Had chief competitor's almost identical jacket for 21 years before zipper fouled. I bought the Bean jacket as a replacement. While I like it, their claim that the lining is 200 weight Polartec is doubtful. I also thought the 25% heading on the internet page was deceiving, (only applied to items already on sale) and all the more so when, a week later, that was actually the case when Bean broadened the sale parameters. I paid full freight, which is a bit high for this jacket, but I would still recommend it.

Old favorite. This is the third one my husband has had and it is just like the old ones. My original one is still in use. If you would re instate the ladies warm up jacket I would be first in line for the green one!

Light weight, warm and comfortable jacket. I really like it with the exception that it runs a bit smaller than other XXL clothes that I wear. It is also a bit harder to put on as it seems the arm hole is a bit small too. Would be great if they could put a gusset in the armpit to give it a bit more room and less restricted movement. Would be great for someone just a bit smaller than me.

Got this same jacket a few years back as a gift in a red color. Got many years of use out of it. The only reason I needed a new one was the fabric on the cuffs finally started to fray. Really liked the red so I ordered this new one in the size "Large/Tall" in the color "Cayenne." The color comes off as more of an orange than red. The quality is very good. Zippers work perfectly and keeps me warm. Overall, I really like this coat. Hoping L.L. Bean brings back the deeper red for my next one!

This jacket is good looking, fits well, nice and warm. The only complaint I have is that it's very noisy. Every time my husband moves you can hear the jacket.

It is perfect for cool weather days (temps 40 - 60), fits good and looks good at a reasonable price. I am pleased with it.

Warm, well made, good down to 20 degrees or lower. Like most LL Bean jackets, inexplicably small and chintzy zipper. When Bean offered their lifetime warranty, this mattered less, but now the inevitable failure is a pain

I ordered a large which is my husbands size, no matter what the item or brand. It was too small and I had to exchange it for an extra large which fit like a large usually does. Also it came very wrinkled and per the instructions of customer service I had to wash and dry it. It looks a lot better, but I don't think you should have to wash something like a brand new jacket!! There is a deep wrinkle in the fleece collar which did not come out but I guess it is wearable.
We were a little disappointed in the jacket, but couldn't find a similar one elsewhere and this was to replace an old one.

My husband does not like bulky jackets so this one was perfect for him. I just wish it came with a hood!

This is a great jacket. The only complaint that I would have is that the color of the actual jacket doesn't match that of the catalog or on-line color. In the pictures the jacket appears to be somewhat brownish but in actuality it is green. I have found this true of other LL Bean products. If it weren't for that I would have given it five stars.

This is a good overall jacket. I purchased a men's jacket even though I am a woman because I like the way the men's coat is made and how it fits. I purchased the light blue color and feel like it is also a good color for a woman. It is of good quality and I'm hoping it will last and wear well for a long time.

This jacket seems to be a great winter garment. It is a good bit warmer than I anticipated it would be -- and this is NOT a complaint. Its fit at the waist is just a touch on the tight side for the listed size, at least for this beer-bellied guy. It sheds water well. Its inside pocket, a zip closure "Napoleon" pocket along the main zipper line, is a bit clumsy to use and in my opinion would be more useful in a more traditional location. All in all, though, this has proven to be a top grade garment for the fall and winter.

This jacket keeps me warm and the fit is true. I prefer non-elasticized cuffs but it does not bother me much. I also prefer a traditional lapel however when I entirely zip the jacket shut it does a very good job of keeping me warm. Overall a very well made quality product.

Hi, This jacket seems to be super warm. I just had one issue with the jacket as the Waistband and Cuffs are made of Cloth material. The entire body is Nylon except 2 cloth pieces which is kind of odd. Which means I cannot use this in rain conditions.
I will recommend this jacket if you do not want to use in Rain.

I previously had an LLBean warm-up jacket for years. I finally decided to get new. The jacket is great, except this jacket style has elastic cuffed wrists. I have the feeling that the sleeves are short and will crawl up my arms. I wish the sleeve lengths were a little longer. I don't think going to an xtra-larger will cure my issue.

I bought this as an inexpensive "in-between," for times when it isn't very cold, but still cold enough to warrant a jacket, and in this regard it is fine.
My only gripe is the color -- I bought the "green" one, which when i got it into daylight instead of the shop artificial light, I found was military green. Since I am a pacifist, this was unwelcome to me, and causes me to not wear it from time to time.

For right at a $100 I feel the jacket is somewhat overpriced. $70 would of been a more appropriate price. I haven't experienced any temps below 40 degrees F so I can't comment on warmth. I did wear it in a good downpour and it repelled water fairly well. Fit is accurate.

This is the third warm-up jacket I've had. The first two each lasted about five years and I wear them nearly every day in fall, winter, and early spring.
They don't really wear out, but the cuffs are torn apart by the heavy zippers on the pockets. The zippers aren't necessary and I never use them. There's an inside pocket (also with a zipper) that I've never used.
The jacket is warm, comfortable, very durable and cleans up easily.

Most of the previous reviews on this jacket are spot on. I've been a size large for the past 30 years. 42" chest, 35" sleeves. My size, as per L.L. Bean's sizing guidelines, should definitely be a large. Normally when I get a large from L.L. Bean there's a little extra room left over. Not with this jacket. If I wanted to wear an extra layer underneath I don't think I could. I'm fine with this as if I need to wear an extra layer I'll just wear a warmer coat. If you are someone who is regularly between sizes go one up on this jacket. One other downside is that it does somewhat sound like Geroge Castanza's new suit in that as the sleeves rub against the jacket body it whistles. Not significantly, but enough to be a little annoying. All in all I decided to keep it in that it's a nice midweight jacket, which is exactly what I wanted. Nice and warm with just a shirt underneath.

It is a very well made jacket and true to size. The only problem we had was that it was extremely wrinkled when it arrived. I put it in the dryer with a damp towel for about 20 minutes and then it was fine. My husband is enjoying it in the cool weather.

This jacket is a terrific winter coat. My only wish is that it would come in women's sizes.

Great for Midwest weather. Waterproof warm enough. Only drawback is material is a little stiff and crunchy.
