Great coat! Very warm and everything I hoped it would be.

So I bought this a little over a month ago because winter here in Idaho is approaching and I am always a bit cold walking my dog every morning in the park. This year has been especially cold due to the artic blast that has descended upon us the first of November. I am very happy with this purchase. I have used it every day since I bought it and it always stands up to whatever the weather brings. Today was the coldest day so far, 13 degrees F with about a 10 mph wind, and I was perfectly comfortable. In fact near the end of my walk (20 minutes) I felt like I was starting to sweat just a touch. I usually wear a T shirt with a wool sweater under the parka when it's this cold, otherwise just a long sleeve T. As far as sizing, I'd say it fits a little big, probably to accommodate other layers. I wear a large shirt size unless I'm using it as a base layer where I want it to fit tight, then a medium. I ordered a medium parka and it's just right.

Great lightweight but warm parka for those cold days and nights. A little longer in length for protection in snow and freezing rain

I bought this before. Warm, especially with the Hood and easily cared for. The zippered pockets within the other pockets are a nice feature.

Warm and well made. So glad the long sizing gave my son more length in the sleeves and torso.

I love the jacket I purchased a large True to size I tried it on. It fits very well not too long yet not too Small I haven't worn it out because the weather here in New York is still warm. But I know when I am going to be wearing it this winter I will absolutely enjoy it I can feel the warmth when I tried it on. I would definitely recommend to a friend. also I chose the gray I really like the color.

Great coat. Wore it during a really cold week in April on Mt. Desert Island, and didn't even feel the chill!!

Ordered the Large Regular, it fits well. It is warm and comfortable; pleased with this purchase.

My husband didn't get to wear it yet, because we bought it when it was not that cold anymore here, but it looks great on him. It seems it will keep him warm when the next winter comes.

It is very warm, doesn't feel bulky or heavy, maybe a tad short in the arms for me.

I bought this jacket for my husband. It was a Great jacket for our trip to Salt Lake City. It was 11 degrees and we both felt fine. I bought the women's jacket for myself.

I bought this same parka in 2015 and it was still in perfect shape. I, however, had lost a lot of weight and needed a smaller size, so I reordered it, even in the same color.. There were a few changes, some for the better and some not. On the plus side, the zipper is more rugged and has sturdy leather pulls, and the hood it removeable. On the other hand, the two large, very useful internal pockets have been eliminated and the small zipper pocket for the phone has been moved inside the jacket where it is less accessible. I still recommend it wholeheartedly.

I bought this parka based on the web site description. I have a long association of consuming LL Bean products, so I knew the description would be accurate and the product would be of high quality. It surpasses my expectations, which were already high. Subtleties such as the double slash pockets and the way the hood drawstrings fit the head with a small brim to keep rain and bright sun from the eyes were not mentioned, but are highly appreciated.

My husband is from Michigan but has lived in Florida for about 35+ years. He had work in Chicago in the middle of February and needed a "warm" jacket. Every day of his trip I spoke with him and every day he told me how much he loved that coat. Temperatures in the 20's and below never got through that coat. One of the best purchases we have ever made.

Love this parka! Light weight but great insulation. Simple and clean design, no useless stuff. Easily suited to urban as well as outdoor rural use. Great fit.

Very happy with this parka. We've had a frigid winter in Michigan this year, and it keeps me warm even when temps fall to the single digits. I wish it had more than one interior pocket (and that the one it does have was larger) but that is my only mild complaint.

I almost didn't buy this parka. I thought of the ways the design had changed since I purchased virtually the same coat 8+ years ago. The pockets had changed, snaps had changed and a couple of minor details weren't the same. They don't make as many long coats for men as for women and alternative to this coat were expensive, or much heavier and were missing some necessary features. A competitor had a coat that got my interest...for $499. Never mind. This coat is a great value. It is warm (I live in New England). It is a good value for the price and I would buy it again without hesitation. I did say it was true to size. Here is the thing: I have multiple Bean coats and rain jackets and some fit well as medium and some as large. I tried a medium at the Bean store and it was too small. Med Tall would not have worked. I am narrow in the shoulder and it still would't have fit right. No question. Large fits me but if you are about my height but more than 175-180 lbs suggest you might need one size up.

Very warm jacket. Good value. Buy a size larger than you would normally do.
