I guess if the jacket would have fit it would have been good, but it never fit, it ran way too small tho be size 2 X Tall, I own other Jackets that are 2 X Tall, and I just figured hey let me get an LL.Bean since alot of people I know rate theit clothes and jackets at such high standards, but OMG this experience was not only the worst, but finding a store to return the item was as bad. I wouldn't recomend this place at all.

I ordered it in my normal size XL and it was a snug fit. Also, one side of the collar would not stay properly. I returned it.

The zipper seems to malfunction a bit at the start as in hesitates to zip up. Knowing LL Bean will do what is necessary I have no concerns. This warm up jacket seems to be designed a bit different. It is very stiff at the waist where the jacket and zipper come together. I say that because I have owned a few. They make great sweater jackets ........love it.

Too small. LLBean logo shown. Do not like this. Why advertise for you on something I spent money on. I does not carry the weight of being associated with a premium product.

returned jacket --- too large. have two jackets one black the other blue, both large. they are super jackets, provide warmth comfortably in 20 degree temp w/wind blowing. they are 5 and 6 years old and are washed in machine twice a year, both look new. shame!

The color of this coat is dull and murky. This one's classic coat no longer has the brightness of color when they were made in the USA. The fit across the chest is tighter than a large used to be even though I'm still the same build and weight as 20 years ago. There's also some type of unpleasant faint scent that I cannot describe. It must be in the material. This was once a jacket I was proud to wear now however I do not recommend,

Returning. The outer shell feels and sounds like snow pants materials. This is not the kind of material that should be on the outside of a jacket but rather inside. The outer shell makes crinkle noises when in motion. L.L. Bean has gone done in quality. I am returning all the time. It is made in India and it shows. Cheap quality. It is getting to the point of why bother anymore. I used to get several items a year but hasn't been the case in years due to change in size and quality. I can get better at a high end outlet mall.

I own several LL Bean jackets, all are XXL. They fit great. I wanted the warm up mainly because it came in Navy. Imagine my disappointment when the jacket was too small...all over. I was going to return it, but decided to give it away to a charity. Too bad it didn't fit...

My wife bought this for me - and I am doing the review. I've been wearing these squall jackets for >30 years (with llbean and the other competitors) - and they are very functional pieces of apparel. Well, this latest generation of style is a no-go for me. The big issue? The inside chest pocket is tiny tiny tiny. The thing is - the other competitors have the same tiny tiny tiny inside chest pocket. Do all these brands get together and agree on the design? Something is fishy. Normally, it will fit my wallet, phone and glasses together. Now it is micro sized. On a previous design, not only is the chest pocket extra large, but it had a supplemental pocket just below it. More pockets are better. These pockets need to be functionally sized. Now, for the general jacket size, maybe my arms are getting longer - but the fit on the sleeves is short when I try it out. I guess tall sizes aren't what they used to be. Note - as a taller individual, if the sleeves are short it just feels creepy. LLbean - help!

I had purchased one of these coats maybe 15 years ago. I still have it (color red, size medium), over the years I started to wear it when doing work that slowly affected the appearance so it wasn't appropriate to wear it out when appearance was important. This coat (that I bought 15 years ago), you could tell by wearing it and looking at it, was great quality. It had a feel to it when you wore it, that the lining was thick enough to keep you warm in cold weather but not too thick that inhibited movement. The outer material is supple enough to keep its appearance without wrinkling and does not make any noise while walking/moving. The fit was great. I decided to but a new one (green) about 2 years ago so I could use it when I wanted to go out and appearance was important. What a difference in quality!! The coat size was slightly smaller (medium ordered), the thickness of the lining was thinner but the biggest flaw was the outer shell. The material is almost plastic-like. This coat makes a lot of noise when you walk/move. It was embarrassing to wear it out in public and aggrevating to wear around the yard outside. I have noticed other items the LL Bean sells have had a decrease in quality over the years. At one time, LL Bean was my go to place for clothes, now I have to look other places to find what I need. I am not sure, but I think the different color of these coats are made at different locations (US, international?) resulting in quality that is not consistent (eg. size, color, material, etc). The reason I didn't return it was that, I thought maybe the material would wear in. Additionally, when this coat is subject to being stored or positioned and not hung on a hanger, it presents with so many wrinkles that don't go away easily. The second coat I bought hangs in a closet and is not used.

I have an LL Bean Parka in XXL that fits perfectly so I thought this warm-up jacket would fit about the same. No way -I couldn't even get the sides of the coat close enough together to zip. I have several XXL (or 2X) coats/jackets that still fit although a little tighter than when bought. This was not even close to a XXL. The coat looked and felt nice -on someone else maybe. If they made a 3X I would try it. I would not recommend it for anyone on the border of XXL. This is the first time I have bought an LLBean product that was not fairly true to size.

Ordered my normal size extra large tall. Sleeves are too short. Body fit tight. Doesn't look like a $109 jacket. Returned it.

Truly, this is terrible. I'm old enough to remember ordering from Bean's b&w paper catalog with line drawings. If this jacket is what now passes for Bean quality, perhaps it's time for me to kick the rusty bucket and join the ranks of good old Leon Leonwood himself. The shell looks, sounds, and feels cheap and likely to rip at first abrasion. The fleece collar looks guaranteed to pill quickly and no longer Malden Mills (or comparable quality) fabric. The cuffs are flimsy and oddly constructed. If these were available in bulk to donate to winter shelters whose clients discard clothing, ten bucks a piece would be fair for the quality and presumed duration of use.

The jacket felt like it was made out of plastic. I've had two of these over the years and decided to get another one but returned it because I felt it wasn't worth the price. They use to be much better.

Use to always buy stuff. From ll bean the quality and customer service went WAY down hill. This jacket has arms big enough in width for 3 large men's arms. , the fabric felt cheap and made crinkling sounds whenever u move like a plastic bag was not warm either ...they told me no charge for return but they charged me anyway

I have an old one that is a Large. I replaced it with an XL. That was too small. Then I ordered an XXL---that again was too small. I ended up giving away. XL and XXL were too small. Miss labeled or poor manufacture??

I buy traditional shirts and love the way they fit. They are always loose and comfortable. The coat said our traditional fit and I was looking forward to wearing it, but it was so tight it was impossible to wear. I had to return it.

This is the second jacket I've had a problem with. The outside shell is so thin that it tears easily. New jacket worn not even a month and it has a hole in the sleeve. Customer dis-service is basically worthless. If you buy, be very careful where you wear it.

The collar came pre-wrinkled, and it apparently can't be un-wrinkled. The nylon shell has a shine to it that looks very cheap. Arms are very bulky and clownish. Looks nice in the catalog or online, but when you get it, it's lousy.

I have been wearing an extra-large tall for years. This jacket did not fit. The sleeves diameter went from 27.5 inches to 22.75 inches. The length of the sleeves were as advertised but the shoulders were narrower. Exchanged the jacket for the next larger size (extra-extra large tall). The larger size had the same problem, sleeves too narrow and shoulders too narrow. I went to an LLBEAN store to try on jackets, all sleeves had smaller diameters than previous models.
