I've worn a warmup jacket for years. I ordered the last one in a medium, which turned out to be too small, so I returned it for a large. The zipper finally failed on that one so I ordered a replacement, also in large. It is way too big so back it goes for a medium. Other than size inflation, these are great medium weight coats. As near as I remember, the last jacket is somewhere around 7 years old and nothing but the zipper is worn out.

Many long years ago I bought a woman's warmup jacket and loved it. It has finally worn out and, unfortunately, no longer offered for women. So I've had to "make do" with a man's which is obviously not cut for women. That said, I like the jacket except I hate the inside pocket -- too small and poorly located. A two-way zipper would also be an improvement.

Still a really great jacket. BUT this new model is NOISY. probably has to do with the water-resistant coating. Also, on the CON side - please change the inside pocket back to horizontal for convenient and easy access. Still a warm and roomy all season jacket. I have a large and found it fine but a bit big so I ordered a medium. The original jacket finally needed replacement after nearly 25 years. Wore it all the time. Will have to send the Lg back. Would prefer a horizontal pocket on the inside.

I love the jacket. The reason I gave it a 4 is because I think it runs a little small for an XL. I usually put sweatshirts under it and with this jacket I will only be able to put a very thin sweatshirt under it.

This was exactly what I wanted. I ordered a size large because I live in hoodies. Unfortunately, the large runs small, especially tight through the armpit area. I will keep it, I think. I'll have to wear it some more to see if it loosens up. I'm still debating...Other similar jackets I have are all larges and they are roomy.

Nice jacket. Beautiful color. Man lost 65# and is having hard time fitting clothes. 1x was too small but 2x was too large.

The jacket is of excellent quality. I had one that lasted over 20 years. I ordered a new one. It ran a bit smaller than the large I replaced. I called today and they are going to send an extra large I will try that. They said if it's too big they will take it back

The jacket quality is excellent, however the size is "tight" or small for a XL. As a consumer this seems to be a common problem today in cloths, the sizing leaves a little to be desired.

My husband's final jacket looks great and the color is very nice. This jacket is cut much smaller than the previous LLBean jackets my husband already owns. Normally he wears an LLBean large (he is a 6ft tall man and weighs 185 lbs). We read the size chart and still wound up exchanging twice. His final jacket is an XXL which is the largest regular jacket sold. Size up one or two sizes from normal. Through this process he wound up with a striking spruce color. Customer service was excellent throughout the process.

I got this jacket in a men's XXL and am well satisfied with it overall. My only concern is that it fits a little tighter than I had expected. Also, I would have preferred a more conventional inside pocket. Finally, I wish it had been available in yellow. As an old geezer (71) I like to wear bright colors when crossing streets at night. Accordingly, I got it in deep red.

This jacket was improved with a subdued LL Bean logo which, compared to years past, use to shout. A better improvement would be to get rid of the logo. This is a top quality jacket. The "medium" size is actually a bit on the large size around the middle/chest area. The sleeve ends are a snug elastic as is the bottom edge and prevent cold air seepage. The zipper is a sturdy full size nylon zipper - probably impossible to jamb. Jacket has three zippered pockets - two outside at waist level and one inside breast pocket. When worn, the jacket feels a little "blousey". However, pulling the waist downwards will make it fit a little more snug. When the waist band is pulled down it goes down to about 3-inches below the belt line. The neck collar, when zippered to the top, is loose. If you have a thick or fat neck, it is probably just right. A light scarf is a good cure. This is my second LL Bean warm up jacket - the first one is still serviceable but the color looks "dated" and I never did like the LL Bean logo on the front. These warm up jacket last a long time. Temperatures for wearing this jacket should be in the forties down to about 30 degrees for comfort. Temps in the 50's with just a T-shirt under it are okay. The jacket will be too warm for exercise above 50 degrees. I gave it four stars - remove the logo and some of the blousey feel around the middle and perhaps shorten it by a 1/2 inch, put a snap or velcro to allow the collar to be tightened and this will be a five star jacket in my opinion.

