Great body fit and lightweight warmth. Big downside for me is that It doesn't come with a loose, larger hood. The hooded model hood fit like a leotard tight to my head, squashing my hair with no overhang over my forehead to protect from rain, snow or wind. LL Bean needs to consider functionality here. Poor design!

I have been on the fence about this jacket and as others have commented I didn't find it warm enough. I wore it out to try it in 48 deg. and walked around the block putting a warm mountain down vest over it. The wind came right through it to my arms while my chest that was covered by the vest stayed warm. If you are looking for a warm jacket I recommend their new primaloft jacket 512675 that has twice the filling plus the awesome water resistant, rip resistant cordura coating. Great jacket. And I hope they make that one next year with a removable hood and snaps over the zipper and offer it also in a vest. Just my thoughts. If a person is exercising and active this jacket may work for you. I'm keeping it as a sweater or base layer under my warmer jackets and will probably enjoy it this Spring. I like the style, comfort, marine blue color, and many pockets. I would recommend it as a sweater or light jacket for warmer weather to others but couldn't if one wanted a winter or warmer jacket.

It just felt "frumpy" I ordered an XS but compared to other major outdoor wear, this XS was like a MEDIUM to me.

Cute coat but definitely not warm! I probably would have not gotten it had i known this. I live down South so I'm not wearing it in super cold temps.

I got this for Christmas and wore it layered over a heavy fleece layer and long sleeved shirt on a mild Virginia winter day. The wind went right through the fabric. I was miserable on our family walk. This is really an early fall/spring jacket. So disappointed.

Has not been cold enough to comment. For now, I think the jacket is a bit overpriced. I find that misses (reg) Tees' sleeves are too short; also, there is a great difference in the weight of the fabrics. Most of the fabrics are of good quality (color, laundering and pilling).

Very big, had to return. I am 5'4" 122 lbs and ordered a small. It was huge. I wish the actual garment measurements were available before purchasing, had to return and didn't want to order/return XXSP and XXS and XSP and XS just to figure out what size I need.

Loved the color, well made, but . . . did not meet my expectations for warmth. It's a fall jacket - not for winter. I was cold wearing it outside when it was 35 degrees. Will not likely wear it in colder weather. I also was very disappointed that the zipper was only one way. Based on my past experience with LL Bean outerwear and the price of this jacket, I expected a two-way zipper that can open from both top and bottom. This jacket is not LL Bean at its finest.

my fault, but i ordered the size i needed but i am between a petit and a regular and ordered the regular and it is just too long. When i have ordered the petit i find the sleeves especially a little short. otherwise it is nice weight jacket for the fall and as a layer in the winter.

I just got this jacket. Not what I was expecting. Very light weight. Wore a long sleeve sweater with mock neck under it and was cold in 35 degree weather. Late spring or early fall jacket. Pretty pricey for a jacket like this. Maybe worth half the price.

It's a great jacket except for the zipper. It unzippers from the bottom. I oversized the jacket so it wouldn't strain the zipper since I read of some complaints. Will send it back. I also prefer 2-way zippers.

Returned. Arms too long and weird shape that sticks out on the hips. Color and construction were good.

I've worn this jacket for a few seasons now. It's not very warm unless shoveling snow on a calm day. Wind blows right thru it so often I wear a wind breaker over it. The horrible zipper splits nearly every time I use it. The fit was odd, tight thru shoulders & top of sleeves so I ordered up a size so to be able to comfortable wear a sweater under it to provide more warmth. At the time I kept the jacket because it is lightweight and I hate heavy jackets. Regret that decision every time I wear it. Should have returned it or something warmer & wind resistant.

Love the styling, fit, colors, pockets, sleeve length, and zippers. Hate that most parts of the jacket are less than 1/8" thick and it feels like there is NO insulation in places. Not warm at all. LLBean, please make some lightweight, non-down jackets styled like this one, but put some actual insulation in them. I don't care whether it's packable or not.

I was expecting more warmth from this coat. While outside pumping gas in 36 degrees with light wind, it felt like the wind was blowing right through. I like how thin the coat is and the true to size fit, but wish it was a little warmer. I do have room to layer bulkier clothing underneath, though.

It felt frumpy, not sporty. :-( I originally purchased this jacket 6 years ago. Was so excited to buy a replacement because it had been my favorite coat year round for 6 years! Sorely disappointed when I tried on the new jacket. Was longer on the back side, baggier fit, and sleeves were tight in shoulders but baggy and long. Looked like a "Mom" coat, not a sporty coat. I will be returning it. I am so disappointed.

Very soft and light weight but too big and the sleeves were inches to long for a petite. Have to return.

It's just not for my body shape. The arms are too wide and bulky, the hip area is too wide, too. I've had a few Bean jackets in the past and P-XS has been my size, but not this time.

i do not like the navy color with the pale blue zipper. It is not the marine blue I was looking for. I bought the off white last year and loved it but the contrasting zipper on the blue cheapens the look. And I do wish the LLBean symbol was not on the front of the coat.

I like the jacket, but it isn't very warm now the snow is falling. They should call this a sweater not a winter jacket.

I love the look of this jacket. However it's not warm at all. I wore it this morning over a turtleneck sweater. It was 35 degrees out and I was VERY cold!! I had expected to wear it with layers when I'm traveling, but I don't think this jacket will work after all. I'm keeping the jacket, but I'm disappointed that it's not what I expected.

My teenaged daughter has this jacket (in ivory) and loved it so much she convinced me to get one of my own. I ordered it in the gorgeous Juniper color and was shocked that the lining was a horrible green/navy print reminiscent of a bad 1990s sofa. As hers was lined in the same material inside and out, and the photos online do NOT show the lining at all, I assumed it would be the same with the Juniper color. The jacket is amazing (super light, and shockingly warm), and the outside color is even better in person, but I am disappointed I am going to have to keep it zipped so the lining doesn't show. :(. Updated photos that show linings are desperately needed. So conflicted about returning it!!

The jacket isn't warm enough given the temperatures for which it was supposed to be comfortable. Since that was my primary reason for buying it, the jacket is much less useful. I have shopped at LL Bean for Over forty years and this is a great disappointment. It erodes my trust in the products.

This was true to size, I guess, except that if you wear winter clothes under it--sweaters, sweatshirts, etc--it would be too snug. Arms felt snug even without winter clothes underneath.
