I like the styling of this jacket and its waffle exterior. I value the warmth and windproof protection that it provides. The dark blue color was what I wanted, more of a dark royal blue than a dark navy, with some brightness in the color. The yellow color in the small LL Bean label was the only thing that marred the overall look of the jacket.

Have worn this mainly as a layering piece, does excellent job for warmth and blocking wind under an outer garment or by itself....replaces regular fleece, hands down. Love that it breathes very well, so is comfortable. Have 3 colors!!

I've been looking for a replacement for my reliable wind challenger fleece, which keeps me toasty down to about 35 and blocks the wind as advertised. I used it as a layer under a field jacket to maintain comfort in windswept winters in the open field. This jacket keeps comfort to almost that temperature and I can feel the wind a bit. That still places it ahead of most competitors' layers. The tall collar helps regulate body temperature well and is nearly as utilitarian as a hood. For us tall folks the news is good: ample proportions and coverage plus, no elastic to bind up the wrists. I'm already looking forward to the next cool season so I can wear it again.

My wife commented how the wind had a biting chill right through her non fleece jacket. I had a tee shirt layer, a cotton sport shirt and this fleece jacket and was just fine. Nice and stable. Not chilled and not hot. Guess it was upper 30's and 25 mph wind. Did take it off in the store shopping. Good light jacket!

You used to make these jackets for women. They were perfect for Cape Cod. Please consider doing so again. Mine is getting shabby.

Love this fleece jacket. I found it to be heavy and roomy enough to wear over another fairly thick long sleeve item but comfy and soft enough to wear just over a t-shirt too! Love all the zipper pockets too.

Really like this fleece jacket. Lightweight but feels very warm being it is windproof. It was purchased to replace another LLBean fleece that I have had for nearly ten years. That one became too big for me after losing a lot of weight.

Classic style. Quality materials and construction. Easy to layer, comfortable under a shell, and surprisingly wind proof. Field tested and approved. Looks great too!

My husband loves this fleece and he's had many versions of it over the years, but the zippers seem to always break after a year or so. Hoping this one will last longer.

This, like the LL Bean sweater fleece, fits a little more tightly than other Bean garments. It looks OK; just hope that I don't gain any weight!. In terms of warmth, I haven't tried it outside as yet.

Overall this is a great jacket and well worth the price. It is definitely wind resistant, not wind proof. It is comfortable and the material is very nice to the touch. If the other colors came in single colors I would purchase another.

I absolutely love this fleece jacket! It really does block the wind and looks fantastic. The style is modern and flattering, making it perfect for both outdoor activities and casual wear. The material feels high-quality and keeps me warm even on breezy days. The only thing I wish it had is a more elastic sleeve cuff to keep the sleeves in place. Since it's marketed as windproof, this small detail would make a big difference in sealing out drafts. Without it, the jacket isn't perfectly windproofbut it's still an excellent choice overall.

Very nice jacket all around however I wish I had read the "slightly fitted" part in the description. The fit is for people with a flat stomach. As my stomach is not flat the fit is very tight wheb zipped up.

Great jacket except for one thing. There are no inside pockets. My husband was very disappointed when he discovered this.

overall, this is a great jacket that is way warmer than I had expected given the "warm" rating (this is likely due to the windproof layer cutting down on breathability and helping to trap body heat inside the jacket). The fit description advising that it fits best over a lightweight layer is certainly accurate as it feels a little snugger across the chest and midsection than my sweater fleece jacket that is also labeled as being a "slightly fitted" fit, but a lot of that is probably due to the lack of a windproof membrane and looser fleece "knit" which gives the sweater fleece more give. I bought this jacket to have as a windproof jacket that will get a lot of use down here in the South during what passes for winter with the intent to wear it both as a standalone layer as well as wearing it underneath a hard shell for days that are both cold and wet. And while I haven't gotten a chance to test it out as a mid-layer, it certainly holds its own as a standalone layer to keep me warm by blocking the wind and keeping me warm, but I would certainly appreciate a bit more give room in the midsection (there are side panels that don't have the windproof backing, and those provide some give, but it is important to note that the fit on this jacket feels a bit slimmer than other jackets in the same size and that supposedly have the same "fit").

Very happy with purchase - the only glitch was that a "Men's" jacket ended up on the "Women's" rack, necessitating an extra trip to Paramus...salesperson was very helpful though!.

Had this for a few years. Just used it to go cross country skiing in 20 degree weather. Completely wind proof and warm with a fleece underneath. It runs big. I have a medium and I had room for a sweater fleece underneath.

I really like the way the jacket looks and feels. It is a good jacket to wear in the late fall and early winter. The only drawback I feel is the precautions necessary to wash it.

Great light weight jacket. Wore in on a walk on a very windy day. Very effective blocking the wind. Didn't give 5 stars because sleeves are too long. Being that I'm female, probably be great for a man.

It's hard to find a fleece that's fully wind proof. This jacket is very useful because of this essential feature. The checkered look however, is pretty ugly. Therefore, it's more of a functional piece of clothing for me. Too bad LL Bean doesn't offer a solid version. I subtracted one star for aesthetics, however, this may not be an issue for you.
