This is a very nice anorak. it was a bit tight for me where size large is too big.
Unfortunately I had to return it. I was charged for shipping both ways.

Happy to see the return of the Anorak! Been a faithful fan wearing since the late 1970's. Thinner fabric will work for summer... wish it was not a slim cut to allow seasonal layering. Please bring back more colors and woman's sizing.

Bought to replace my Superdry anorak that I bought in the U.K. Unlike the Superdry anorak this "coat" has no quilted lining. The cuffs on the sleeves are uncomfortable and the hood is pathetically oversized - I'm a big guy but cannot imagine the monster whose head would fit the hood. The drawstrings used to tighten the hood are equally pathetic. On a positive note it was good to see that Bean has tall sizes. I am sure the shell fabric will work well in a strong wind, provided you wear something substantial underneath. In conclusion, I am a bit disappointed by the quality. I would not wear this anorak to a football game otherwise you'd freeze to death.

The jacket is great. The hood is way too big. Needs a strap / drawcord to make the hood adjustable.

I recently wore it to an outdoor concert. The rain repelled for about two hours, then it failed. I was drenched.

I've had this for a few years now. It is definitely more of a stylish piece than a functional piece: it is lightweight and comfy but not really warm and more of a breeze breaker than a wind breaker... I am not sure where they get off calling it "water resistant" though.

This anorak looks nice and fits great. Like it in nautical navy. It has a hood and kangaroo pouch. My only complaint is the drawstrings on the hood are cheap and flimsy, too thin & the strings on the bottom of it that tighten the anorak to your waist are also very cheap & flimsy. I'm surprised at LL Bean. They usually make everything of good quality.

It's an OK-looking pullover, but it's not made of flexible or breathable material. It seems to me that it is made of older technology.

The jacket would be perfect if it zipped all the way down, and if the pockets had zippers.

Fits, tightmy fault? Didn't go for the lined real deal. I do like it, tho, and around here in mid state Maine we've had to use it as a layer and mist rain. It's what I wanted and my d-i-law got it for me.

Purchased 3 separate XLT items this year from the bean and one was too big, one was too small, and one fit correctly. This item was unfortunately too small which is odd because a rain jacket should have some room to wear with a hoodie or something else but it was very tight.

Looks cool but the material has no stretch to it at all. It get a little bound up of you try to wear anything under it. I realize it's a windbreaker but it has almost no insulating/warming property at all. I like it but I don't love it like my other bean items.

Ordered a Large Tall for my son, 6'5". It fits perfectly. Not sure if he will be able to layer a sweatshirt under it. Definitely not a roomy fit. The arms just meet his wrist as well as jacket to waist. I would say it runs small.

I bought this anorak because it was sunny yellow and sky blue. Online. When it arrived it was mustard yellow, smoky blue and such a disappointment!

Excellent color and pattern. Fit was a little smaller than expected, especially considering I ordered and XXL tall and usually wear a regular large, but usually I order up for things to be baggy, and I'm glad I did. However, I unfortunately discovered in a rain storm in Florida that the arms are not waterproof. The body is, the hood is, and manages to successfully cover my big head, but the arms are not water proof. I hope this is resolved in some way.

Waited for this on backorder because I love the design, but I would not listen to the description saying it's slightly fitted. I am 6'1 and 185 and got a large, but it's too big. Going to try to return for a medium tall instead.

I had bought several of these Supplex anoraks from Bean's over the past several decades. They are just a great item. But...the one I got this past December is not as good as the previous models. It is thinner, lacks one of the elastic pulls to tighten up over your stomach, the elastic is really thin, and the garment seems to be cut smaller.
I wore my older model outdoors this morning then switched to the new one this afternoon to compare.
The difference is significant. The new model is not better than the old model. It is less warm, blocks less wind, and you can feel cold rain more.
The good news is that the Bean Anorak is still far, far better than any of the Polyester models you see in all the outdoor stores. It does breath, still is wearable and comfortable, does repel rain, and fits okay. My old anorak is XL tall, the new 2X tall but they seem to be the same size.
The decline in overall quality shows though.
No longer one of the best pieces of clothing you can buy anywhere, just adequate.

I bought this a few months ago I wear it a lot unfortunately one day I decided to pull it my sleeves unfortunately the elastic cuffs never went back the way they used to be, before they were nice with a snug fit and now they are loose and stayed like that so I don't recommend to pull up your sleeves

I bought thiis to replace a very old anorak of another brand. That jacket was very light, did not have a hood, but did have a drawstring at the neck and velcro adjustments at the cuffs. Thus, one could adjust the ventilation to suit the temperature. This jacket has neither of those.
What it does have is a hood. So when it rains, you have to put it up or it gets full of water. And then you lose most peripheral vision. And you have to wad up your hat and stuff it in the pocket. Plus, if ithe hood is down and there's any wind from behind, if flops up and hits you in the back of the head.
From the featured picture of this Mountain Classic, it isn't at all obvious that it does have a hood - a popular, but in my opinion, nearly useless appendage. It's my fault that I didn't examine the other picutures before ordering.
But it's Bean's fault that they designed it with a clingy fabric that is very difficult to get on and off over any sort of soft finish shirt, the Bean's chamoise shirt for example.
I'll keep it, but I'm not really pleased with the product.

Lighter weight than I was looking for. Good as a wind breaker and that's about it.

Anyone who thinks this is a good rain jacket has either never been outside or has never owned an actual rain jacket. More than 20minutes outside in anything more than a mist and water will begin to soak through. Don't be cheap like me, buy gortex. On the upside, it looks great and is good against wind (and maybe if you coated it in water-proofing spray it could be a camping/backpacking jacket), but that's about it.

Sizing is off. Ordering Big and Tall size. Fabric is not flexible. Feels rough. Too tight for other clothing I got in the same size. Unfortunately, I returned, but I liked the Colors and Color blocking.
