I love the tech utilized in this piece. I LOVE the versatility in use across a wide range of temps. However......the design/cut of the jacjket where the arms and torso meet is very tight. Reaching forward is a strain and cuts into my armpits. If I size up, the abdomen is too large, but still has the same issue, the arm holes are restrictive . It is evident even to people who see me wearing the jacket when I attempt to bend over and tie boots, etc. Please make the arm holes more oval shaped. Otherwise, this garment is great.

I was disappointed that I need a fleece jacket underneath. Almost returned yesterday but wasn't happy with the selection available in stores

Not as much filling as the old ones so not as warm. We sent it back. We do like your return policy.

Nice jacket. I would have rated 5 stars except for feathers inside keep puncturing the outer layer and falling out.

My initial reaction was great, I am a bit surprised to have some of the stitching coming apart after just a month of wear.

Like the coat but lots of feathers coming out and zipper broke. We will be bringing it in for an exchange.

Nice sweater/jacket, but I wish there had been some data on the comfort level. Not as warm as I had hoped. But my main gripe is that it has the LL Bean on the front AND the back... why would I want to wear something everywhere that has a brand name? I'm used to covering LL Bean logos in front with a patch of some kind (as do my friends), but now I have to find a patch for the back as well! I'm buying a jacket, not a billboard for your brand! I'd say more, but this format doesn't seem to allow it.

If you wear a watch (who doesn't?) your left cuff will start fraying right away. I wear a standard apple watch, and after a month of wearing it, the fraying was considerable. Would have been easy to uae a more durable fabric, or better yet, a little leather.

Coat is small in chest area. Will be returning it. Would like to get a bigger size, but they don't make a 3xl tall.

I ordered this item 2 years ago and it was my favorite jacket. Ordered it again in October and discovered that the design has been completely changed. The down filled baffles instead of being pencil thin are now a broad hexagon shape. Completely changed the look and feel. I returned it.

This jacket is warm and incredibly light weight. Temperature range listed is spot on. It should have a 5 star rating, but the shell is too delicate. I brushed up a shelf in my garage and the jacket shell ripped. I can easily envision the shell ripping by snagging a tree branch in the woods or in a fall skiing on icy hard packed snow. so unless you're really careful, I can't recommend this jacket. I'm going to be looking for a coat with a nylon or Gore-Tex shell that isn't too heavily insulated to replace this.

The jacket seems well made and is stylish. It fits true to size except the arm holes which are really tight. I'm a pretty thin guy and like a slim fit. But the arm holes are just restring. I tried a similar M size in the store which fit me like a tent and still had pretty snug arm holes. I'm not sure who is doing the sizing for LLBean. But they are way off.

As others have said, this version of the jacket doesn't have the same loft as the old one I bought in 2015.. I've run it through a dryer cycle with tennis balls as recommended but it still doesn't have the loft of my old one.

We bought two of these in August 2019 because my husband wears them in the evening to keep warm. When the zipper broke on the first one he started using the second one. Now that has broken. Customer service is mailing us a return label via the post office and may or may not give us a partial refund after we receive the label and send the jackets back. I am ordering another one for him in the meantime, but because they need to be replaced so soon they are horrendously expensive.
I miss the old days when L.L. Bean cared about its customers.
I gave it two stars, company gives it more?!

Very disappointed in the sizing. Slightly fitted means it does not meet LL Bean sizing norms. I wish LL Bean would adopt one sizing scheme. I returned the item.

Very warm and non-restrictive jacket, but the zipper kept getting stuck and is now very hard to move up and down. Purchased less than a month ago for $200.

Well made, fun color (yellow), good pockets, but too baggy or square cut for me, so I am returning it. For reference, I bought size L, and I am 6'0", 174lbs, chest 42", waist 35". Your results may vary.

not effective as a stand alone coat. requires a hoodie or some sort of turtleneck underneath to be functional. wear it once on a breezy day and you'll understand.

I need to replace my older Bean permaloft. I tried both L Tall and XL version of this jacket and in both cases the arm pit holes were very small. I returned them

I bought the Ultralight 850 before and loved how the L Tall size fit -- nice and trim. But this new version has much more room in the midsection -- now it looks baggy. My wife and I agreed: no way! Suggest LLB go back to the more trim fit for L Tall items.

It is true the jacket is warm and lightweight but the fabric is thin and fragile. I bought this at Christmas and tried to return it 25 days later at the Mansfield Crossing Store. The jacket had a tear (not on the seam, but down the middle) and I am not sure how it even happened. I wanted to return the jacket because I do not the think the fabric quality is worth it for $200. The customer service at the Mansfield store was so rude and made me uncomfortable. The staff member points to the "new return policy" and aggressively tells me "if the tear was on a seam I could replace it but other than that...I am not responsible to replace this coat due to wear and tear! Again, the jacket is 25 days old. He then reached for some clear fabric tape, place it over the tear and said " thats the best I can do". Cannot even believe how disappointed I am with LLBean.

I bought the down sweater around November 2018.
I didn't used it last year and started to use it this winter.
After about 3 months in MA winter the coat started to
rip apart in several places and a LOT of down is falling from the jacket
every day. I went to the Mansfield store to replace it and got a very bad customer service. The store manager told me that I tear it apart and didn't believe that it happen due to defective materials or craftsmanship. They didn't let me to replace it with a new jacket. I was very disappointed. I will have to look for other brands even that I really liked the jacket before it started to tear apart.
