I should have read other reviewers complaining about the sizing problem, but I did not expect that I would have a problem with L.L Bean. I have worn XXL for decades, and I even have a winter jacket from Bean that is XXL and it fits just right. I received this Warm-Up jacket (sized XXL) and found that it was so tight across the chest that I could not zip the garment. To top off the order, the package was unsealed on arrival; in fact, the package never was sealed. I have purchased items from L.L, Bean over the years with generally good experiences. With the inaccurate size and the poor packaging, something is substandard at Bean.

Typically wear medium jackets, but this seems quite a bit looser than most brands in the chest/body.

Jacket is OK. Nothing to write home about.
It's good for 30 to 40 F temps.
My problem are the sleeves of this jacket. They are little short.
I don't have arms of a gorilla, I am just tall and the other jackets in Tall sizes that I bought here have long enough sleeves. This one is XL Tall and the sleeves are little too short.
Just a warning to other tall people.

Purchased as a Christmas gift, so can't really rate yet. All I can say is that it looks fine through plastic bag it was sent in. Just selected 3 stars as middle of road b/c incoming wouldn't let me send explanation without rating.

Nice looking jacket. Fit is good. Exterior nylon fabric is noisy when wearing jacket while walking. Interior fleece is comfortable but not real thick. I felt good temperature range for jacket was 35 to 50 degrees. If you had the older version with supplex nylon exterior and polartec 300 fleece interior you may not like this version. If you never had the older model this version may be ok but as mentioned, the exterior nylon is noisy. Due to above reasons I returned the jacket that I had purchased. Hoping LL Bean improves the product by at least using a nylon fabric that is quieter.

I already own a Bean Warm up jacket I bought in 1993 and it still fits me perfectly. It is a size large with room for a sweatshirt or sweater underneath the jacket. This new size Large Bean Warm up Jacket is snug. I can zip it up, but there is no room for any layering at all. I am really disappointed with the new "skinny" sizing.
So I returned the "large" and ordered a replacement " XL" size. It has adequate room for layering, but now the sleeves are way too long and the waist is also too long. Instead of falling to waist, it falls to hip. I thought we Americans were getting fatter, so you would think Bean would size their coats for the average American. Incidentally, I wear Beans Sunwashed Canvas Shirts in size regular large and they fit with room to spare.

Unfortunately when they stated "slightly fitted" it should have said "fitted". I buy XL because I like my jackets to be loose, I find that more comfortable. The jacket was severely to small around the waist. I am able to zip it up however it's much more confining than I like. From what I've read this seems to be the norm for this jacket. Hopefully LLBean will cease using this manufacturer.

I've been wearing the LL Warm-Up Jacket for many years as my main, go-to winter jacket. Why did I only give it a three-star review? One huge problem: The zipper is cheap and will predictably fail within two years. This has happened to me over and over again. The result is that you're stuck with an otherwise great jacket with no zipper within a couple of years. My solution has been to send the defective jacket back for a replacement every-other time that I buy the jacket. This solution gives me functional jacket for four years before I have to buy a new one. A jacket like this should last more than two years.

I bought the Khaki color, but the color was not really that light brown. I asked two friends what color they thought it was. Both saw green in the color-one said forest green, the other said olive green. Granted, inside I cannot see the green color, but outside in the sun it definitely does not look like khaki.

My 25 year old husband turned into a 45 year old dad watching his kids baseball game when he put this jacket on. It's definitely not a style for a young, active, adult male. Good quality as expected, but definitely returned. Love you LLBean!

I had one from several years ago. Having lost weight, I decided to get another. First, the collar corner is bent up, and will not go flat. secondly it is a bit snug for a size large. Last but not least, it is not warm. I bought the Fleece lined, like my original, but they forgot the insulation (Thinsulate, it was called.) This jacket is good for spring to fall, but not in the temperature range advertised. I have always trusted L.L. Bean's products, but this jacket does not live up to my expectations.

I ordered color Moss/Khaki because the picture on the website made this color look like a shade of tan. It isn't tan at all it's army green. I'm going to return it and select another color. Size and fit are excellent but the colors on the web page are very deceiving.

Lovely jacket but my husband is short and stocky men and he is at a disadvantage because to get it large enough in the chest/waist, the sleeves are about 3" too long. It was returned. I wish LL Bean would produce short men clothing.

I have had this jacket in the past and never had a problem with it. This jacket however seems much tighter than a men's large. I'm just wondering if it was mislabeled and it was a women's large. The inside pocket is tight and in an odd spot. I love the color, I really wanted to love the jacket more.

The Men's Warm-Up Jacket, Fleece-Lined did not fit well. The sleeves looked very puffy and the band at the cuff kept going up into the sleeve. Additionally the band at the waist was too tight. I returned it as soon as I tried it on.

I don't know why on my latest coat you have no large inter pockets, the small zipper won't hold a I-phone plus your older model had 1 large and 1 smaller pocket, the new zipper pocket would be great for a I phone plus if it would be a bit larger. measure the largest phone then size accordingly

Years ago I bought a warm up from LLbeans jackets with 300 grams polartec. It was just enough warmer then the cheaper ones to make it my perfered jacket.....Recently LL.bean ad said 300 grams, but when I got this new jacket it has the same thin cheap polartec lining as the cheaper jackets....i wont buy one here again...

Jacket is a jogging suit top. It is advertised as being warm from +35 to -15 that is really a lie.
It came yesterday and i am wearing it while sitting at an outside caf it is 51 here I am cold.
I bought it to be able to wear in cold weather the advertising is incorrect at best I will be returning the jacket.
Quite noisy outer shell material another issue.

Attractive colored, single-layered fleece product and not lined with a second layer of fleece with contrasting color. More a light-weight sweater than a jacket. "Elastic cuff" consisted of a very thin band of poorly finished, stitched fabric and not a 4-6 inch cuff as depicted, producing a poor fit.with no closure at wrist. Good fit, however, across the chest and shoulders; sleeves about 6 inches too long.

This jacket was bought to replace a similar fleece lined warm-up jacket purchased many, probably more than 10, years ago and one that has been my go to winter coat for all but the most severe weather. The old jacket is, to the best of my knowledge, an XL Regular, although the tags are long gone so I'm relying on memory.
The new jacket does not seem as roomy as the old one, but this could be because the old one has stretched and conformed to me over the years. The new jacket does not have an interior zipper pocket. I originally bought the new jacket as an XL Tall and had to swap it for an XXL Tall. It does fit, albeit a snugger fit than the old jacket. I'm keeping it and we shall see how it works out.

This jacket has a lighter fleece liner than another similar jacket I have. My other jacket is warm in cold weather but this one is just too thin for winter weather. I see it as a spring and fall jacket. It also fits a bit tighter around the midsection than I feel it should. If you want something warm for cold weather look elsewhere. Also consider going up in size if you tend to be in between sizes.
