I bought this jacket last week and have worn it every day since, for everyday wear and on a hike. It's lightweight but warm, my family says it's "slimming", and the pattern of the puff is cute. The only reason I give it 4 stars at this point is because it does not stuff into its pocket easily. I don't know if I just haven't figured out how to do it correctly but I've had trouble with the packing part so far.

This is my second jacket. Good quality, but I think it runs a little large for a XS Petite size.

I just bought the dark blue jacket and it looks great. Super light and good for travel. My only negative is that the elastic cuffs are a bit too snug. My size is XS reg. so I'm stretching the cuffs with tennis balls in the sleeves.

Love this jacket. I would have given it a 4.5 but the form wouldn't allow it. The only thing I would change is the zipper - it doesn't have a two-way zipper. Otherwise it is pretty perfect!

I purchased this jacket because of the hood. I have its cousin without the hood, and I am warmer on blustery days with a hood.
Let me begin by saying that I love the jacket, but these new lightweight nylon jackets are, in my opinion, not the warmest for temps in the teens and below. ( That may be different if you are active, like walking or shoveling, etc)
850 down is only a label for weight, the warmth comes from the size of the baffles that contain the down and the amount of space to trap air.( I have an 850 down sweater style jacket from Bean and the tiny baffles make it only suitable for Fall weather in the northern states, like mine, Ohio.)
The hood on this jacket is great! It is large enough to cover your head and ears without falling in your eyes like some of the other jackets.
I purchased the plum color/magenta color with the teal accents and it is beautiful.
This jacket is not, in my opinion, windproof, so you definitely want to layer under it. For those of you who have long arms, this jacket has a nice length sleeve. I like my sleeve length to be at my wrist, and this was a little longer than that on me ( size large), which the hood less jacket did not have.
There have been a lot of cons written about the outer material of these nylon jackets. So when you buy one remember that they can snag, most are packable and light, so they are not as durable as the other heavier materials out there.
I find the jacket perfect for whatever I need to do in the winter without staying out in the cold for long periods of time. That's just me, and I do get cold easily.
A plus is that spills wash off easily. There is also a drawstring at the bottom if you want your jacket to have a less straight or boxy look.

Love the jacket, ripped a hole in outer elbow in first week on metal doorjam and patched it with Gear Aid.

I want to absolutely love this jacket, particularly because it was an investment. While I like it, I wish it fit a little looser so I can wear a sweater underneath. I wear a size 20-22 but I ordered a 3x so I could wear layers. It does zip up fortunately, but it is snug and far too snug to wear layers. So I recommend sizing up and perhaps more than one size if you like bulky sweatshirts or sweaters.

I bought the L.L. Bean 850 Ultralight Down jacket as my sub-outer layer for my winter hiking and snowshoeing, the outer layer being the Women's Gortex Pro Patroller jacket. This jacket alone is great in colder temps and even has decent protection from wind. It has two decent size pockets and an inside chest pocket and packs down into one of the pockets (10"x6"x5") for space-saving in your backpack or luggage. The petite size was the right choice for me (5'2"). The jacket is incredibly lightweight (13.2 ounces) so it's great for hiking! Overall I am very happy with my purchase!

An awesomely warm jacket I bought after my husband raved about the warmth of his Ultralight down 850 jacket. It keeps me very warm and I love being able to roll it into it's own pocket for travel. My only complaint is that at 5'9" the jacket is a little short and sometimes allows some exposure at the bottom

This is a great warm but ultralight jacket! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that even though it is size Petite XS it is still a little longer on my sub-5-foot frame than I would like.

Change my mind and returning.

I like it, but I wonder if they sent me the men's version instead. The zipper is on the wrong side. The medium, which I usually wear was too big. The small is fine, but it's a little boxy.

This is a great warm jacket like the men's. We bought them together and the men's gets a five star but the women's does not have the breast pocket for a phone making it not as functional.

Fits well, haven't tried outside yet, but seems warm! Although "ultralight," it packs up a bit bigger than expected! But, better too warm than cold!

Well made and warm. I like the dark and light blue color combination. My only complaint is that the sizing is too big. I ordered an xs petite and it still too large to look sporty.

Beautiful blue color in Petite small however a little bulky on the top. I'm petite and have a small frame , Definitely would recommend to friends. I am from Boston

I wanted so much to love this jacket. The beautiful deep lagoon color was spectacular and it seemed to have all the right "stuff" but alas this product runs very large. Though I am usually a Petite XS in LL Bean clothes this jacket was just too big on me and I had to return it.

I mostly ordered this because of the beautiful color, and to replace my down jacket which had gotten a tear in it and was worse for the wear. It's really warm and cozy. It's pretty generously sized, I can fit a heavy sweater or fleece underneath, and the arms seem especially generous (I like the long length of the sleeve as I'm fairly tall, but feel the arms could be a bit slimmer). I am 5'7" 140lbs and long limbed, for comparison. I ordered the size M. It feels super lightweight, especially for how warm it is. The hood is comfortable over the top of a hat, and has a nice sort of brim to it. The fabric feels a little bit fragile, I definitely worried about my mouthy puppy, but so far so good! I've not worn it in any precipitation yet, but that was not my intended use for it anyway.

Warm, light, a little odd on the fit (long/large for size). I had a previous version of this jacket which I loved (unfortunately a rogue pen through the wash made it very weird-looking but I still wear it)--this newer version is longer and looser in the fit--I appreciated the trim fit of the previous version that hit right at the hip which I prefer for a jacket--this one hits awkwardly low on my hip, like it can't decide if it's a jacket or a parka (but I am short so this may not be an issue for other people). Still I like the color, the jacket is very warm and comfortable so I am making my peace with it not being quite as cute as I'd like--it is quite functional and seems typical of LLBean quality.

The jacket is warm, fits well and looks attractive. It is best when worn over layers on cold days.

This is a great jacket. I did buy it for skiing and it is very warm and comfortable in 5-20 degree weather. My only complaint is that it doesn't have great pockets for skiing. There is no small zip pocket on the sleeve to put your pass in and only one interior pocket with a zipper. The addition of an extra pocket or two and it would be perfect.

Nice jacket! Warm and lightweight. Arrived just in time for the frigid Wisconsin weather.
My only suggestion for improvement is to add Velcro straps or snaps to the cuffs to ensure a snug fit. Oh, and a two way zipper would be fantastic!

Overall, this coat is terrific. I find it somewhat "boxy" in the front (shoulder to shoulder) though.
