I absolutely love these hiking boots! The outside is very durable. The rubber at the bottom of the boots is elevated, so it easily grips to difficult terrain. Sometimes, when the rubber grips are large like this, the treads wear quickly, but these boots hold up to wear and tear. And they are super comfy. I was surprised how my feet felt comfortable after every hike in these boots. I will admit I didn't go through any puddles, so I cannot speak to how these boots hold up against the elements, but I would definitely take my chances with these boots. I found these boots to be true to size as well, so if you tend to wear really thick socks, you may want to order up a half size. Would recommend to my fellow adventurers!

I have plans to hike in the state parks in my area with my dog this summer so I assume there might be some steep climbing or descending trails so I wanted sturdy and comfortable hiking shoes. I love these Merrill Moab hiking shoes, first they look great and they are indeed comfortable and feel sturdy against my foot and ankles. Great padding around the ankle and foot and the tread is raised in parts to grip the surfaces. Safety is so important and with these shoes on I feel secure and comfortable. Ready to hit the trails!

This is a really good hiking shoe, it is very comfortable straight out of the box. I like how durable they are. I am so happy these are waterproof, they will be getting a lot of wear in the coming month when we go hiking. They have nice rubber soles, a tongue that keeps out debris, and a nice protective toe cap. I like the toe cap very much since things fall on my toes all the time, and now it won't hurt when that happens. They fit well, and I am very much happy with them.

I absolutely adore these shoes. I broke my ankle almost two years ago and have screws and plates in my right foot. This means I have to be mindful of how shoes fit, since there's a nub from the screw that rubs against stuff if not careful. These come up a bit higher but don't hit that spot, so this is a plus. They add major stability to the ankles since they are a higher rise boot. I mowed in them this past weekend, and these shoes are a life changer. My backyard is very uneven and spots dug up from dogs, so usually scared about tripping. Stepped into one of the holes and these kept the ankles from rolling and giving way. Very lightweight, even though they don't look like it. Feet also did not get hot. The insoles conform to the feet perfectly and long walks/hikes in these are going to be a breeze. Perfect shoe. Oh, before I forget. Usually a size 10, but got these in a 10.5 and "chefs kids". This'll be perfect for fall when wanting to wear thicker socks. The size up isn't majorly noticeable.

I own 4 pairs of Merrel. They are my favorite shoes. I am between a 7.5 and an 8. I tried the Moab Mid in 7.5 and they were a bit short to wear with thick hiking socks. I have a condition where my right big toe needs a rigid sole otherwise it hurts, and I didn't find the Moab's sole rigid enough for me. So I'm going to buy another model as soon as my size is restocked. The Moab Mid was the right height, comfortable right out of the box and cute. There was a lot of wiggle room in the toe box, which I like. They made my feet look smaller too. I wish I could have kept them.

I bought a pair of Moab 2 mid waterproof boots last year and absolutely loved them, but when I continued hiking in the winter I realized my boots were too small, especially when I wore 2 pairs of socks. I absolutely loved my Moab 2's and when I realized there were Moab 3's that recently came out I didn't even hesitate! I ordered one size larger than my Moab 2's and they fit perfectly. I love that I don't have to break in my Merrell's before wearing them.

This is an excellent shoe, well-made and could be comfortable if you get your right size. Unfortunately, for me, the size 11 fits like a 10 1/2. This will not be comfortable for my toes when hiking. Unfortunately, there is no 11.5 in women's. Merrell, please correct this.

They are pretty comfortable, but not quite as comfortable as the Merrill Moab hiking boots that I bought last year. These are supposed to be a better quality. Maybe I will buy the other ones again and compare them at home

I ordered a half size up but they still felt like they’d be too short towards the end of the day/hike when feet usually swell. They might work in cold weather, but not in the summer. Also, the sole felt really stiff compared to my other Merrells. I’m sending them back and haven’t decided whether I’ll try again with a larger size.

They are good, but not quite as comfy as I'd hoped. There isn't enough padding and with the slight heel there is too much pressure on the ball of my foot. I'm trying to add inserts to make them more comfortable.

The arch is too close to the heel. Cute shoe but sent back due to this causing me some discomfort in the arch area. I wear a 7.5 and they were true to size.

My third pair of the same great hiking boots. Still comfortable but the toe box is not as wide as my previous pairs, which is a little disappointing as I need the wide toe box to accommodate my bunions.

If I had reviewed this yesterday, five stars, no problem. But after a 6 miler today in mostly snow I am rather disappointed. I wanted to give the Moab 3 100 miles before my review and today's performance was not what I expected. The fit is great and I appreciate the longer laces. The snug heel side "cheeks" took some getting used to, but I like them. I wish they had a gaiter loop up front so I wouldn't have to hook my gaiters onto my laces. The wetness today is a real bummer, though. I've been a loyal Moab wearer, so much so that I bought three pairs of the orginal when I understood they were changing the model. Fit is still great.

So sad these didn’t feel wide enough. I bought the same size in the Moab low cut hiking shoe and these are not manufactured the same way. Low cut shoe is a true wide, this is not. 7.5 w was too tight, and the 8w is huge.

These boots are cute in the Bungee Cord 1 color. I ordered these in 7.5 W. The size was great, but the width was a bit snug, even with thin socks. I would like to wear heavier socks for the colder weather here in PA. I will be returning these, cause of the width not being wide enough for my short pudgy feet.

The length is fine. The width --I ordered a 5 Wide-- is too narrow . The arch support is too high and in the wrong spot for my feet. The removal of the innersoles helps with the arch support problem. But, I will not be able to hike any with the ridiculously under- wide wide width; I cannot wear my well-padded SmartWool sox with these shoes. Walks of half a mile to the grocery store with thin six should be ok, unless blisters form, of course.

I loved my last pair of Merrill so I tried to buy another pair. This one is higher on the ankle so rubbed me a lot. I thought it would go away when I wore it longer, but it hasn't. It also is not as waterproof as my previous pair. I don't know why it isn't as good.

Bought these a couple days ago. Very comfortable. Wore them for the first time today on a short hike in the woods. It wasn't raining, but the foliage was damp. My feet were wet within 30minutes.

Good boots but most definitely not waterproof! I'm a San Fran East Bay resident and usually hike on Mount Diablo and in the local regional parks and open spaces. I purchased these at my local Sports Basement in August to replace a pair of Keen waterproof hiking boots that I wore almost daily through last year's rainy season. I wore the Moab 3 boots six times to hike our dry August/September trails and was quite satisfied with the comfort level and grip on rocky terrain. Then I took them to Montana to hike in Glacier National Park. My first hike there was an early morning one-mile nature trail at the northwest edge of the park. No creek or lake crossings were involved. The high grass surrounding the trail was very damp with the morning dew. The boots were soaked through after that short one-mile loop. I returned to my cabin where I poured an eighth of an inch of water out of the right boot and changed dripping wet socks. I hiked the remainder of my Glacier NP trip in my sneakers. Sports Basement accepted my return so I'm satisfied with the outcome but these boots are simply not waterproof. They'd be fine for a year-round dry climate/desert hiking.

I so wanted these to work to replace another pair of Merrells (mid) in size 9, because they could no longer accommodate my bunion, I had purchased the Moab 3 hiking shoe, which fit fine, but I really needed the mid style for ankle support. Unfortunately, for some reason my feet were floating around too much in these. (Need forefoot width for bunion and a narrower cut for heel. Returned these and kept the hiking shoe version.
