This is a truly great vest EXCEPT it doesn't have any inside pockets. Your other vests have big pockets on the inside - this should be no exception. Other than that bump in the road however the weight and comfort of the vest are great.

I have purchased 2 fleece vests in the past. They were excellent. This vest is disappointing without inside pockets. I doubt I will buy another.

Not the thick well fitting vest I have purchased in the past ...black is more like a graphite, not true black. No outside chest pocket...it's ok, I wouldn't buy another one though...

I bought this to replace an old Bean vest that looked similar. I was hoping this would be the same as my old one that was lined which made it wind resistant, a chest cell phone pocket on my old one is also not there. If you want a plain fleece vest this will do but it didn't fit my needs.

I bought it in MAINE and should have tried it before I left. But all my clothes are XL bad didn't feel it would be smaller.

Disappointed that the bean counters at Bean have started to take away features from their outerwear. So many of their fleece vests and jackets are being decontented - which is very troubling. This vest no longer includes a zippered chest pocket that most men nowadays need/ want for a phone and/or wallet. Ideally there'd be 2 chest pockets - 1 on each side so you could have put your phone in one side and your wallet in the other. That would be a differentiator that would make these vests a must have/ buy IMO. Other Bean vests are eliminating the drawcord at the hip so you can adjust the fit at the bottom - which really helps with both fit and temp reguation. At least this vest has the drawcord, but why non chest pocket. Other jackets/ vests have the chest pocket but no bottom drawcord. Very disappointing to this longtime customer. My old Bean jackets and vests have both - as well as the 2 additional inside pockets behind the handwarmer pockets that are very useful when needed. You can use these inside stuff pockets for gloves, a hat, a letter, bill, a plane ticket, or checkbook, etc. - without having multiple items in your smaller handwarmer pockets. I appreciate and use these additional storage places all the time and your jacket/ vest can remain somewhat trim looking and you know where everything is. Very useful when traveling and very useful when your sitting because it's much easier to get at items stored on your torso as opposed to pants pockets. JMO BTW - as to style - I'm not a fan of the stitching across the middle of the back of the vest. It's OK along the front as the stick lines demarcate the front pockets, but the stitch line along the middle of the back serves no purpose and makes the vest look a bit weird IMO

I love the material on this vest, but it's really, really roomy through the body. I wouldn't call this slightly fitted; it's loose. The drawstring around the bottom also broke off from its anchor after a week, so now I have no way to cinch it and make it fit better. Kind of disappointed in the durability and fit, but like the general style and material.

I did not feel this was up to the normal standard of product I have purchased before from LL Bean.

I purchased this vest for my husband. He had the previous version with the Bean logo embroidered on the front and the zippered chest pocket and really liked it. This new one is not only missing the pocket as mentioned by other reviewers, but has a sewn on color Bean logo which is not as attractive. The main issue is the color which surely isn't black even though it is clearly marked "black" on the vest and all the shipping documents. I am hard-pressed to say what color it actually is. Gray, bluish, bluish gray? He will keep it, but it sure cannot compare to the original.

I received a gift card and had to find something to purchase. The vest is decent quality but no inside or cell phone pocket. For the price there are lots of other places to find a fleece vest with more pockets.

Warmth without weight. Good zippered pockets. Second one of these I've bought. Would rate it five stars but the advertising patch on the breast is objectionable.

I wear all LLBean clothes and never have a problem with fit, until now. This vest was so undersized I had to reorder. I also thought the fleece weight would be heavier then it is.

Sadly had to return as it was a little bit of a slim body hugging fit for me. Great looking vest great value wish it fit.

The old vest were a far better fit

I bought a Tall 2XL, and while I've been able to wear this LL Bean size in the past, the sizing and design have changed. The vest is tapered and thus it won't fit and I can't wear it ... so back it goes. I wish LL Bean would get back to "regular" sizing and lose the "tapered" fit, 'cuz some of us out here in "real-world land" aren't suited for "tapered." Otherwise, the vest is a lightweight fleece with a nice texture, I love the green color and the basic design, and it would be a great addition ... if it would fit.

Nice vest but it seems a little short. I'm 6'1" and would have liked it to be an inch or two longer.

Disappointed would be how I review this vest. The last vest lasted many years and was perfect for active cold weather wear. The difference in the replacement no side pocket on the left chest for cell phone, no inside pockets for sunglasses gloves headband etc. The thickness is 20% less which is OK but the lack of pockets other than the 2 outside ones really make a difference when you are going in & out or just active.

Very nice looking vest but ran a little small in the mid section for a XXL. Liked it enough to order next size up.

Weird fabric texture, not like normal polyester fleece. It's very smooth. The color was also a bit off. I'll be returning it.

The vest is okay, not as thick as it used to be... Just okay but overpriced like all Bean products.

Very nice vest, however the XXXL is not true to size. I have a Bean Sweater Vest that is a XXXL and it fits fine--this fleece one in the same size is too small.

I hoped for fleecy coziness but this vest is thinfirst time in a long time that I've been disappointed in an LLBean item

I was in hopes that it would have inside pockets . I will take this item to a seamstress so she can put some in . Needless to say I AM DISAPPOINTED .

I've bought Bean's clothing for many years, and lately, the quality has slipped. I've found that this vest is a good example. I still have an old black fleece vest I bought from Bean's about 20 years ago, but thought I could use a new one. The new "black" vest arrived, and was a very disappointing charcoal gray, yet it clearly stated "black" on the tag. Further, it was very tight-fitting, tighter than my 20yo vest, which I guess I'll continue wearing.
