My husband liked this jacket in almost every way and it fit well, especially through the shoulders. However, the one issue is that the upper arms are too wide compared to the cut of the rest of the jacket. It looks disproportionate.

Jacket's design is fine, but the material is so stiff it was unwearable for me.

I ordered moss khaki based on the picture which shows it as tan, like normal khaki. The jacket is actually green, not tan. I returned the jacket. Don't be fooled by the picture.

I had a similar coat from a different manufacturer, it was my go to winter coat ... errands, shoveling snow, walking the dog, etc. (I have other coats for skiing, super cold weather, etc. but needed a knock around coat). The LL Bean site rated the temperature for this coat at (+35/-15) ... and it seemed perfect for my needs. Went for a walk this weekend at a park bordering the water, it was 25 degrees and super windy. The coat was not up to the task, I don't think it is even insulated. If it snows soon, I will test it again, and hopefully it will live up to it claims.

I agree with reviews that this LL Bean product is not of the same quality as in years past. I've owned three or four of these warmup jackets over the years and wore them in all but the coldest weather here in Maine. The new one I received as a Christmas gift is not nearly as warm, the fleece lining is thin, and the outside fabric is stiff. There were wrinkles in the fabric when new that are still there after several washings. Disappointed that LL Bean is moving in this direction, at least with this product.

I ordered this jacket for my husband recently. He's had one for about 15 years and it was time to replace it. When we got this one the collar has flannel on it that is uneven, it looks odd when the jacket is not zipped all the way to the top. He didn't like the look when the jacket was unzipped so we are returning and hoping this changes next year. Also runs a bit on the small side.

I have had one of these jackets in men's small since I was big enough to wear one (female). They used to be a favorite. Still have one that's a bit tattered in color: sailcloth / sea foam green fleece interior My mom had one in nautical yellow / navy fleece interior. I also had mariner blue/ mariner blue fleece, Navy / burgundy fleece, Warden's green/ grey fleece..... that's when the colors and fit were great!!!! I had a moss khaki /grey fleece as well but it was much lighter than the one you currently have listed. I recently ordered the " new" color.... it was much darker than the picture and the cuffs and band around the bottom were an ugly color that came off as a disgusting greenish color compared to the jacket. For some reason the newer jackets have a crinkle sound when you move... the waist band is very tight but seems to loosen up. The sleeves up near the shoulders/bicep area are unusually wide (way to much room and puffy looking). The overall quality of the jacket is not what it used to be. Very disappointing!
In my opinion LLBean stands for time honored value, quality and tradition..... please go back to the original style, fabric and bring back some of the older, rich colors. You have two colors right now that are basically "orange"!!!
Try adding a traditional khaki color/ navy fleece - fatigue green/ camo fleece and please, please, please fix the overall fit.
Thankfully your scotch plaid flannel has maintained its quality and styling!!! Please reclaim that quality for these jackets!
Several other women at the barn also owned these men's jackets (preferred to the women's version)..... back in the day..... they just looked good and worked!!

I rarely write reviews, but this is the first time I've ever been disappointed in an LL Bean product especially for the price of it. Upon removing the jacket from the shipping plastic it was extremely wrinkled. The fleece lining is okay but the exterior material looks like someone wadded it up and slept in it. I tried hanging it up, lightly pressing it, etc., but it remains extremely wrinkled and creased on both the sleeves and back. My sister-in-law even commented on how wrinkled it looks. It's too much effort to mess with returning it so I'll just donate it to a local shelter. Someone who needs a jacket isn't going to care about how it looks. I love LL Bean products, but this one missed the mark.

Fit was fine, quality was fine for a $100 jacket. Ideally it's something you buy on sale. Biggest issue is the color isn't even remotely close to what's online. The moss khaki is 100% green, not khaki at all. This is the number one most annoying thing when companies allow this to happen. Why not represent the color properly?

I loved the jacket, but it's sized way to small for what I purchased and had to send it back. I am going to say it was two sizes small. So if you normally wear a large you need to order a 2XL or your going to be very unhappy when you get it. Sadly LL Bean doesn't have many product for larger guys. That's why I end up buying most of my upper wear at DXL. LL Bean is missing out on a lot of customers by not having larger sizes or even larger sizes that fit compared to other competitors. So needless to say I buy a lot and send a lot back.

I have always been a great admirer and customer of LL BEAN. Since 1978 when I arrived to go to college in ME it was the go to place for anything I needed. My first purchase was an LL Bean Warm Up Jacket. I think I would wear it almost everyday. It was a great 3 season jacket. I wore it to class in the winter with a sweater and in the spring I wore it on the bench at baseball games.
So when I purchased this one I immediately could recognize that it just was not the same. It was certainly lighter and less dense fleece. My idea went from a 3 season to a 2 season as this will do in the spring and fall but it is not what I would consider enough for the winter.
I am keeping it and will adapt but for those who have been around awhile this is not what it used to be, Maybe I should have ordered the KATAHDIN version. They seem to be much more in line with the heavy duty winter clothing I was expecting.

I have purchased this coat in the past and have always liked the product. For some reason I purchased the same size (XL) and it Was way too small. It must have been mislabeled. . I had to return it.

The waist band barely works any more. And I'm not a big guy.

I was disappointed in the Jackets outer material, it is stiff and cheap looking. I was misled by the picture and the colars appearance and expected a smother softer touch. Also like most of all the LL Bean products now being made in 3rd world countries, I don't think it does anything for the quality image you built over the years. As a long time customer that shops LLBean for quality. it is because I want the best and now paying much more for your products I will not accept cheap look-a-likes.

The jacket seems nicely made, but the proportions are so weird that even going down a size wouldn't help. I've had this issue with their flannel shirts before, too. And now I have to pay to return it, too....yay....

i have owned a couple of these warmup jackets from llbean over the years, not for about 10 yrs now. I can tell you that they have changed. the fleece seems thinner not as soft. the jacket is very noisy and brittle when cold, and not as warm as it used to be. sized smaller than before. i got xxl because i wanted room for sweater under jacket, but it is tight so i can't.

I have been a customer since 1965.
I have purchased 3 warm up jackets through the years from LL Bean prior to purchasing these two recent jackets.
I used to weigh 135 pounds, now I weight 145 pounds.
I always purchased LL Bean jackets in size SMALL (S).
These two recent jackets were much larger than the three previous warm up jackets.
They are also of lower quality.
I am disappointed.

I was very disappointed that after only 2 seasons the "banded waistband" lost all elasticity and snugness. I'm 5'11" 190# with a 34" waist so I know I wasn't stressing out the waist of the jacket. Not sure if it's inferior materials or what, but that's my .02.

I've had three of these jackets in the past but I can't buy them again - for modern times they just don't have enough pockets. The one small upper pocket just can't hold everything we carry - key-fob, phone, wallet, iPod etcetera. One more chest pocket plus 1-2 interior pockets would be fine thanks.

After two seasons, the zipper on this jacket broke. Nice jacket but useless with a broken zipper.

Love the warm-up jacket, but the 300 weight fleece lining makes this jacket too bulky. Even 200 weight might be too much bulk.
I have a Bean warm-up jacket that must have 100 weight fleece. It's great for layering.
Come on LLBean bring back the layering-friendly, un-bulky warm-up jacket. Let me know and I will pre-order mine.

I have two of these jackets and the zippers broke on both. Most frustrating to have jackets with much wear left in them, and not be able to use them. Will not purchase another.
