Disappointing that Merrell would price a shoe that high that has such terrible support, I had to put in aftermarket insoles which made them slightly better. I hope Merrell gets a clue & realize making shoes with much greater cushion will make the difference.

I’ve had Moab 2’s for a while and these for a while and still have both - and I’m sure of it they’ve done something to the footbed that makes them less comfortable. I feel like the part that should be under my arch is touching my heel slightly and it’s not like unbearable but a little annoying. My Moab 2 does not do that, it sets right in - same size and everything…

Soles wear out enough in less than a year to cause knee pain.

I have old Moab’s same size and they fit my foot but the problem is the arch support. It’s clearly changed and it’s set too far back near my heal. It’s just plain and simple not comfortable like the old design. It’s like it’s pushing me awkwardly forward. Moab - please listen to this you have to know it. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Go back to the old structure.

Used to love the Moab series, but several years ago Merrell decided to add unnecessary arch support to their boots. Its like somebody is stabbing me in the arch. They aren't the only company that has done this. I generally go thru a pair of boots every 6-12 months, so its frustrating. I keep trying every year to see if they have changed their design and I'm always disappointed. This version the arch support isn't as pronounced, but the boot runs about 1/2 size smaller so its still not going to work. The padding on the upper is comfortable though.

Six months moderate use. I love them, absolutely love them but not as "Waterproof " as advertised and not as rugged either. You be the judge. PS. Trying Moab 3 GORE-TEX because this is still the most amazing hiking boot on the planet.

Only issue I have is that the tongue does not seal with the crown of the boot because it is too narrow. The tongue is not wide enough to give a good seal.

The fit is not as good as my old Merrels. One shoe seems slightly smaller than the other. Too soon to know how they will wear.

I ordered several pairs and these were the least comfortable... still very nice, but #3 of 3

Eyelets wear out quick. Not a hiker to be lacing up and making tighter as you go. Rest of the shoe wears well.

Saw the great reviews. Looked nice and well made. Does not fit with orthotics. Difficult to pick size with orthotic. Returned pair and will buy in person to get right fit

These shoes have always fit well, feel comfortable, BUT they are not really waterproof no matter which ones you buy. They may initially be good but rarely stay dry inside more than an hour, even with relatively light rain or in the woods with wet leaves. Any waterproofness fades rapidly over time and I've had to relegate these and any of my Merrells to dry days. Very sad.

Fits well. Looks great. After wearing for a month and first time hiking in slushy 2" snow, the right shoe leaks all along the right side.

Good looking and comfortable shoe. But not even remotely waterproof, not even water resistant. 5 minutes in wet grass and my feet were soaked.

I bought these hiking shoes 2 yrs ago to walk the dog. Generally, every day a one hour walk despite the weather conditions . Comfort and fit wise they are excellent. My main complaint was loss of weather proofing after 6 months. Despite reapplying weatherproofing after a major cleaning , water would still get in. Eventually after even walking on wet grass, I would have to change my soaks. I now use them only on dry days.

Good comfort but back upright is too soft not allowing for easy entry of your heel . Needs to be stiffer like other Merrell's I have purchased. I have to bend down reach behind the heel to get it started. I'm 6'3" and 225 so not so easy.

I purchased the Moab 2 and found them very comfortable and appreciated the water resistance. The sole lost a chunk after a few months. Merrell credited me enough to replace them with Moab 3. A few months later the same thing happen. I am hoping my 2nd Moab 3 replacement will do the trick. The trail I use is a bit rocky but expect the sole should handle without issues.

I bought these to hike the C2C in England last month after seeing the forecast looked rather wet. I got the wide fit and found them very comfortable. Paired with good wool socks I had zero blisters over the 200 miles. My issue was with the waterproofing, even wearing gaiters my feet got wet quite quickly on some days. One particular downpour I could feel the water 'sloshing' in my right boot to the point where I got a break in the rain I had to ring out that sock! (Have an upcoming hike in Japan and not sure whether to try the GTX version?)

We have purchased Merrell boots for several years. They have consistantly been a very good fit and comfortable boot, no break in required. However, we just purchased the Moab 3 and was surprised to find them quite uncomfortable to walk in. The insole was extremely insufficient, totally lacking in arch support. I did call customer service and the service representative was extremely helpful and sent us the kinetic insoles which provided the support we were looking for. It is an extremely lightweight boot which we like
