These are not the most attractive shoes, but they can't be beat for hiking. Very comfortable right out of the box. Great in mud and wet conditions; not slippery in snow. True to size.

Bought for hiking in Sedona. Love the boots. First comfortable boot I have worn in over 60 years of age! Great for wide feet, secure tread, extremely well made, and durable. Love the color and style.

Narrowed my search for a comfortable, light boot to keep me comfortable on the 102-mile Cotswold Way in May. Compared this boot to the HOKA Anacapa Mid....and I mean closely compared. Wore one on each foot for 6 hours inside, and decided the Merrill had the structure to support arches and ankles on a long walk; not quite as cushy as the HOKA, but still VERY comfortable. So far, I've used these on a 4-mile slushy trail with occasional icy patches hike - feet stayed dry, and warm - traction on these soles is fantastic compared to other boots I've had...ice is ice, but these seem to provide some grip even on slick spots. Warmth rating - I wore a BOMBA's Merino wool hiking sock in 16-degrees, my feet were toasty for a 5-hour outing. Final test - 3-mile walk around town on cement sidewalks - great arch support, very lightweight and suitable for those road sections of the trail. DId I mention they have kept my feel totally dry in slush 2" deep? Love these! Easy to lace and remove. SIZING - I usually wear a Womens 9 for run or hike; ordered both a 9 and 9.5 in these - the 9 seemed TINY, but 9.5 is great, roomy toe box. Sizing on these may be inconsistent - Zappos rocks on returns so order a couple sizes to compare if you're unsure.

These hikers are incredible. I originally had the Moab 2 and only had to replace them because the heel got squished in a move. Decided to upgrade to Moab 3 and I'm so glad I did. Comfort - check Grip - check (dirt and snow) Breathability - check These are my holy grail hikers! For reference, I'm a size 7.5 women's with average width feet.

I've only worn these once to test them out. They were comfortable right out of the box. I was going to order the wide width because of a bunion on my right foot, but it was not necessary. The medium width was wide enough. I have not tested them to see if they are really waterproof yet, but I will review again, once I have. They are also super cute!

The size fits me perfectly. The sole is sturdy. The waterproofing helps keeps my feet warm. The insoles are removable so my orthotics fit perfectly. These are the most comfortable shoes I currently own.

I have a pair of the Merrell Moab 2 Mid Waterproofs that need to be replaced. After trying many other brands/styles, I decided to stick with what I knew worked for me and went with the Moab 3 Mids. I did try both an 8.5 (the size of my Moab 2's) and a 9.0 based on other reviewers' recommendations...and it's true that the Moab 3's run about a half size smaller. I went with the 9.0's. Haven't tested these outdoors yet but initial impression is that they are comfortable and have a little bit more arch support than my Moab 2's. Looking forward to testing them out on a hike soon.

Love these hiking boots. I’m more comfortable in these than sneakers because the sole protects from rocks. I have high instep and these don’t hurt the top of my foot like other hiking boots. I bought a 1/2 size bigger because I like thick socks.

Very comfortable for moderate hiking in Patagonia. Minimal break-in required. Wide width was important.

Comfortable, well made, perfect fit. I only wear Merrells, so I might be biased! I think right now I have 8 pairs, all different styles. I love them all!

Great ankle and planter support. Fairly light weight and waterproof. My feet are wide, and the wide size boots fits perfectly well.

I put my Merrell's on at 5:30 every morning and they come off around 8:00 pm. They have the best support for my ankle and feel great on!!! I started wearing them when I was working in the hospital and having to walk to get medical records. Now I am a remote certified medical coder, but I still wear them!! I LOVE my Merrell's!!!!

I've never been a wide-shoe person before but having tried regular and wide, this time, it's a wide for me. They feel great. Very comfortable and supportive.

My FIRST MID WIDE boots and I've chosen RIGHT! Love it! Love the (altitude) more light-blue color, super comfy for my daily hour-long walks and everyday, everywhere use. Can't wait to wear them for spring/summer hikes.

Love these boots. The most comfortable hiker shoes I have ever owned. I tried a pair of Keens but only wore them for about three months, needed my Merrell's back. I can walk on the trails for hours and no pain what so ever my feet, plus my feet stay nice and dry. If you ever want to wear a pair of shoes straight out of the box without having to wear them in BUY THESE.

Great hiking boots! Strong woven upper was what I was after due to having bruised toenails from previous leather hiking boots. Bought the Bungee Cory last time and now the Burgundy as I love them so much!

I usually wear a size 10 sneaker, but I ordered 1/2 size up with these because of my experience trying Merrells in the past. The length was perfect. The shoe is quite comfortable but because of the arthritis in the ball of my right foot I need even more padding! If it wasn't for that I think that these would have been my favorites so far! I would have given it 5 stars for comfort if it hadn't been for my arthritis.

This was a replacement pair for an identical pair I had for several years. I do lots of walking in the winter and these have proven to be the best and the grip deals with the conditions no problem.
