This is such a nice coat I bought another one. The problem is with the color, moss khaki. The jacket I received is like an army green that isn't listed as a choice. I chose to keep it but I sure don't like the color.

I tried this in a Men's Large, Navy. My issues are just cosmetic; there's nothing wrong with the item, it fits properly, seems like it could be warm with a polar-tech underneath and there would be room for one as well. Issues: All of these have the same color lining, grey. On the navy color core, it seemed mismatched. The bottom band bunches up along the bottom and makes it look boxy. So I returned it.

Since the zipper on my favorite LL-B fleece died and they could not fix, I've struggled to find something that's something of a substitute. I do not like most of the choices. I saw this item in their store, but not in my size. Decided to give it a try. I've been wearing it fairly regularly since. It's a bit stiffer than I prefer. The pockets zip which is good. The inner pocket is small and at the chest which I don't prefer. My old fleece was so wonderful that it's hard to be highly satisfied. I chose this because it is not a bubble coat and it doesn't have the label screaming LL-B.

The jacket felt very warm and roomy. Really had great warmth when worn. The only complaint I would have is the selves are not lined.

I ordered this same coat several years ago, but the zipper was wearing out so I ordered this new one. There is a difference, the older one is heavier due to a thicker lining. I like the heavier lining better but this new coat is still pretty nice. I just hope it works as well as the old one in really cold weather.

This is the third warmup jacket I've owned. I love them for the fit, comfort, and warmth. They're an excellent value. My only disappointment is that the inside pocket has been eliminated. This may have been a cost cutting action, but it detracts from the jacket. I've noted that the quality of several Bean products has declined. Now I shop around before purchasing. I used to go straight to Bean's.

Needed a coat that was warmer than a fleece but not as warm as a parka for work and errands. This fits the bill.

Ordered 2XL Tall and it just fits. Not able to layer with a sweater under it. If you want to layer, order one size up. If you're a 2XL like me you are out of luck. Only 4 stars because of snug fit. A lot of Bean products seem to run smaller.

I've always had a Bean warm-up jacket for many, many years. A versatile go-to jacket that fits me (175 lbs, average guy)a tad roomy, as it ought to be for layering, manuverability, and general breathability. At least that's true for the warm-up jacket. I went for another moss khaki, matching one I still have from years ago. (What!. Yes, I keep an older one back as a strictly hard use outdoor jacket.) Gives me a chance for a direct comparison here and now. This is it: New one: still a well- made jacket. Good detail. I like the pockets and the knit rib cuffs and bottom. Good front zipper. Just like the earlier ones. These features hold up very well. New one compared to my old ones: Noticeable difference in the fleece. Thinner. Sleeves appear to be flatter (less filling). Layer or not, this is never going to be much of a winter temp jacket. Mid-30's with a light layer, ok. All my warm-up jackets were good for max of 3 seasons, maybe 2 nowadays. Then the sleeve insulation is gone. The fleece might stay around. After that it's okay as a rougher use outdoor jacket (think cleaning fish, carrying ashes, that sort of thing). The durable exterior is a positive. Still good side pockets with zipper. I still recommend the jacket, just be careful regarding what purpose YOU have in mind. It's not a winter jacket as such. But I have used it as a jacket for in the car when on a long winter trip, with my heavy parka (probably from Bean!) in the back seat. Rich North

My vintage (1980's) Warm-Up jacket is finally beginning to show its age...so I ordered a new one. I ordered Large Tall same as the original. Great fit other than the sleeves could be a half inch longer and a bit larger in diameter. Sleeves get a bit tight when wearing a flannel shirt. The new outside pocket design is rather problematic for me as they seem to have less volume and are not as deep as my vintage version. Not enough volume for my driving gloves or collapsable earmuffs. If I put my keys or cell phone in one of the pockets I must zip it at least about one third closed to keep stuff from falling out...never had to do that with the vintage jacket. All in all, a good jacket but lacking some practical conveniences of the vintage version that I have enjoyed for many years. For me, a couple of minor tweeks to the sleeves & pockets and the rating would be 5 star!!

This jacket replaces one which lasted me at least eight years. The fit and quality of the jacket is good; fits the same as the older one. I am writing this review because the color of the jacket I received looks nothing like the color shown in the ad. In all light situations it appears olive green. It is not in the khaki family of colors; nor moss, for that matter.

I own many L.L. Bean shirts (size XXL) which fit very well - a slightly relaxed fit, but not "sloppy". Hoped that the XXL jacket would be the same fit, but it is "snug", no extra room at all. Good quality jacket, it is what I was looking for. Disappointing that the sizes not to be uniform between products.

I love these jackets! I think this is my 4th one. Thee only reason it's not a 5 star rating is the lining of the body or lack of. I wish the lining of the body matched the lining of the sleeves. Arms and most importantly the clothing slides right into the arms of the jacket. Cannot say the same for the rest of the coat. The unlined Thinsulate is restrictive. It works, don't get me wrong. Just be nice for the jacket to move freely and easily without restrictions on my clothing. Not a reason not to own. Love the collar(leave the exposed Thinsulate there) nice and warm and a effective wind break. Wrist and waist bands work and look great. Fits nice and the style is timeless. I've tried other styles of Winter coats. Always come back to this coat. It set the standard for me many years ago. Quality has never been an issue. No need to think this one will be any different.

The jacket is ORANGE, especially in daylight conditions. It replaced the wonderful burgundy colored jacket. The jacket itself is great. I love it, but tore a hole in the sleeve, hence the reorder.

Seemed like good quality but it was to small. I returned it for a refund. I wish LL Bean sold 3xl tall.

This jacket is warm and a great color. It is not for the coldest weather but great for late fall and early spring. I probably should have ordered an extra large rather than a large. The large is a tight fit especially if you are working outside or are wearing a sweater or a couple of light layers underneath. I have other large garments that are a looser fit Other than the tight fit, it is a great jacket that will wear well for me.

This purchase was a replacement of a previous LL Bean jacket. It fits well and is the excellent quality expected from LL Bean. I've been trying to replace the previous jacket and this jacket is the closest yet. I spent considerable time outside yesterday in windy cold weather and found that this jacket, as I expected, needs a layer under it when it is windy and cold. A fleece or heavy sweater is sufficient. I wore an LL Bean heavy ragg wool sweater and was very comfortable. The jacket has a nice appearance and I consider it suitable for all but formal use. Often, this sort of jacket is too casual, while this one is very nice. The pockets are roomy and suitable for everyday uses. Suggestions to the designers at Beans: - Add Gore Tex, or at least make it an option. The previous Bean jacket was Gore-Tex and was likely the most useful jacket I'd ever owned: a true three season garment. - Replace the knit cuffs and waistband with an adjustable snap closure. The knit ones always get loose before the jackets wear out, no matter who makes them. Or at least have the knit cuffs inside an extended sleeve. - Add an outer wind flap over the zipper with snap closure. The interior one is good, that would make it great. - And add another interior pocket, this time on the right side and vertical: maps, pocket camera, etc. I'm quite satisfied with the new jacket. The above suggestions may not be for everyone, but I think they would create a stand out garment.

Pros: Excellent fit for Tall men, Very warm. Con: Its the first waist length Jacket I've ever bought that doesn't have any inside breast pockets, and I really miss having inside pockets. That is the only reason I rated the jacket only 4 Stars
