Sleeves were too long the hood came down to my eyebrows and couldn't be adjusted

I loved the look and style of this jacket. Loved the blue color. I read reviews that said it ran small, and to order up for layering. I thought it was true to size, I should not have ordered up. In the 2 videos for the jacket, it emphasized warmth, and was seen being worn in the snow. Loved that it was advertised as lightweight and packable. The reality is, I am replacing a jacket of similar style, which I've worn for 15 years from a competitor, and was 100% happy, except that it had no hood, which I always wish I had. I have worn this Bean jacket 3 times, in between 30 and 50 degrees, and it was ok at 50, but I was cold at 30. Even at 50, the weather was very windy, and I could feel a breeze through the zipper. there is no fabric reinforcement around the zipper. It feels like two thin layers of ski jacket fabric. So, sadly, I have to return it. For the price, it is not a good value, and seems more like a spring or fall jacket than a winter one.

This lightweight windproof jacket is exactly what I wanted for winter hiking--but it's a poor fit in petite. The sleeves are about 2 inches too long. The jacket hangs poorly, especially in the back, because the shoulders are too big, and the armholes are too low, coming down to the bottom of my bra. When I held the jacket at the shoulders and lifted it up about 1 1/2 inches, THEN it fit, and looked good. I have similar problems with LL Bean shirts. A Google search shows that the average height of women in the US and in the world is 5 feet 4 inches--the top of the petite range. I don't know what it's so hard to find clothes that are properly proportioned for us.

I've purchased two of these jackets in previous years and really liked them. Imagine my surprise when this coat arrived with almost no insulation. Previous years jackets were well insulated and worked well under a waterproof shell. This one is extremely thin. The attached hood is worth having. Need a waterproof, windproof shell.

Very wide sizing, has a weird shape that makes hips look giant.

I've had this jacket for 18 months. It's comfortable and warm and works well as a layer or a jacket on its own. Unfortunately it's now noticably leaking stuffing such that people constantly comment on it. I haven't treated it harshly or pierced it with anything sharp so I'm disappointed and surprised at the low quality.

I purchased both a Large and X-Large. In the past, the Large fit well with room for another sweater and scarf. This one was too small. The X-Large fit better but the material is very thin and cold. I live in the Bay Area and it wasn't satisfactory. Returned.

About 80% of my clothes have been purchased from LL Bean, so I have been a loyal customer for decades. I purchased this jacket for use in temps of about 25 to 45 degrees. I typically wore it for running errands in the car, not much for outdoor activities. It was okay for that, though I usually wore a sweater or lightweight fleece underneath. I liked it for its small size when stuffed, plus the chest and hand warmer pockets. I did not like the hood; it exposes your entire face - not good for cutting the wind. But recently I noticed that the insulation is coming out of the back, and so it's getting pretty thin. I finally gave up and sent it back. Check out the photos.

Very disappointed in this jacket. It's a great looking jacket and fits true to size.. This jacket is good only for in-between seasons. I wear the jacket with a shirt and light wool sweater. Not very warm under 40 degrees especially on a windy cold day. Too expensive for a jacket that can only be worn in the fall and spring.

I was misled into thinking this thin Primaloft jacket would be as warm as other Primaloft thin coats I've had in the past.
It's NOT anything near a winter jacket for New Jersey. It's a spring jacket perhaps. Anything below 45-50 you'd be cold in this jacket. I had high hopes for the price.

It's rated at +35 to -15. It's barely warm enough for the +35. I wore it with a shirt and sweater on a 15 degree day and the wind and cold cut right through. I ordered it on three features and the reviews: attractive, lightweight, warm. It's attractive and lightweight, but it's way overrated on warmth factor, which doesn't make it much of a true winter coat for the midwest.

It just is not cut right as shoulders in medium are too big

The color of this jacket is beautiful but the fit is way off. The arms are to long for a petite size jacket.
This is definitely not a jacket warm enough for a Minnesota winter, it is extremely thin. Back it goes.

The first time I wore this coat I was very happy. The second time I wore it I noticed feathers oozing out of a flaw in the fabric. White feathers on a dark coat is not a good look, so I pulled it out. I wasn't sure what to do. The third time I wore it, more of the same only this time the feather would not come out. It seemed to be a part of a clump that could not get through the flaw in the fabric. Now I'm stuck with a blob of white on the sleeve of my coat. I paid way too much for a coat that I'm only comfortable in when I walk the dog.

Positives for this jacket were the color & pockets. The stitching is not as nice as my old LLBeans jacket and the fit was boxy. I decided not to keep the jacket.

Not as good as my previous primaloft. It is longer, comes down over my hips, which the last one didn't and I didn't really want. Also it feels lighter, but also not as warm. A cold wind cuts right through it. Also the breast pocket is just that, it goes over my entire breast. If I put anything at all in there it looks like a big lump over my left breast. The pre vi is one was an interior zippered pocket and sat higher on the chest, so you could slip something in and not make a big bulge. I'm overall disappointed and wish I could have an exact copy of the jacket I got 3 years ago. I plan to return this one.

Sizing is totally off. Bean's chart would have you buy a size that is at least one or 2 sizes below what you end up needing. The jacket is ok. Not great. Like the light weight, the tight cuff on the sleeve. Color varies according to particular garment. Not exactly quality control! I kelts it because I really needed a jacket in that "warmth zone". And there isn't much else out there. I only recommend this if you have tried all the other options meeting your criteria at Bean and elsewhere.

I'm 5'4 124lbs, and I ordered the petite small. The jacket was so big that you could fit two of me in it. It was also mid thigh in length.and I ordered the petite! I don't usually have this issue. It seemed like nice quality but the sizing is not for shorter slim ladies, I unfortunately had to return.

I always buy LL Bean jackets because they are high in quality. They need to change the rating on this one because it does NOT keep you warm. When I was testing it out, I walked my dog several times in 40+ degrees and I was cold. If you want something lightweight and warm (but bulky), buy the 850 jacket. I needed a light jacket for spring and fall anyway, so I'm keeping this one instead of returning it. I would say this jacket is comfortable for 50 degrees and above. Definitely not worth the money if you're looking for warmth.

This jacket is rated for +35 to -15 but it is not. I wore it on a walk at 30 degrees with two layers underneath and I was cold!

I wore this jacket yesterday for the first time, in Maryland, temp outside was 42 degrees, wind blowing, and I felt the wind coming thru the sleeves, did not keep me warm. I returned the jacket for another one. This one had the ratings on it, but did not meet those standards.

Upper arm area way too tight for the average plus sized body frame. The item quality seemed fine, just a poor fit.

I have a black med. regular Primaloft Packaway hooded jacket I'd ordered a couple of years ago. I was so happy to see the berry color available this year so, I ordered regular/size. medium same as my black one that fits perfect. So very sad to say the new berry one fits totally different than my black one. Sleeves are way too long, jacket is longer, zipper pocket on chest is not flattering (as there is no quilting on that section), elastic is tight around hood opening and makes it bunch around neck (no more cinch), the waist is too fitted (the other style wasn't boxy and was cut for layering if need be) and the bottom of the new style wings out on the sides weirdly. L.L. Bean, sometimes design "improvements" are just the opposite. I'm returning it.
