This is a great jacket for wearing in the wind and rain. I wear it over my regular coats to stay dry. I am tall and thin and have found the arm and jacket lengths are fine (not too short). Also, this jacket does not bulk out at the bottom in the back, it hangs straight.

First the only con: It's not very breathable. I hiked around Edinburgh for three days in the cold wind and rain and was hot and sweaty underneath. Interest concept to be both hot and cold as well as sweaty and gross at the same time.
But it fits well, offers great protection from water, and offers decent protection from the wind. Balls up super small to fit in a pack or even a pocket. Overall I'm a big fan, really glad I purchased this jacket.

I gave this to my husband as a birthday gift. He walks a lot and will walk in the rain so I wanted something that was waterproof. Although he hasn't had an opportunity to wear it in the rain yet, he is extremely happy with it. It has lots of pockets in it that he is happy with and he loves the color.

I am very pleased with my rain jacket purchase. It is light weight, waterproof and washable. I use it for work, hiking and golf. I bought an X-Large so I could dress in layers. I definitely would recommend this model if your looking for comfort and staying dry. Worth the price.

I purchased this for my husband, and he absolutely loves it! Waterproof, and thin enough to layer, but not too thin...just right. The color is a beautiful blue. Highly recommended!

A raincoat that performs its primary mission of keeping me dry. It is manufactured well with thoughtful design for comfort, accessibility, and function.

This is a very basic rain jacket. It is great Quality & looks nice on my husband. We travel quite a bit and he brings this with him for any anticipated wet/cold areas. It's light enough to put in a backpack and to wear over layers to provide that little extra warmth. He really likes it.

I have owned 5 of these jackets over the last 12 years. They are perfect everyday go-to jacket for the cool wet 40-60 degree winters in San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle. Over time I would wear them out or the lining of the hood would start to flake off from UV exposure. LL Bean replaced a few for free, but other times I just bought a new one. At $79 for a jacket you wear almost daily for two to three years, I was getting more than my moneys worth! Fancier Gortex jackets that last longer or breathe better cost $2-300 at least. This jacket has just been re-styled. I haven't used it yet (bought on summer sale), but I can tell you about the re-style. Compared to my old jacket, I can see three changes: different liner material, front chest pocket has a different zip, the cuffs are still velcro adjustable, but the elastic section is gone making it less easy to slip them over a glove. The fit has also changed - comparing side by side with the old jacket - the shoulders, armholes, and sleeves are all slightly narrower. The fit change is fine for milder weather, but won't work with thicker layers of fleece or sweaters.

While I have not had to wear it in the rain yet, it fits well and seems to be very well constructed.

Not too much to say about this rain jacket aside from it performing as I had expected for a Bean product. I will happily state that it is generously sized-enough so that a snug-fitting sweatshirt or long sleeved liner has plenty of room to be worn underneath. That's a nice feature because it keeps your skin from direct contact with the inner face of the jacket, sleeves, etc. Also like the Velcro wrist closures and the Velcro adjustment to keep the hood out of your eyes. Smart design.

Excellent quality & made to last. Though I'm a traditional size large, I had to get an XL because of the slightly fitted style. It's a raincoat so I like the extra room, but would prefer the traditional fit. Aside for the fit, it is excellent jacket & I would recommend this reliable brand to anyone.

I bought this rain jacket specifically for a 9 day trip to Scotland. It was a wise purchase, because it rained 9 out of 9 days. The jacket performed great. Fully waterproof and the hood worked well. I intentionally chose an XL so I could wear it over layers of regular clothes. It still was a little large, but fine. It is very light weight and can be rolled into a small ball and easily packed or stuffed in a pack.

I have bought several rain jackets over the years and the Trail Rain Jacket beats them all for fit, looks, performance and price. It's a wonderful jacket - LL Bean doesn't disappoint!

By far the best waterproof (and breathable ) rain jacket I have ever owned. The fit and finish is also superior to the last one I owned.
