Discovered that it must be hand washed. I returned it.

Poorly made. I'm disappointed with this sweater. I'm 5'10", 210 lbs. and always were an XL. This sweater was oversize on me. Also, the yarns were very loosely woven. After wearing it for a couple of hours it had stretched half way down to my knees.

I loved LL Bean Ragg wool sweaters. But, not this one! The knit was loose, the body was way too long and out of proportion, the neck was loose and sloppy. The color was beautiful.
I sent it back. I will appreciate the ones I have a bit longer.

Terrible quality! Sleeves and side started pilling within hours of first wear! Loved the feel and warmth, but this sweater would look horrible in no time! Disappointed!

Fit is very loose. Super baggy, giant neck opening.

I purchased a large, which my other LLB sweaters are. The sweater I got was way longer in the sleeves (they measured just under 37 in) and body length (it measures 30 inches) than the size guide says a Large should be. Looks and feels way too big. Will have to try a medium. If that fits, then be aware that this sweater comes way oversized. If it doesn't, then perhaps mine was mis-marked and is actually an XL.

Very disappointed. Sweater pilled on the sleeves during first wear - can't imagine things will improve. Not happy.

LL Bean once stood for quality. This sweater and the return process is proof the company has fallen badly from its once top level brand. The sweater is not soft, it is extremely itchy and needs a layer underneath it. It also has a strong smell of lamb which I assume you would need to wash out.
Further when I went to rerun the item their customer service department INSISTED that I pay the restocking fee of $6.50. They cannot and would not waive it under any circumstances. This is abysmal customer service so be forewarned. If you buy this they will charge you to return it online no matter what.

Nothing wrong with the sweater (I own the blue ragg version), but the color was awful, I thought. Red Heather Ragg is not very red at all. I have returned it.

The size guide was nowhere close for my 6'3, 240'pound body. I bought the XL Tall, which was something close to a skirt. I then bought the XL which also was too long. So now I have close to 1,000 dollars in unwearable stock that I need to return. Hopefully I can return everything with no problem. The sweaters do look great though when I am not wearing them.

I've worn this sweater for about 6 years.
I'm disappointed because the elbow wore out.
Yes. That's right.
It was my favorite sweater until the right elbow wore out without provocation under nothing except normal wear.
So not happy with that.
Not recommended for long term "Favorite Sweater" designation for that reason.

Perfect size and fit. Great looking sweater.
BUT, smells like chemicals. Probably dye.
Eyes burned and coughed when trying on.
Will return.
Disappointing.

This sweater looks like it would be a nice warm sweater. However, it smells so bad, I can't imagine wearing it. I washed it to try and remove the smell. I laid it out on the dining room table to dry. It made the whole house stink. I don't know what they treated this wool with, but I will be returning this stink bomb.

Just received this sweater and it stinks. The odor will gag you when you open the bag.

My other ragg wool sweaters have NEVER smelled like this. I thought if I put it through the wash it might kill the smell...uh...I don't recommend that...fuzz went all over the washing machine. I gave up and threw it out. I want to order another ragg wool sweater but I'm worried it could smell the same.
Who ever heard of a sweater 'smelling'??? I've never had this problem, from LL Bean, before. It was unfortunate.
The fit was too large and too long for a medium, I was wondering if I had gotten a Tall by mistake, but it was a Regular. I would suggest ordering down a size.

When I took this sweater out of the mailing package, I was hit by a strong chemical odor. I let the sweater air out for a day, but to no avail. It is manufactured in China and is clearly treated with incredibly strong and pungent chemicals. I put the sweater on, but could wear it for only a few moments due to the smell. It's a nice-looking sweater, but for your health, do not order it.
