I loved the look, the fit, the warmth (although wasn't AS warm as I had hoped...), but I couldn't figure out why my black coat was always covered in white lint. After a couple months, I quit hapazardly picking off the lint and attacked it in earnest, only to realize that when I pulled off the "lint", strings came with it - from the insulation layer under the outershell. The outerlayer has microholes in it! I feel like I look disheveled with all the 'lint'. I was really disappointed with the quality and am returning it.

The jacket is pretty nice. It's warm and comfy and stylish. The only issue i have with it is that it ripped only a couple weeks after I received it. Ive had LL Bean jackets in the past and I feel like those weren't as fragile as this jacket is.

Product was disappointing. It is not a "parka" but a spring-weight jacket. I returned it and bought a substitute gift elsewhere.

Upper coat fit ok, a bit big, but lower half of coat is very wide, like a full skirt. Not flattering. Plus the zipper is too difficult to close.

I normally buy a lot of LL Bean products but I was a bit disappointed with this one. First I wanted a winter coat and this was marketed as a winter coat- but it's not. It's like a heavier fall jacket. Secondly, I wore this jacket twice before the fabric ripped. And I realized how thin the the outside fabric was. I must say though LL Bean customer service is fantastic. I was easily able to return it with no problems.

I really wanted to love this coat. Unfortunately, it's just not well made and not up to the standards I expect from LL Bean or a $200 coat in general. The first coat I ordered had a defective interior drawstring, so LL Bean shipped me a replacement. My second coat immediately began shedding the puffy fill through tiny holes in both the lining and exterior fabric - annoying and unsightly. This is the second coat/jacket I've bought from LL Bean that has this problem. I have loved many LL Bean pieces in the past, but the quality of their pieces has decreased dramatically.

The ratings say this coat will keep you warm down to 50 degrees and with moderate activity down to 0. This is a lightweight jacket. Even with a sweater it didn't keep me warm. The outside temp. was only 50.

The coat was extensive and isnt very warm. The cold and wind go right through the coat.

I bought this for Michigan. The temps dropped to the 40s, and I felt like I was wearing a windbreaker in freezing weather. It did cut the water from the rain, but I wouldn't rely on it as rain gear. It looks heavier, but there's minimal lining. If you're looking for a winter jacket, you will need to purchase an additional layer and plan for the size accordingly. I would not recommend this for any mid-west period between November and April.

Not winter weight as advertised. Huge, unflattering fit that flares out very widely in hip area. Very disappointing. Returned it.

The jacket was incredibly thin. I was shank at how thin it was. It was very lightweight. The shell looked worn and faded. This simply did not look like anything that L.L. Bean would sell. You certainly couldn't wear it on a very cold day. I ended up on a different website getting a jacket that was 10 times warmer, many pockets, waterproof, better quality, and made better, for less money on sale.

Absolutely the worst purchase I have ever made at L.L. Bean. Too tight at top, flared at bottom, and the fake fur hood was a gigantic disaster. I returned this mess.

I was so surprised when I received this coat. It is not flattering. It flares out at the bottom so it makes a pear shape when I am not pear shaped. My normal size is large and I ordered and xl for room for sweaters. The coat fit me like I would have expected a large to fit me. There is no way this will fit a woman who is a size 16. Really disappointed.

The weather cooled down and I put this coat on to take a walk and found that the zipper is broken after a short time of owning it! I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT! What a waste of my money on a retirement income!

I thought I bought a nice winter coat. If your winter only get 40 degrees that is nice. We get winter where I live. This is a spring jacket...sent it back...very well built....but NOT a winter coat for zone 4.

Super disappointed to find this coat fitting like all your woman's shirts with no room in the chest area. I am not a big busted woman but there is no room in this coat. I have 40 yr old size medium coats with plenty of room in them. I also agree with other reviews regarding the hood - when on, it comes completely down over my whole face. I don't know if all the coats are like the one I received but I could barely open the zipper on the left pocket because it was too close to the snaps on the flap of the outer pocket.

I purchased this for myself i weigh 110 pounds and 5'4. I love the look of this jacket online. Tried it on and very disappointed. The hood was way oversized, it covered my whole face. The design is Gumpy.

Runs extremely small. Fabric was faded in places as if the jacket had been run through a was run through a heavy duty wash cycle. Personally, I do not recommend this jacket

This coat is NOT WARM. I want to return it. What do I need to do?

Poor fit and quality. Ordered another coat from another online seller. Cheaper and well made.

Its a 200$ jacket and my expectation was quiet high and it was not warm at all.

What happened to L.L.Bean quality? The first time I ordered this jacket, one of the pocket snaps broke and fell off then the replacement came in and the stitching is coming apart at the seams. The faux fur hood also sheds like crazy and the jacket material shows every little piece of lint. Super disappointed because this jacket looks so cute online. Will be returning.

I recently purchased this coat and expedited shipping so I'd have it for thanksgiving. Unfortunately, the size and fit were not right. It was not roomy, and there are pockets in places where there shouldn't be pockets! I'll just leave it at that, but look where the upper pockets arethey were at a very awkward place for my height.
