not what I thought it was--I am sure it is a fine jacket, but not what I thought I ordered

Lacks liner, feels like wearing a vinyl tent. Bought as a morning jacket for chilly spring and fall mornings, but lack of liner makes it chilly.

The cut of these jackets is very narrow. It definitely is NOT made for men with broad shoulders or more muscular chests. Tried sizing up but this was a consistent problem.

Was looking for a spring/fall jacket with a hood to replace one I had for over 20 years. Jacket looks great, fits me well, and keeps me dry in the light rain. My issue is with its (lack of a) liner. As a warmer weather jacket its not designed for colder temps which is fine, but without the liner its like wearing a nylon tent. The material gets cold and sticks to your bare skin if you're not wearing long sleeves underneath. Since my area of the country tends to have cool mornings and warmer afternoons in the spring, it makes this jacket less than ideal. A thin liner would have been easy to incorporate and it suffers without. I doubt I'll keep this one 20 years and I wouldnt buy it again.

I returned almost immediately after I put it on. I love my L.L. Bean but this rain coat is not it. The front zipper catches on the overlapping water proofing, the sizing runs big, and the jacket felt like the seams on the liner would come unglued after one wash. Would it keep water out? Probably. But getting the jacket on would be annoying every time, and I had no confidence in its durability given the quality. Give me their shirts and sweatshirts every day.

I'm 5'10, 170 lbs, and have always been very satisfied with the fit of Bean's size large outergarments. Not this time. The cut is tight, the sleeves narrow, and its not suitable for layering. Very disappointed!

My husband wanted to replace an old LL Bean jacket, which is both incredibly warm and lightweight. It traveled well and could easily fit in a suitcase without taking up too much room. Unfortunately, the Men's Trail Model Rain Jacket did not fit the bill. This jacket fit him poorly, and he felt that it was not an adequate replacement for his old jacket, which LL Bean is no longer making. Alas, we shipped it back today.

I ordered this Rainjacket to replace the LL Bean Rain Jacket I bought 15 years ago size large ( interior frabic fraying) This Rain Jacket size Large is not as large as my 15 year old one. When I compared one to the other. It is smaller and not as roomy. I am size male 42 and all my clothes are compatible with that size. I am sorry I am going to return this Jacket. Some one Skimped on the styling of this Rain Jacket. Shame

This raincoat has less features than previous versions and even though I bought the same size it came in smaller than the previous raincoat, and this after I waited 2 months for it to come in

The jacket looks good, fits well and is a great windbreaker. However, when I have worn it in the rain, even for brief periods, the inside of the jacket becomes damp. My experience with this jacket does not align with the website's description of this jacket as a a waterproof rain jacket.

Feels very thin and cheap, more a poncho than a jacket. Also crafted for slender or smaller men. If you have large shoulders or upper arms, this will restrict your movement.

It'd be okay for someone who wanted its features. I was looking for something like my old outer layer that not only kept me dry but had fabric so I didn't come into the outer layer and had lots of pockets.

Too tight under the arms. I'm 5'5" and 150 lbs. M should fit comfortably. I will exchange for L.

This appeared to be the direct successor to my 30 year old jacket. It is not. The inner surface feels like a cheap iron-on plastic and is quite uncomfortable. I would return it but that would leave me without any on an upcoming trip.

This jacket is okay if you are running around town or going to the mailbox. This is not made for hiking. I took this on a 10 mile hike and I was wet for 8 miles of it. Did not hold up to the rain at all.

Sizing is way too small, by at least a full size too small

It's simple. The rain jacket lets moisture through if you spend more than 20 minutes outside in the rain or snow. Might as well buy a nylon jacket for half the price. Wasn't expecting waterproof, but come on.

I'm a large guy but never have an issue with XXXL clothing. This jacket is very tight on me and quite frankly is more like a jacket I would pay $20 for, not $100.

Run small. Watch for membrane peeling on inside before Beans new warranty expires.

This is a great looking and fitting jacket. I had my first chance to use it as a rain jacket while shooting sporting clays in intermittent drizzle. The outer shell absorbed the rain and became soaked. The inner shell felt damp and uncomfortable. I am returning it today.

I wear a medium in just about everything, so I originally purchased a medium of this jacket. Loved it aside from the fact that it pulled tight across my pretty average sized shoulders and upper back even when just putting it on, so I swapped it out for a large, which was still tight through the same area. Just something with the cut I guess, but I'll be returning the large as well unfortunately (good test of LL Bean's return policy, though, and can confirm it's great).
If you can try it on in a store and the fit is good, I'm confident that it'll be an amazing all-purpose rain jacket for you. It's light and folds up small but kept the rain out and felt durable.

This is a pretty great coat, and I loved the color that it came in (bright yellow). My husband wore it when he biked into work in the rain and on rainy dog walks. However, after a few years it started to leak like mad and the waterproofing came off along the shoulders especially. I would not recommend.

Ordered XL reg because XL usually gives me more room for movement in active wear. This was perhaps the tightest fit I have ever seen in anything labeled XL. The description says "slightly fitted," but sleeve hem on my jacket is half way up my shoulder to my neck. No room for movement at all. Reaching forward causes the sleeves to pull up several inches. Description says "falls below hip." Well, yes, but barely. Not much protection from rain if doing chores that involve bending over. I have several LLB shirts sized XL that are far roomier than this jacket. There is something seriously wrong about the sizing on the jacket I received.