Looks like a nice jacket, need to test it when it gets really cold out. Take caution that the sizes run small. I ordered one larger size than normal so I could have room to dress in layers but the jacket just fits as is which is a little disappointing. Looking forward to see how well it wears over time.

I had this jacket previously in a "medium tall" and decided to get a brand new one. Unfortunately, you no longer offer the "medium tall" so I had to SETTLE for the "regular large." Sadly these are not the same and the sleeves and overall length at the waist are still a wee bit too short for my taste. I also miss the interior zippered pocket. Sure, there's a "pocket" near the zipper, but that's only big enough for a pack of gum. Too bad you didn't decide to add a few bucks to the overall cost and keep this interior pocket. I also find the material and the over "grey" colored lining not as soft and rich as my old burgundy version. Overall it's warm and still has the elastic cuffs and waist that I still wanted so it'll have to do. I'm just saying this could've been a REALLY GREAT cost instead of just good.

Just what I wanted. Not heavy or bulky, and warm enough for my needs.

I needed a new windbreaker, and wanted something warm. Got exactly that. Based on previous reviewers I decided on an XL vice a L, since they reportedly ran a little small, and I have wide shoulders. A little big, but better than getting a little small. In terms of warmth, the fleece lining is substantial, and if there is anything I can say negatively, it is the weight. This jacket is quite heavy, weightwise, for a windbreaker. But buying a little bigger allows me the freedom of movement. Good for temps in the 40's ( deg F) down to about zero, depending on the windiness. Construction seems a lot better than what is available in retail brick and mortar clothing stores. As usual another excellent Bean product, if you don't mind the fact it is a bit weighty. The weight lowered my rating one star.

Jacket seemed a bit tight for an XL (my usual size) I had tried one on at the local LL Bean store which seemed somewhat larger. I was looking for a specific color so I ordered on line. Good fall/spring jacket

This is a well constructed jacket with classic style from LL Bean. I liked the color choices and a big plus is the addition of Thinsulate. The sizing ended up being a little smaller than I was used to for the size ordered, however it is acceptable.

Just got the jacket and wore it once. I had one years ago and this is what I expected. A basic three season jacket. One thing that I would recommend on future redesigns, is that they add an inside pocket or two to the jacket. This would be a great added feature.

I've owned this jacket for over a year and just used it extensively during a recent two week trip through Eastern Europe. It's a great jacket that it kept me warm on some very cool October days. However as a traveler, I need an additional inside pocket to securely keep airline boarding passes, train tickets, a city map, or even a passport. The existing inside pocket is nice for small items such as a day pass for a mass transit system but that's about it. It's even tight fitting a small wallet in the existing inside pocket.

Excellent product. Keeps me warm when it's cold out, doesn't become a heat bag if hte temperare rises a little. Why not a five? 1) Sizing. The XL's a *little* big on me, but the L was too tight. I know, the only way to account for that is to take measurements and produce fitted jackets. 2) It's a little "crinkly." It can bunch up toward my chin when I get in the car. I'm waiting for it to soften and get more supple. But, most importantly, would I recommend it to someone else? Most definitely. And I'll strongly consider buying another one in the future when this one wears out. (I won't say "definitely" because when this wears out, I don't know whether it will have been replaced n the Bean line with somthing that has some future technological breakthrough incorporated in it).

I really liked the style but the elastic part on the waist kept on lifting my shirt. Not as comfortable as I would’ve liked. Will return.

It's a great jacket but had to return due to the elastic sleeve cuffs and waist. It's not a good look and uncomfortable because of the elastic waist in particular.

Just received my jacket and was a little disappointed. I've worn the Bean warm up jackets for a lot of years, but they've started cutting corners. The jacket is not as long as it used to be, barely covering my waist. Also the pockets are smaller and the material is stiffer. I will not reorder.
