The Vibram sole looks excellent for hiking. The design is good but the materials seem a bit lower quality than any hiking boots I have had. There is a weird crackling noise as if they are padded with bubble wrap or something. On the plus side, they cost less than other boots and the last is shaped like my foot. I will have to try larger sizes if I want to find some that fit.

Glad l chose the wide version. I took them on a couple of neighborhood walks and then a hike through mostly sand at Sleeping Bear. They survived well and kept sand out. Super comfortable with minimal breaking in.

Most comfortable sturdy shoe I have found and I wear these every day for the past ~5 years. No footpain at all, no matter how much walking I do. However, they are not waterproof. Both my first and second pair started letting in water after some period of use. Especially when stepping in a puddle, the water seeps in from the sides where the sole and rest of the shoe are joined.

This is the best hiking shoe Ive owned so far. Walking on trails, in caves and some small mountains these shoes were great! They were not too stiff and have great tread on the bottom. Did not feel slippage on rocks or stony trails.

The Moab 3 Waterproof wide width is a perfect fit for me. After trying on every brand available in all price ranges this was the most comfortable fit. After a decent trial period I can now say it is a great shoe. It slips on easily (unlike every other shoe I have owned) and is comfortable even after miles of walking on uneven ground and has a good non-slip grip on the rocks. I bought these after I had the same experience with the mid-height and I'll be ordering a back up pair of both. Please don't discontinue these.

Great fit. Relatively light. I wont know for sure until I wear them in. Am preparing for the Camino de Santiago. These will carry my old feet.

Moab 3 Waterproof is a repeat purchase for me. The waterproof feature keeps wet grass at bay, and the Vibram sole helps avoid slipping. Fit is troublesome for me: Long foot, short toes, high arch – normal size in hiking/athletic is 7M. (Dress shoes 6.5 medium. or wide) I'd expect to fit a 7 medium or wide in this shoe, But the area above the fourth toe (ring toe) is just too short. So I kept the 7.5 W, even though in the foot and arch portion I would have preferred a 7 W. Zappos as so dependable, always perfect and super fast.

Merrell Moabs used to be my go-to light hiker. They ran narrow enough for my narrow, low-volume feet and fit perfectly. Now the 10s are too short and the 10 1//2s are ridiculously large. They fit in the heel and mid-shoe, but the toe box is huge in both sizes. Frustrating.

These shoes were great. I had tried a number of shoes before I finally found these. Comfortable and no blisters. Great for hiking the Alpe di Siusi in Italy.

I work in a plant nursery where my feet are getting wet from watering plants. These shoes do the job of keeping my feet dry. I love them!

I bought this pair of shoes for a hiking trip to Moab, Utah a few weeks ago. It was the best investment ever, these shoes were so comfortable, and waterproof. I would recommend them to anyone.

Repeat purchase of Moab Waterproof. I appreciate the Vibram sole, and the waterproof feature. I had a hard time deciding between 7 Wide and 7 1/2 Wide. My foot fit in the 7, but the toes were a bit cramped. I think the toe box is a bit too narrow at the end. As it hits the toe next that's next to my pinky toe, as if the end of the shoe cuts in too soon. I decided for the additional toe room of 7.5. Zappos is SO fast and accurate.

All-over comfortable shoe, as was a Moab mid height hiking shoe I bought many years ago. Hope it proves waterproof as advertised! Has good arch support for my feet and heel fits snugly.

I wore my Moab 3 waterproof hiking shoes to London and Ireland. During a torrential rain my feet were in a few inches of water and my feet stayed dry! They were very comfortable the first time I wore them!

Moab 3 shoes are made well with excellent padding around the ankle. The insoles I did not like. Too soft with the flo ones. The other ones were too hard and too high for the arch. My foot was aching from them so I inserted something soft and sturdy with thick tough foam. Shoe lace were too short so I took them out a notch and tied them double know. Now I can slip into them, no problem. I recommend them.

These shoes are not waterproof! Just walking in wet grass and the dew leaked through the top mesh area. Very disappointed since this shoe claims to be waterproof.

I bought these because I was traveling to Ireland where it's rocky and rainy. They have some arch support so I found them to be very comfortable. They prevented me from slipping and sliding on the rocky terrain and they kept my feet dry. I am very happy with my purchase.
