Runs very small. I normally take an XL. I sent back the 1X and am waiting for a back order 2X

I previously bought this vest in petite navy XS and it fit perfectly. Loved it so much I decided to buy in black. Unfortunately I returned it. The black runs smaller.

Fleece lining gives this vest extra warmth on cold northeast winter days. The lining is thin so it doesn't make the vest bulky. I purchased navy in a small (I'm 5'2", 120 lbs.). Easily fits over a turtleneck and fleece and layers under a heavier jacket well. Only small downfalls, I find the zipper to be a little finicky and the color of the navy fleece (which shows on the collar) is not as crisp as the navy on the vest. Overall, great fit and comfy. Good pocket placement.

Ordered the 3x as the sides stretch a bit. Could use a bit more room but can still zip it up. Nice color. I also have this in the dark green which is really pretty.

I thought it ran Small size-wise. I normally take an XL but it was snug. The quality, color and fabric was exceptionally nice though so I sent it back for a larger size which I am awaiting .

I went walking in a turtleneck and this vest this morning at 41 degrees F and was very comfy. I ordered a medium because of a review about thickness of an under layer, but I wonder if I should have gotten a small. I like the recycled polyester aspect of this vest! It has a low loft but still plenty warm. I was surprised!

Great vest except the fleece lining sheds. I have pale burgundy fuzz on everything. I can live with it, though.

This is a nice, lightweight vest with a slim fit. It's probably best as an under-layer or for milder winter days.

Really like this vest. Comfortable and warm if weather not freezing. I like the style, the pockets, and soft collar. I withheld a star because I had to return the small for an extra small. And it's still plenty big for a thick sweater underneath. I'm not an extra small size and feel it's somewhat unfair that I had to pay a fee to exchange it. LLBean needs to stop having all their products made in other countries that mess up sizing and shape! It's such a real problem with this company this past few years that I'm done with paying extra for these mistakes. Just not worth it anymore.

I was pleasantly surprised with how fitted this vest is in the waist. The length and arm hole size is excellent. For reference the arm holes do not come down to bra level so cold air won't sneak in in gaping underarms and the pockets are not fleece lined, only the inside of the vest. I love the soft fleece lining and large zippered pockets my phone can fit in. I would give it five stars if the collar wasn't so high and it had a chest pocket for cards. The collar cannot be comfortably worn all the way zipped up because it's so tall but it lays flat so this isn't a deal breaker for me.

The vest is very cozy and light weight, the color pine is pretty. It runs on the small side so if you are between sizes order up. I will exchange the x small for a small.

I absolutely love this vest the quality and fit are perfect, and it's exactly the kind of classic L.L.Bean piece I look forward to wearing. However, I'm disappointed in the pricing. The vest I received has a $99 price tag attached, but it's now listed online for $120. This is a brand-new color, so it's not an older model being phased out. It's frustrating to see prices raised so quickly, especially when it feels like the increase offsets any potential discounts. L.L.Bean has always stood for honesty and quality, so I hope they take a closer look at how these pricing changes affect their loyal customers.

Side areas (where the elastic stitching is) are not as warm as the rest of the vest. Fleece-y lining gets hung up on clothing worn under the vest and the vest is long enough that it bunches up when sitting down. It will work as a layer for hiking, but not around the house where I planned on wearing it.

Fair. Awfully thin material. Not much warmth by itself. Ok for layering. Very pricey.

I'm 5ft 2in, 128 lbs. This vest felt a bit too long. Also it was rather stiff and stocky looking. Unfortunately it went back.

My usual L size ran small so I ordered the XL which is too big but am keeping it hoping with sweaters under will help. Otherwise usual good LL Bean quality

The only reason I gave 3 stars is that they are not true to size. They are sized smaller than listed.

Why is it that XL now seems to mean "extra long" ? Tight fit & 'way long. Not sized the same my older LL Bean vests in XL.
