Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
This vest was warm and comfortable while also being lightweight. But its proportions are strange. It is long and is tight around the hips and bottom but large in the chest. I kept it anyway because I needed it for a trip.

Appears to be made well. It does run fairly true to size. I'm 5'5" and weigh 122. I purchased the medium and feel comfortable with it over a flannel shirt or t shirt and fleece. It's a bit big in the hips for me, but there's drawstrings on both sides to tighten it up. I like the pocket on the chest. My one concern is how long will the emblem last before it starts peeling off. For this price would have expected it to be sewn in like the other LLBean vest I tried. Can't really say anything about how warm it is because it's really thin. So far I've only worn it in the upper 40's to mid 50's weather.

I'm digging this vest, wearing it almost every day here in our mild northern California November weather. I had an earlier version from several years ago which I wore to an embarrassing condition, so this was an easy choice. My favorite feature is the chest pocket, for carrying my phone. The side pockets are also comfortable. The whole thing is lightweight and not at all bad looking. The only bit that isn't perfect for me is the neckline, which is slightly stiff and sometimes ends up rubbing against my face. Even so, if there were another color I liked, I would pick it up now.

The color is so nice. The vest fits close but not restrictive. It is very lightweight but warm. I wish the zipper would zip up from the bottom.
I did size up to allow room for layers.

I am glad I ordered the small, because as I gathered from other reviewers it runs big. The color is not at all as show (dark marine blue). It is much darker that the picture show. It is overpriced.

Bought for my wife.Nice color, long and Sliming and warm. Would of given it 5 stars but the micro fiber content seems too little visually.

Excellent quality, lightweight yet toasty.
My reason for returning is that, while I usually am happy with a regular L or petite L (depending on the item's sleeve length), this one was definitely wider across the chest and in the arm holes than others I have purchased. There is some inconsistency in sizing from item to item of LLBean women's clothing, perhaps due to different suppliers. I will order again later, however.

Warm, light weight, great length. The only drawback is that it doesn't zipper up from the bottom.

Runs big. I usually wear small and had to size down. Perfect weight and I love the dark blue (more like peacock). The only reason I don't give 5 stars is it's pretty expensive.

Lightweight and comfy. Looks good over lightweight long sleeve shirt.

I really liked the vest-fit was great since it was a bit oversized. I could not keep it though because I prefer not to wear logos on most of my clothing.

Size runs a little large. Vest rides up while sitting, but hangs at a perfect length while standing.

I really like this vest. It's very comfortable, soft and warm. It does run quite large however. I ordered an XS and it is still loose fitting. I really do like it and wear it though!

I would have given a 5 star, but the vest is petite yet it is very long. I had owned an older version of the vest and it was shorter.

I first bought a medium, but it was way too big. Across the board, I generally wear a M for the "girls," so this vest is large by those standards. The small is still a bit oversized, but I'm going to keep it. Wanted something colorful for traveling and the fluky weather we have in Colorado. Can easily layer a lightweight jacket under. I like the pockets, which will come in handy when traveling, and the fact they all zip.

I ordered this pack away vest to replace one that is worn thin in the "midriff " area. The size I ordered was petite medium. However it is generously wide and very long. Going to be hard to adjust to the extra long length when I am sitting. Bunches up and rides up on a petite torso.

Am I alone in being frustrated when companies like LLBean have a good item and then change the style? I have 2 of these vests...have had them for a few years and absolutely love them. They are warm, fit great, pack up nice and small and are even a bit stylish. So I looked at the new colors this year. First of all, the silver blue color was nothing like the picture. It was very dull. And then the style has changed. It is longer. I did not get longer. I wear petite. The added length totally changed the fit. Such a disappointment. When you have good thing going, don't change it!

I bought this vest a few years ago when the price was reasonable. I love the vest but I'm very glad I bought it when I did, I would never pay the price that it is now ....more than double what I paid. Wait for a REALLY good sale!

This is a comfy, non-down, lightweight vest--just what I was looking for! HOWEVER, do beware that it runs large and is quite long. At 5'6" and 125 pounds, small to med usually fits. With this vest, I wound up exchanging it more than once. Finally wound up with an X-small petite, which fits well. Four stars rather than five solely due to the inconvenience of having to work so hard at getting one that fits. Thanks, L.L. Bean, for your excellent customer service and return policy!

Returned it as logo ruins a white jacket which can be fairly dressy.

I would size up if you have hips and a bit more on top. I find the hips snug and it pulls across my chest a bit but I still LOVE it and wear it constantly. I can fit my iPhone 8 Plus in its otter box defender case in the chest pocket with lots of room to spare (I don't have to try and make it fit like most chest pockets) and it doesn't look awkward with my phone in the pocket. I wear it as a vest or extra warmth under my coat when needed.
It's worth the money they just need to allow for hips and busts when designing women's vests and more.

Large may not mean large with LLBean. It may mean extra large. Examine the charts to be sure it will fit.

Love this vest. It's a little longer in length and I like the extra coverage. But the longer length also means that it folds up at the bottom when I sit, which is a nuisance. I have purchased other (regular length) jackets and vests from LLB in the past which have two-way zippers...why not this one, especially since it's longer? Also, the fabric on the inside of the collar isn't as soft as the outer fabric layer, which makes it scratch my neck. So, after several weeks of scratchy neck and annoying fold-up, I bought some matching polartec with which to line the collar, and a two-way zipper to replace the existing one-way zipper. Now my vest is absolutely perfect, and a lot more convenient and comfortable to wear. If the collar and zipper don't bother you, you'll love the vest.

I expected the vest to be a little more fitted and shapely, but it will do well over bulkier sweaters. It's fitted enough to be worn under a light jacket, but barely. My two other vests from competing brands fit under my long sleeve primaloft jacket perfectly- this may be more of a stand alone vest! The blue color is gorgeous. It's longer than I expected which is nice, and you can tighten the bottom hem to keep out drafts. I love the outer chest pocket and REALLY LOVE the inner chest pocket! My only true disappointment is that the LLBean label is just stamped on rather than sewn or embroidered. I don't care much to wear my brand names on the outside, but I know this is going to peel and look weird until it's all the way gone.

I am 5'6" and weigh 135 pounds and ended up exchanging the small for an extra small. I like the length as it comes to my hips and is roomy enough to wear a fleece underneath and is also okay with just a long sleeved shirt. It packs up into its own pocket so easy for travel. It is not as puffy as a down vest but it is warm. I live in Northern California' and days that are in the low 50's or high 40's when my fleece is just not quite enough or I need protection from the wind the vest is perfect, without adding bulk so I can easily play ball with my dog. It has turned out to be far more versatile than I thought as I wear it both outdoors and in. Just wish it had a two way zipper, but I am happy with the purchase..
