I've had similar raincoats and they just don't hold up - not like one made of oil cloth type material or even a plastic. Maybe not so breathable - but old Columbia one I had, did repel water. Just didn't think it would do the trick and I returned it for a full refund.

I had high hopes for this rain jacket. I used it for a couple months and each time, felt cold. It's thin but I knew this already. I was simply cold because the rain always seeped through. Each and every time my shirt or sweater was soaked when I went out in medium or heavy rain. For the money paid, LL Bean disappoints. They must do better and TEST their products before advertising them as waterproof.

This rain coat is a great concept with the zippered pockets, adjustable waist and great length but the sleeves were so narrow. Women that wear a 2X do not have arms as thin as what was expected in this coat. There was no room for any type of long sleeve tee shirt or any garment. Bought the H2Off Rain Mesh-Lined Jacket instead.

Well made and nice color, but much too snug overall. The fit was too close in the body and sleeves to even consider wearing it over another layer, and I had in mind to use it on cool days over a sweater.

I received the L.L. Bean Women's Trail Model Raincoat today and it is awful. I cannot even zip it up. It also looks very cheap. I have never returned anything to L.L. Bean before, but I can't keep a raincoat that I hate. I'm calling the company so they can send me a new label since I don't own a printer.

I purchased the petite size, which is only 1.5" shorter than the regular. Petites from other clothiers fit me perfectly, at 5' 2.5", but this coat was much, much longer than pictured here and the sleeves went past the tips of my fingers. Very disappointing. I ordered a winter coat from them as well, which was a little long in the sleeves but more true to size for a petite. I thought this was mismarked but I researched their size/fit description and see that this is not truly a petite, just slightly shorter than a standard/regular size. Very disappointing.

Not like it used to be this arrived stiff and smelly and the smell persisted after washing this is the fourth or fifth one I have purchased. I love the others this is a downgrade.

I felt it was overpriced plus thin. But mostly it felt like wearing a layer of plastic there should have been better lining

Bought this raincoat a year ago. Didn't need to use it that often as it is not warm so only needed in spring and summer. It is no longer useable. The zipper has totally failed and will not stay closed, the Velcro pulls apart if you move at all. So, end result, I get soaking wet. I will no longer buy LLBean as their product fail rate seems to be consistent throughout the line.

So disappointed with this coat. Has so many positive features (longer length, Velcro to tighten sleeves, chest pocket, adjustable hood) but all of that can't outweigh the negative.....it's not waterproof! Wore this in a heavy rain and I could feel the clamminess inside the coat. Got home, took coat off, and my blouse and arms were totally damp. I had put my Love Sac purse inside the coat to keep it dry, but purse was soaking wet. I will be returning this and going elsewhere to find a truly waterproof raincoat.

I was very disappointed in the fit of this raincoat. I typically take a Regular Medium or a Large Petite. First, I tried the M and it was snug in the waist. The LP was too big overall, especially in the shoulders.

This would have been my third or fourth Trail model raincoat from Bean (eventually, the waterproofing wore out, especially at the shoulders.) Unfortunately, someone decided that the style had to include waist shaping and flaring out at the hips. Now the darn thing makes me look like a pear, and I doubt I could ever put extra layers underneath. So sorry: it's going back.

Just received today. It was a struggle to get zipped up, I had to really apply pressure, and that was not good as I just received it so I did not want to damage it. Too bad... I really wanted to use this for recess duty in the rain... Also, I'm about 5'3" and this was like 3 inches above my knee, and I purchased the regular size large, I thoufgt it would be longer.... Definitely roomy tho. I took other reviewers with a grain of salt when they mentioned this as I thought it was just their experience, but they were right...

Not for me. Disliked the material so much that I never even tried it on after receiving it in the mail. Felt and looked cheap.

This is an awful raincoat. Zippers are difficult, the material is very uncomfortable and hot. Had to return it.

I wore this lightweight rain coat to an outdoor concert. After wearing it and sitting in the rain, I was soaked completely through after 30 minutes.

I'm 5'1" 140 lbs. I ordered a ladies Petite Large. I returned it because its made to slim through the middle-hip area. When you sit down in the jacket it pulls across your hips to tight. I reordered an extra large and it still did the same thing. And was only larger in the shoulders, chest and arms which was not where I needed it. I do not have wide hips, I'm very average. This jacket is just made to slim from the waste to the hips.I would not recommend this jacket. I ordered a completely different rain jacket from LL Bean the women's petite H20 and it fits much better.

Bought this coat ( 5th coat) for a trip. One star because the fit and length are perfect. Zipper difficult to use. Needs to be a tougher zipper. Zero stars because this coat is NOT waterproof! One rain showers and I was soaked through! Very disappointed with llbean.

Tight across hips, runs large on top. Not for my body type, I guess.

I have had one of these jackets for 15 years. The hood lining cracked so I ordered a new one, the same size as the one I have had for all those years, XLg Well, the one I got was too tight and the sleeves were too short?? I have been wearing the same one for years! So I reordered in W xlg. And that one was too tight and the sleeves too short! I haven't changed that much over 20 years. So, I gave up! And then you charged me $8 for the last return??

I returned this raincoat because I could not get the zipper to work. I believe that a larger zipper would have worked better!
