I've worn a couple of pair for a few weeks off and on with Birkenstocks. Not every day mind you. The lower (foot) portion of the socks are disappointingly thin. They have no cushion to them. I do not expect them to last.

Seems like my feet are always cold in the winter, so I've tried many types of wool socks. These are among the warmest. But unfortunately, my two pair both wore out after just a few washings. Each of the socks now have several holes in the heels, and they are very thin in that area. Usually if I have wear problems in socks, it is in the ankle area, but never happens as quickly as with these Ragg socks. Won't be buying these again.

We are usually pleased with the quality of LL Bean products. However, the quality of these socks are sub-par. The heels are thread born, nearly forming holes, after just one year, and my husband only work them in the house with his Glerup slippers. We machine washed them using cold water and gentle detergent (how we normally wash), and we let them air dry (no dryer), so they were "pampered" in terms of care. We would expect better quality for the cost. We would appreciate a refund or exchange.

We bought these for a ski trip out west. My husband's feet and my feet were freezing after one hour of wearing these socks. I would not recommend these socks to anyone for any winter activity. Worst waste of money.

Bought in Mashpee, MA. The pkg contained two sets - onc of which was totally different quality and had the LL Bean logo. They could have been couterfeit or just worn for years and returned.

Rough fabric and the sizing is awful. I wear size 9 men's shoes and the XL socks are too fitted to be comfortable. Total waste of money

The socks are too thin (not heavyweight by any means) and only the ankle part is thick. These are just ankle warmers. They run small, too.

I've enjoyed bean wool socks for decades. These disappointed me! Big hole in heel after two months of wearing occasionally. Boo!

i've worn and loved llbean ragg socks for years with zero complaints. however, the last pair ordered are terrible. if i wear them with shoes, as i've always done, the sloppy, lumpy seams rub across my toes and the knotted ends dig into my feet. the ONLY way they can be worn without causing painful blisters is inside-out! i am so disappointed that llbean has let its quality control slide.

Not the same quality they used to be. Very disappointing. They feel and look cheap and don't hold up. So sad that this is what the quality has come to.

Bought these around Christmas time and they have holes in the heels by June. Didn't last 6 months. Very disappointing for socks this expensive!

I have owned LL Bean wool socks for decades and many have lasted multiple cold weather seasons. These do not fit that description. They are plush and comfortable but are not meant for extended or even outdoor wear. I used these beginning in September and only on coldest of New England days so around twelve days. One of the pairs has
developed a large hole in the heel and shedding lots of material. The cost for these was extreme and the quality is poor. Go with another brand; I'm heading back to the Bean store for a full refund.

Do NOT like these. They look soft and fluffy, but these wool socks do not feel like Merino wool. They are stiff and hot, and my feet always get irritated and hot after wearing these for a few hours. They feel cheap. Cannot wear these. PASS

Has a huge stamped on logo on one sock and the quality has gone down. Won't buy again.

Sadly, unlike the L L. Bean ragg socks of old, which NEVER pulled, even after years and years of wear, this newest version pulled the first time I wore it, and after 3 wears is an absolute shambles.
I am so sorry to have to write this review, as I have always considered L.L. Bean to be the mark of quality.

I bought the size XL for men's shoes size 12 to 15. My man could not even get his foot to start going in these socks. And he wears a size 14 shoe. They are not as stretchy as advertised and I am not a fan of the plastics included in this wool sock. And I'm not paying $6.50 to send them back after paying six dollars to have them shipped to me, which I now see they are dropping their shipping fees in an attempt to get more Christmas sales. Thanks L.L. Bean!
I am utterly disgusted with these socks and will have to now give them to someone with much smaller feet. They do not stretch to accommodate large feet as advertised. In fact, they fit my feet, a lady size 8 while wearing a pair of thicker socks. There is no way my man is going to get these on his feet. I can't trust L.L. Bean sizing.

I loved these socks but they have two holes in the heel. I have only worn them maybe 10 times but probably less. I have other socks from llbean that have lasted me over 20 years so this was a total disappointment.

They're MASSIVE. Don't get these unless you want socks long enough to play socket in. Immediate return. Not worth the $45 either.

the seams at the toes of these socks end in a small knot and that knot is very uncomfortable almost immediately upon lacing up and starting to hike.

I purchased two pairs in May 2023 to replace the two pairs I have had for years. Within six months all four socks had holes in the heels. I wore each pair about once a week, meaning they had holes in them and were useless after wearing each pair about 50 times. I can only assume that either materials or the manufacturing process has changed.

I purchased 4 pairs. They fit ok but 3 out of 4 pairs are already beginning to show signs of wear on the toes and heels. I've only laundered them 2 or 3 times. I don't think they'll last very long.
