It seems well made. I did have a thread sticking out.

Warm and sturdy. Fits just right. Just wish it could be washed in washing machine on delicate cycle with cold water and laid flat to dry. My wife shrank my other one doing that. Bummer!

I bought this sweater together with a Commando sweater. For my physique the Commando sweater is a little better fit. I take a 37" sleeve length and have a 36" waist. The Ragg sweater is long enough in the sleeve to still allow a cuff turn back, and long enough in the body to come well below my waist. It is a bit roomier than the Commando sweater, i.e. not as fitted. It is a better fit over a thick shirt, say a flannel shirt, or denim. The knit is quite loose, so it does not stop wind much. It is warm, but best under a jacket on a cold, windy day. Like all wool, it gets baggier with wear, and pills up, especially on the sleeves. I am going to add suede elbow patches to prevent the elbows from wearing through. All in all, it's a nice, warm wool sweater. It also has a very woolly smell like oiled wool, which I find fantastic, but might not be everybody's choice.

Very comfortable and true to size. If the weave was a bit tighter, it would rate a five. Bean sweaters last for years if not a decade.

Really like the quality of the material and the craftsmanship. Medium weight, simple and stylish. This is a classic that is simply comfortable. True to size, a no brainer for holiday gifts. I'm 6'1", 195lbs and bought an XL because I like a slight baggy appearance. Great Lakes region weather so I plan to wear it often!

It's an excellent sweater if not too big. Not true to size.

This is ragg wool sweater has a more relaxed fit than the one I bought last year, which I like, especially in the sleeves. I haven't worn it as much as I planned because of the peculiar smell. It smells like it was treated in marine diesel fuel. It has been a few weeks since I received it, and I have seen some improvement.

Sweater is a little larger than sweater I really wanted. I had purchased a few Lambs wool or merino, wool, sweaters a while ago and wanted the same as these are in need of replacement. You now have a pocket
On chest with zipper.WHY did you do that. The sweater is no longer a sweater I would like,to,purchase. It is too casual looking. Did you have any ideas of bringing back the original design? If so please let me know as I would like to purchase it. Thank you. Heidi Graham ( these are for my son)

I bought this in Fall, 2019 for my husband. He wore it every day, morning to night, for six months, and is wearing it now in Fall, 2020. The fit is perfect. He says it feels very warm and soft. The knit is a bit "rustic": very thick yarn and large stitches. I wish it were slightly finer gauge, but he's been happy with it. I bought another one today. I hope the 2020 item is just as good.

My husband has been wearing Bean's ragg wool sweaters for years. He has always worn a large. I checked each of the 4 current sweaters he has and they are all large. So I ordered a large. It is gigantic! At least 4 inches wider than his other sweaters, longer, arms longer, etc. I am sending it back for a medium, which I hope is still not too large. Where is the consistency year to year???

I bought the grey buttoned collar Henley, quality, perfect fit and style for a necktie. Looks reverent for me a Baptist minister. O how I wish it came in a true navy and a black. Would definitely buy more.

I've been wearing these rag wool sweaters for years. I get upset when LL doesn't have them stocked. Comfortable and warm at a decent price. I wear out the elbows so leather patches would be a nice touch and then 5 stars. More colors would be nice also for this dyed in the wool customer. Keep 'em coming.

Yes, it has a smell. It smells like wool! If you can't handle that or be patient enough for it to dissipate like all wool things, then go buy a cheap polyester sweater at Target. This is a quality made wool sweater and I look forward to many years of use. The tall option is what led me here. I'm rather lean and lanky, so the Medium Tall fits perfectly. For reference, I usually wear slim fit dress shirts in 16.5" x 36" and a 43XL jackets/coats. Only 4 stars now because this is brand new and I do not know how durable it is. With that being said, I have no reason to suspect issues.

Nice looking sweater, fits well and true to size. However, the wool fabrication is a bit rough to the touch and starting to pill on the sleeves.

Fit is fine but medium is far too long for my 5'5" 130lb body.

A quick visual inspection was very disappointing. Flaws and poor workmanship were immediately visible. For the first time in more than 40 years of buying from LL Bean I was sorry for having made a purchase.
The easy return policy was convenient but now where do I find a great Ragg sweater?

Love this sweater, the item number and size was the same as another sweater my husband has, but this one was 3" longer in the length and 1" longer in the sleeves.
I was able to call and talk with someone at LL Bean and a new one is on its way.

This review is not favorable. The sweater is pretty vanilla, inasmuch, no fancy design ... just straight stitch. I have had other wool sweaters from LL Bean that were A+, but this one was one to wear to the garage and change the oil. The wool is not first class, and after the second time it is worn, it losses its shape. Not worth wearing because it simply hangs on your waste looking like a sack. I am sure LL Bean made a lot of money on this item. Sorry, its not worth the 70 or 80 bucks it cost, even with their discount. Find a better one that you wouldn't mind showing off in front of your friends.
