I was a 1080 runner for years but skipped the past two generations. I saw several reviews that mentioned sizing down a half size on the 1080v12. I tried a 10.5 first and while it felt comfortable for walking and was about the length of my size 11 shoes it didn't feel good for running. I'm going to try my normal running size of 11 and see how it goes. For pros this shoe feels light to me, it's comfortable for daily wear and I feel the styling is an improvement over the past two years. I would like more color options in 4e width but that's pretty typical. For negatives I don't feel like this shoe has much cushioning in the front of the shoe. The balls of my feet felt like they were taking a beating. So far I prefer running in my 880v11 or Fresh Foam More V3s but we'll see if that changes with the larger size.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks and New Balance for really wide feet

I use this product when I take my morning walks and at work. My feet don't get tired at ALL. This sneaker is a god send.

I like the fact these are finally cool looking
A first for NB running for me
I like them, however for me the V11 is better
These feel too cushioned and the v11 perfect

Fits better overall than previous versions. However I give it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons. First, the toe box is narrower and I have wide feet, but not wide enough to go for the wide model. Second, there is less foam in the heel, which makes for a little harder ride since I use it for walking ( 71 years old, 13 min/ mile) so I put more weight on my heel than if I were running. Still a very good shoe, but the better fit is offset by the changes to the toe box and heel cushioning.

The 1080 line of New Balance running shoes are my choice, the v12 is living up to its predecessors. So far, my only criticism is the lack of a larger variety of color choices.

Good shoe, but does not appear to have as much padding as the previous version

I like this shoe a lot so far. I have feet that are just wide enough to be uncomfortable in standard width but Wides often seem to be a little too roomy and feel unstable. I like the more elastic mesh upper on this shoe because it solves that problem. I have been running in the 11 wides for several weeks now and love this as a recovery run shoe. I also like to keep at least one more maximalist shoe in my lineup. To change up my mechanics and prevent injury.
New Balance is better than others about this but the colors I would have wanted sold out very quickly in wides. I kind of hate the color I ended up with. Another minor complaint is that the foam on the midsole seems excessively wide extending much further out to the sides than seems necessary. As a result I occasionally feel the shoe brush mu opposite leg which is something I haven't experienced with any other shoe. I have a Marathon in 3 weeks and its a little too cushioned for the actual race in my opinion but it has been a solid training shoe for those Tuesday runs after my Saturday long runs.

I am an older individual- like the cushion feeling-
would have preferred a little more support as well-it is hard to do both

When I put these on I noticed they run a bit larger and wider than last year's model, as last year's model was more form fitting. Not a bad shoe though. The Achilles area material is different too. Last year it was rubbery, now it is more canvas-like. I think last year's model generally felt better overall.

New Balance advertises the 1080 as the shoe they would produce if they could only produce one shoe. Similarly, I think if you could only have one shoe, the 1080 would make a great choice. For me, the standout sensation when running in this shoe is the rocker feel that makes it easy to keep the legs turning over when tired. I also like the looks of the shoe as it looks sleek and fast. Lastly, I think it is under-appreciated that New Balance offers this shoe in a variety of widths. I very much enjoyed the narrow fit offered in the 1080 V12 and commend New Balance for offering so many different widths across many of their shoes.
In the areas that need work, the shoe runs half a size too large. I only found this out through looking at many reviews online first. Also, the Fresh Foam X blend used in this shoe does not feel especially bouncy. I generally enjoy high-rebound shoes even for easy run days.

at least it's available in 10.5 Extra Wide! When are men's LAV tennis shoes and Heiro trail running shoes going to come in my size?

I weigh 300 pounds and decided to run a 5K. I did some research and that is how I found the 1080. First fit was like a glove. First "run" was blister free, first mile was 17:30. 6 months later the only change is my weight and times. I've completed the 5K, 10K, and a 10 miler. I've signed up for more including a half marathon this fall. BTW I'm pacing at 13:00.

I'm on feet all day and needed something for support, and lots of cushion. The bottoms roll right off your feet back to front. Definitely a good running shoe. My knees are less sore, after a day's work. Only negative is the price.

I've been slowly breaking in my pair of shoes over the last two weeks. I find a lack of uniform support for all parts of my feet and ankles. I've added something that fits Andre my heel to increase balance. Before doing this I was ready to send them back. But I'll probably keep them and see how things go for now.

As most reviews have stated, this shoe runs large. It's snug in the midfoot, but has extra length and width in the toe box. I measure an 11.5+ C/D on a Brannock and usually fit perfect in a 12D, but I guess I should have ordered an 11.5 in this case, and maybe even narrow. Beautiful shoe and felt great to try on and stand in. Follow everyone's advice and order 1/2 size down from your normal purchase size. I would have kept them even with the extra length if it weren't for the extra width as well.

The step in comfort is nice and I've enjoyed running in these so far. The knit was amazing. By far the best upper I've felt. There's a good softness and slight bounce in the midsole but I sometimes end up wanting more. They should swap out the fresh foam x with Fuelcell and they'd probably have the best max cushion shoe on the market! I've done an easy short run and a 16 miler yesterday. I was running on tired legs from the day before the shoes held up fine. I'd recommend!

I really like this shoe! I just wish it was a smidge wider in the middle of the foot.

I have been buying New Balance 1080s for at leas 6 years and always wore the same size. Just received this latest pair, V12, and they appear a full size larger. New Balance needs to fix their sizing control. I have to return these.

To tight across the bridge of my foot. Otherwise true to size. Nice color and the material was nice.

Runs wide and long. I run with a toe strike and supinate, and these are just getting torn to shreds after less than 50 miles. My old brooks beast held up way better, and the new ones are better still.

I got these to replace an older version of the 1080. The difference in the materials they use in this newer version are significantly less appealing. For one the sidewall of the soul is a much easier material to soil. I swear my older 1080's stayed looking like new after a year of intermittent use. These newer ones were dirty looking in 3 weeks. Really disappointing. also for some reason the laces are shorter....oh well serves me right for not buying multiple pairs of a shoe that was great from the start....impossible to find the older versions now....

this shoe is a far cry from earlier versions....dont know why NB keeps changing their sizing conventions.
Whilst this shoe fits at an 11 wide the even newer version does not and this shoe is definitely tighter than the older version of 1080 which I preferred.
Maybe NB has performance considerations but for me its a great loss from what was a great shoe.
Also, these newer versions scuff and stain much easier in the sole. The older ones looked almost new a year after I bought them. These ones stained from dirt almost immediately.
I sure wish I would've gotten 5-10 pairs of the older version before they weren't available anymore...
boohoo...
