I don't know how you size items. I bought an xl so I could wear a heavy sweater under it. This jacket was smaller than theclargecI currently have. I have found weird sizing on a number of other items too.

I bought this jacket online and because it was on sale. The problem is that the sleeve lining extends beyond the end of the jacket sleeve EVERY time I put it on! It is possible to tuck it back and the jacket is fine otherwise but if I had tried it on in the store , I would not have purchased it. A disappointing experience in a long history of satisfaction with LL Bean's products.

I really liked this coat until I started noticing all the strings hanging out everywhere. Poor quality for LL BEAN

This jacket is adequate except for being able to put it on easily. The fabric across the inside shoulders catches with sweaters and cotton shirts imaking it very difficult to put on. Because of this issue I returned the jacket. I also missed having an interior pocket. Other than that (Mrs. Lincoln!) the jacket was fine.

I was prepared to love this jacket but am very disappointed. While warm the fleece lining on the upper back makes it difficult to put on when wearing different types of sweaters and tops. The friction created by the fleece is annoying. I cannot recommend this jacket and will probably return it.

I bought this once, and had to return it because it was way too small. I've had other llbean coats, and this one definitely runs small. I ordered a larger one, and now I don't like how it flares out at my hips. It looks weird. It would be great if it had a bungee along the bottom, so you could make it tighter. I feel like all the cold will come right up the bottom of it.

Here are the things I like about this coat:
Style, hood, color, fit, warmth
Here is the one thing that irritates me EVERY time I put it on: the fleece lining in the shoulders and sleeves. If I wore a silk t-shirt every time I wore it, it wouldn't be a problem. But because I live in Colorado, I usually wear a sweater during the time I wear this coat. The fleece lining makes it very difficult to get into the coat. I struggle every time I wear it.

I had the 850 jacket i loved it except the colors it came in so thats why i purchase it so i decided to try the 650 because of the color but the lining isn't the same hard to get on and arms are tight definitely not close to the 850

The main problem that I had with this jacket (and the reason that I returned it) was the fleece lining on the upper inside portion of the coat. While it may have kept me warmer, it made it difficult to put on and move around in as it pulled at my clothes. A nylon lined jacket is much easier to slip on and move around in. Otherwise, the fit and warmth were great, as were the zippered pockets.

I love the look and warmth of this coat but although I'm very petite, the arms are quite small in proportion to the rest of the coat. It feels as though it is an error with the construction of the jacket. It also has a feint , odd smell. I wanted it to work but will be returning it.

This was a gift and had to be exchanged for the next size up (this person typically wears LL Bean size Medium and had to exchange for a large). Unfortunately, after 2 months of wearing it, little feathers started to poke out all over the coat. This jacket is warm, light weight and super cute, but can't recommend it because the feathers are already coming out.

Feathers falling out of Jacket, before bumped into something material tears easily now I can't return it! sleeve lining doesn't stay inside, Wind pushes through Hood. Warm with a Fleece under otherwise not! You would have to get a larger size which, I did. Not at all the LL Bean Product I am accustomed to. I had an LL Bean that lasted 12 yrs. This one didn't even make it through a month of winter. I would not sell this product! I would pull it! Highly disappointed. If, I knew I would have payed more for a better Jacket. I love LLBean! especially my Jeans and Shirts. This jacket is a Fail! Pull it!

Designed for a shape that not all customers have. If you have a slim build the hips cut into the fabric will stick out. I ordered a small. and, why no free returns? also, comp changed my rating ha!

I bought this coat after reading several reviews across several brands. Ibsettles on this one. Maybe mine is "defective"? Everything was great when i first recieved the coat. After several wears, I started losing feathers. After a few more i started losong feathers in large clumps forcing their way ouy of the coat. Then, i wore it for the first time on a light rainy day. THE. SMELL. It smells like it sat in a warehouse for a very long time and maybe got moist and dried out over time. It had a very mildew-y smell that does not wash out. I have run this coat through the washer twice back to back and the smell will not go away. Very disappointed as I thought id be able to use this coat for several years. Currently in the market for a new, new winter coat. The price tag was not worth the product.

I've lived in New England my whole life. I love LL Bean and wanted this puffer, knew it would be quality, and it is. BUT. I look like a marshmallow armed dork in this jacket. I'm 5'5 140 lbs athletic slim build. I need the medium for broad shoulders and big boobs but YO. the arms are monstrous. If you have slender feminine arms , yep pumping myself up here, you will look like you have suffered some type of disfiguring arm swelling trauma. Is it warm? completely. The body of it fit fine, a bit puffy but fine. But the arms. I mean, Maybe my arms are smaller than usual, idk. I have elegant slim limbs. Yep, more pumping up of self here. But this was a disappointment and unfortunately this is a return.

Way too small. I have 2 other LLBean jackets the exact same size that fit me perfectly that I've worn for years. Was disappointed I had to return it and pay shipping!

This jacket an amazing quality. However LL Bean disgustingly sent me an used jacket. There were blondes hairs all over the red cover on the inside when I took it out of the package. I am a brunette. So I am sure they were not my hairs. Pretty gross. I expect things to be returned and resold but they should have checked it before sending it to me.

I'm not happy with this jacket. The hood is not adjustable. The wind comes right in the hood. The lining comes out the sleeves when you put your arms in. No storm cuffs. The feathers are coming out of the seams. It is warm tho.

Beautiful blue color! However I decided to return because if the sleeves. They were too tight and the lining caught on my shirt sleeves. I also tried the mountain classic down parka, which is an awesome coat. Loved everything about it including the snaps but it's too short.

I just recently bought this jacket and have worn it exactly twice. The second time, I noticed tiny white dust particles flying around me, and my black jeans were covered with this stuff when I took the jacket off. This is not feathers, but perhaps fragments of feathers? In any case, this should not be happening, and I am very disappointed.

Ive had this coat for a few weeks and already all the seams are coming undone with strings hanging out everywhere. The down filling is coming out EVERYWHERE. ITS EMBARASSING to wear it. I dont know that I can buy LL Bean after this.

Did not see that jacket was lined with flannel. It probably was much warmer than I thought. I only like smooth lining jackets which are so much easier to put on. My hooded LLBean jacket of 6 years ago is what I thought I was ordering.

I returned this coat. Too small -not true to size. Thin and cheap feeling. Not the quality I used to get from LL Bean.

Other than the color it was no good. The fleece on the top made it hard to put on. The lining in the sleeves was too long and it stuck out and the zipper was cheap. I love LLBean and was sad about this.

I called and talked to customer service and told them that I had a men's medium and I wanted the equipment. They told me the large would be fine and it's like so not even close. The arms are too tight. The quality of LL Bean's stuff has just gone downhill over and over the years.
