Good idea, but the lining inside this coat and every other "Trail Model" product starts to peel, usually within a year. This has been noted repeatedly to LL Bean, but never an adequate fix by them. Disappointing...

I returned this jacket with a defective waist cinch cord. It became detached, or maybe just was never attached at the waist on one side. The other side was fine. For the price I expect better quality and quality control. Other than that the material is very thin, so in cold weather you definitely need layers. The zipper did not operate easily, I had to wrestle with it to get it started and it zips like a man's jacket, so that threw me for a loop, it was awkward. It kept the water out, I was able to wear it once to see if I wanted to replace it with one that was hopefully not broken.

This coat was decent except for a few points: a. The color choices. It comes in a navy blue and black only. Those colors are both blah and expected and women need some color! Give us some color choices please.. 2. It is super crunchy and stiff to wear. So much that it is bothersome wearing it. Went back to the store as a return.

I couldn't believe how the raincoats I ordered were so different. I still have one I bought in 2012, which I have enjoyed wearing and was better looking and had a zip-in and out partial flannel lining & removable hood. I decided to order a new coat replacement which was different style, heavier fabric, but the hip area was too clingy and narrow. Love the new colors and attached hood and weight of new fabric. I sent this coat back and just received the replacement coat in M/P a few days ago. I was unpleasantly surprised & very disappointed. The fabric on the second coat was like a piece of tissue paper, no lining, and velcro tabs replacing the snaps and hangs like a empty sack of potatoes! I've been a fan of LL Bean, buying clothes, shoes, camping supplies, etc., for myself and my husband and children, since 1976, and love everything I've bought. I'm sending this coat back and will try to find another that will be a little less expensive, more substantial, with snaps & zipper that works. I will continue to buy from LL Bean because I still love your merchandise, except for your raincoats!

I bought this raincoat for a recent trip to England. The first time I wore it in the rain, I got soaked through and my shirt underneath was soaked as well. I was depending on having a waterproof raincoat as we spent a lot of time outdoors walking. But the rain just soaked straight through the fabric. I am returning it now that I am back in the U.S.

I have been trying to replace a raincoat that I bought from LL Bean about a decade ago. I thought this was it, since the length was right, but it has no lining and was tight. Just not what I expected.

I have had this raincoat for a while and whenever I take it off, I feel wet, especially my arms. I figured I was lifting my arms and water was getting in. But, I just got back from taking a walk in the rain and my back is soaked. The inside of the raincoat has water on it. My husband has an LL Bean raincoat and loves it. I'm going to have to keep looking.

Other reviewers said this raincoat could be snug so I ordered Large. Usually a medium fits me in LL Bean jackets. In the Large the sleeves were about 2 inches too long and the hips were very tight, even with only a t shirt underneath. Sorry to have to return it.

I knew that I was ordering the less expensive raincoat, but I thought it would be more substantial than it is. As for the size, I can wear a petite large in other clothes, but this coat is tight, and long for a "petite." I will be returning it.

I've had similar raincoats and they just don't hold up - not like one made of oil cloth type material or even a plastic. Maybe not so breathable - but old Columbia one I had, did repel water. Just didn't think it would do the trick and I returned it for a full refund.

I had high hopes for this rain jacket. I used it for a couple months and each time, felt cold. It's thin but I knew this already. I was simply cold because the rain always seeped through. Each and every time my shirt or sweater was soaked when I went out in medium or heavy rain. For the money paid, LL Bean disappoints. They must do better and TEST their products before advertising them as waterproof.

This rain coat is a great concept with the zippered pockets, adjustable waist and great length but the sleeves were so narrow. Women that wear a 2X do not have arms as thin as what was expected in this coat. There was no room for any type of long sleeve tee shirt or any garment. Bought the H2Off Rain Mesh-Lined Jacket instead.

Well made and nice color, but much too snug overall. The fit was too close in the body and sleeves to even consider wearing it over another layer, and I had in mind to use it on cool days over a sweater.

We have purchased several of LL beans outer wear over the decades. One thing that has been consistent is zipper failure. This garment is over a year old and not covered by any warranty. We used to be a big supporter of the product line. Not any more. We will never buy one of their garments again.

I received the L.L. Bean Women's Trail Model Raincoat today and it is awful. I cannot even zip it up. It also looks very cheap. I have never returned anything to L.L. Bean before, but I can't keep a raincoat that I hate. I'm calling the company so they can send me a new label since I don't own a printer.

I purchased the petite size, which is only 1.5" shorter than the regular. Petites from other clothiers fit me perfectly, at 5' 2.5", but this coat was much, much longer than pictured here and the sleeves went past the tips of my fingers. Very disappointing. I ordered a winter coat from them as well, which was a little long in the sleeves but more true to size for a petite. I thought this was mismarked but I researched their size/fit description and see that this is not truly a petite, just slightly shorter than a standard/regular size. Very disappointing.

Not like it used to be this arrived stiff and smelly and the smell persisted after washing this is the fourth or fifth one I have purchased. I love the others this is a downgrade.

I felt it was overpriced plus thin. But mostly it felt like wearing a layer of plastic there should have been better lining

Bought this raincoat a year ago. Didn't need to use it that often as it is not warm so only needed in spring and summer. It is no longer useable. The zipper has totally failed and will not stay closed, the Velcro pulls apart if you move at all. So, end result, I get soaking wet. I will no longer buy LLBean as their product fail rate seems to be consistent throughout the line.

So disappointed with this coat. Has so many positive features (longer length, Velcro to tighten sleeves, chest pocket, adjustable hood) but all of that can't outweigh the negative.....it's not waterproof! Wore this in a heavy rain and I could feel the clamminess inside the coat. Got home, took coat off, and my blouse and arms were totally damp. I had put my Love Sac purse inside the coat to keep it dry, but purse was soaking wet. I will be returning this and going elsewhere to find a truly waterproof raincoat.

I was very disappointed in the fit of this raincoat. I typically take a Regular Medium or a Large Petite. First, I tried the M and it was snug in the waist. The LP was too big overall, especially in the shoulders.
