I ordered this jacket with great anticipation of replacing my 15+ yr old Mountain Classic Down Parka. I should have read the details on this new version because I was very disappointed when my new jacket arrived. First off - the hood is way too big with no adjustment strap on the back (unlike many Bean coats), cuffs have baggy snaps and no inside knitted cuff, pockets are too small, zipper and snaps aren't very flattering, and overall this jacket is much thinner than old version and doesn't seem like it would be warm enough for all day walks. I couldn't send it back quick enough. This version is just a run-of-the-mill winter jacket. Nothing special and definitely not worth the price - especially compared to other Bean competitors.

I purchased this coat for Christmas, I have the shorter version and wanted the long one for more warmth when I do my daily winter horse chores here in Iowa. I love the coat, it's very warm but the zipper was so tricky; each time I tried it took me at least five tries to engage the zipper and I don't have time in the early cold mornings to fuss with an inefficient zipper while my horses are waiting to be fed. It was very frustrating for me. I even watched the video and it makes me wonder why a video would even be necessary if it worked well in the first place. I returned the coat reluctantly as I really do love the warmth it affords. I would give it another try if LLBean would improve the zipper as it is the warmest coat I had. I do hope that LLBean will take note of all the reviews concerning the difficult zipper.

The zipper is very difficult. Maybe cause it's new. I've only tried it on not sure if I'm keeping it. If I decide to keep it I'm washing hoping it helps. It's a very warm jacket has to be much colder to wear.

I love the idea of this coat and did ultimately keep it, but the pockets are so incredibly shallow. My phone has fallen out into the snow and onto the sidewalk. There is an internal zipper pocket that I can put my phone and keys in so they don't fall out, but I don't feel like I should need to go into a 2nd inside pocket because the 1st pocket isn't capable of doing its job.

I love the fit and color ( navy) but I was disappointed with the parka not being as warm as I thought it would be. As one person commented, on Jan 11th post, maybe a fleece liner or something other than nylon inside would improve that . Also, treating down ( DownTek) may keep it waterproof, but could change down's ability to hold the warmth, that untreated down, normally provides.

I wish it were a bit warmer. I have size large, even tho I am a medium
The hood comes way over my eyes. Even on a larger person, I think this would happen. The lining at the end of the sleeves doesn't like to stay put, that's a bit annoying. With these 2 exceptions, I really do like this Parka.

Must be between sizes. The xl was tight in chest and arms when I put a heavy sweater under it. I would always wear with a sweater so this coat wouldn't work. Then I tried 1x and it was too big at the bottom. Flared out and was very unflattering. So I am now back to my old coats which work. The people who helped me on line and later in the Freehold,NJ store were so polite and helpful. Good coat but not for my body.

I bought this coat in 2020, and now recently at the end of 2022. The quality of the new one is much worse. It is much flatter and less puffy than before. It still keeps me warm, but there has definitely been a decrease in quality over the years.

I really wanted to keep this jacket because it was comfy and very warm. But I ordered two of them and they both smelled bad, like the down wasn't cleaned/processed properly. It almost smelled like a wet dog. Unfortunately it had to go back.

Nice looking but looks very big when you put it on.

Love this Parka but, had to return it. I purchased a small and it runs way too BIG. Unfortunately LL Bean does not offer an exchange option. So any discount you received does not carry over to exchange price which is really disappointing.

It's warm, but very bulky. I don't care too much how I look as long as I'm warm. The pockets are slightly lower than expected. The pockets do have a zippered part in them which is nice. I would have liked some interior pockets. Plenty of room for layering.

This is a nice looking coat but not as serviceable as the traditional llbean ultra warm 3/4 length coat. I bought this for the color. It's perfect weight, nice and warm but the snaps are difficult to use and the pockets are too small.I prefer the quality of the Bean ultra warm 3/4 coat.

Great color! But I'm usually a Med Petite across the board (which is what I ordered) and was swimming in this. Unfortunately the mid section was more like an XL. Great for an apple shape, though.

It's true what others sat about the zipper. It can be hard to get started but I think his is due to the length of the coat, making it awkward. Also true that the hood is too big, going too far over your face. Pockets could be deeper, but are ok as is. My problem is warmth. I am not at all impressed with his down combo material. I live in CT and we had our first cold morning today, below 40 degrees, slight breeze. My back and arms are cold! In 2005 I bought a reversible jacket from you which I still have. I tested it against the new one today and it was warmer. Only reason I got a new one is I couldn't get the old one clean any more and they no longer make it.

This is a very warm coat and would have been fine except for a sticky zipper.

Recommended only if you're petite or average size. Great parka for my daughter and she loves it, so I thought I'd buy one for my 5'9" long-armed self. Turns out LL Bean doesn't offer this parka in Tall. I filtered my search for Tall sizes and there were only six results. SIX. Six fleece jackets to choose from for a Pennsylvania winter. Come on, LL Bean. Get with the program - there's no excuse. I would love to shop your site for my own styles, but you consistently leave me no choice but to go elsewhere.

This is my go to winter coat, however every time I put my hands in the pockets especially with gloves on I can't tell if I'm in the zippered pocket or the regular pocket right behind the regular pocket. Too me pockets are a huge issue and this is a terrible design flaw. They are way too small for a winter coat when pockets are needed for mittens/gloves, a mask, tissues, dog cookies, and dog bags. Oh, and of course, the cell phone! I wear this coat every day, every day I grumble about the pocket issue. The prior version of this coat had a much better pocket design. It's a shame it was changed.

I am returning this jacket because the zipper is very difficult to operateI almost gave up on unzipping it just so I could try it on. An easy zipper is an imperative and this jacket does not have that.

This parka was well made and warm. However, it created a lot of static electricity for me. My hair was total fly-away, and everything I touched while wearing it (closing the vehicle door, opening store doors, etc...) caused me to get a shock. Needless to say, I returned it and ordered a different jacket, which unfortunately is on back order until April.

Nice coat, I really like the look and the fit is good. Gave the 3 star review as the pocket placement seems a little off, wish there was as a breast pocket. Also, don't think the coat is all that warm.

This coat is warm and comfortable but the pockets are very disappointing. The inside pocket is too small to hold anything other than a phone, and the front pockets are small and designed so that everything falls out.

Good jacket but not the warmth I needed. Sorry. I wanted something warm and cozy. I stay cold so thought 600 down meant warm but realized this wasn't the case

Very warm and comfortable. The down does poke through and does not come out easily leaving white "dots" on the arms. Also, outer fabric seems to attract dirt, not repel it.

It's not perfect, but it's pretty close! I'm typically a small, sometimes medium in coats. I bought this in medium to give room for layers and it was huge. I exchanged for a small (kudos to the llbean exchange process) and it's still big, but not so big I'll exchange for xs. The sleeves are a bit short & I wish it had soft cuffs at wrists. It's also fairly boxy & with interior drawstring cinched I think it looks even bulkier. I do like the warmth, the length, the soft lined pockets & adjustable hood. I'm 5'3", 140lbs.
