these are good all around shoes. The only thing is they need more support and better insoles to be on your feet all day.

I took these out of the box when they arrived at my house. I put them in my feet. Best fitting hiking boots/shoes I ever had. Been wearing them for a week now. Feet feel great.

This is my second pair of Moab's. The first pair I wore in Afghanistan and everywhere else and loved them. I wore them so often and through all types of terrain, I eventually had to buy another pair. This pair just like the first are amazing and comfortable. Absolutely 5 stars with this boot. The only change I would make is I wish it had a better insole which I changed on both pair.

These boots really compliment your legs and body, they do feel great when walking up and down trails. Oh and most definitely are water proof, kepy my feet dry and cozy. Overall they feel great and look awesome. 4 stars because I did have to get use to the boot or break them in a little. Bottom of my foot felt like nerves were getting pulled or something. But when I tightend my laces at the tongue it went away maybe I had it too loose and caused my foot to slip into weird positions causing my foot muscle some pain.

Waterproofing wore out in less than a year. Second pair of Merrell and had this problem with both pairs. Hiking 1.5 miles in to hunt for 4 hours with wet feet in 20 degree conditions is not fun.

Great boot! I wore them recently in a 5 mile mountain hike. Comfortable and gave my feet and ankles great support.

No blisters on 3 days of continuous hiking in wet muddy conditions without previously breaking in. Would give 5 stars but waterproofing could possibly be better.

Great fit and support; but NOT waterproof! I really liked these boots for dry hiking, but when in wet grass or rain they seep water into the shoe. Still quite comfortable but I think I would get the water proof version next as these get very wet inside the shoe.

Have both a high and low pair. Had the low shoe first and like it. Higher one not so much. Heel feels to high. Seems to encourage me to lean and walk back on my heels. Fits well otherwise but is uncomfortable to walk around because of the weird balance feeling.

I have been buying Moabs since the Moab 1. The 3rd Gen seems to be the lightest and I like the new colors. The shoes seem to hold together well, with no separation of the soles or upper toe webbing. The soles on the Moab 3s are the longest lasting by far, wearing out slower than the Moab 2s. However, the uppers don't seem to feel as robust, and feel less supportive that the Moab 2s. But what's REALLY annoying, is the laces - they come untied CONSTANTLY and need to be tightly double knotted from the first day of wearing. This all started with the Moab 2s, but usually not until after a couple months of wear. While I like the LOOK of the laces, I absolutely HATE having to tightly double knot them just so they don't untie themselves after 15 minutes of wear!

I was wearing a men's size 7 wide in the Moab 2 boot, and wore out many pairs. (The women's model wasn't wide enough for me.) This new design is substantially different; I had to get a half size larger, so I hope they end up being as comfortable and supportive as the Moab 2...time will tell. It's very frustrating when companies redesign a favorite, best-selling product. There was nothing about the Moab 2 that needed to change. Maybe new colors, but not the basic shoe. I wish they'd stop. For those with regular old medium width feet, I guess they have lots of options. Those of us with wide feet, bunions, etc., have very few options and when a shoe gets discontinued, it's a real big problem for people like me.

I have bin wearing this stile shoe for many years . I recently purchased 2pairs , different colors, and they both had one lace loop break the second time I had worn them .I don't wear them for work , just kicking around ..Im very disappointed and am considering finding a shoe that last more than 2 wearings.

I have worn the Moab 2 Mid Wide ( J06045W ) for many many years and was told it was no longer made and that the Moab 3 Mid Wide ( J035869W ) now takes it place which I ordered and what I have seen so far its not close to the older Moab 2 --- The new Moab 3 does not fit well like its over size and to me does not have the support the older one had---Not happy with there move on this. Not sure what will do when I have to find a new one. I do go though this boot about every 6 months.

First, these are regular Moab 3. I'm not sure why people think this pair is waterproof. I wanted to like this and I still wear them to work. (Until they wear out even more) I have this and the waterproof version. Super comfortable right away but once they break in too much padding has worn down and it's uncomfortable. The wide still isn't wide enough. Making the transition to foot shaped 0 drop as my feet are less sore in them.

Quite uncomfortable due to an obvious design flaw. The arch support is too far back towards the heel, not where a person's arch actually is. It's the shoe itself, not the insole, that causes this problem. Even though the size is right and the arch support appears to be the right height, it's just uncomfortable. So I am not willing to try hiking in these.

Not as comfortable out of the box as the Moab 2s. The arch support is a little painful. Maybe after there broken in a little they will feel better...?

I've been a serial Merrell Moab user for the last several years. I would wear a pair out and buy another pair about every 12 to 18 months. I always found them comfortable and a good fit. However, the last pair I bought has worn out the sole in less than 9 months. I walk 3 miles almost every day. I can't resole them, so I am researching other choices.

Not as well built as the past...First time wearing them the lace "holder" on the tongue tore out. The stitching just doesn't seem to be like old Merrell quality. Going to think about whether or not to keep or return.

It seems like a good shoe but is soft and unstructured which some may prefer. I need a more stable shoe around my ankles for support and am looking for the all leather version of the shoe. The insole is very thin and of little value and I would recommend an after-market insole; the shoe is wide enough for my thicker orthotics.
I'd also recommend:
Keen, Brooks, Georgia Boot

Digging into my arch. I have a neutral arch and was painful almost immediately. Moab 1's were way better. I was hoping the Moab 3 would be an improvement over the Moab 2's, but it was not by much.
