I've had this Sweater for a week now and I'm completely in love with it. I own a lot of wool sweaters that are different wools thicknesses and weaves. This one is woven to be thick and durable. The break-in was remarkably fast, about two days. After the break-in, the wool is perfectly soft. The fit is a little slimmer and looks a little more modern than some of the traditional wool sweaters. I'm very happy with this one.

This sweater is beautifully made, very warm and good looking. I am not a fan of Chinese made goods but the workmanship and character and very fair price justifies my purchase. The wool is very soft and it fits well. It is comfortable wearing all day, not feeling constrained. Highly recommended.

It's a great sweater -- warm, soft, and comfortable. Thick but not too thick. The smell is not chemical, as previous commenter complained. It smells like a lambswool sweater ought to smell. If it's too strong for you at first, give it a few days in the fresh air. Very much recommend this well made, good looking sweater and very much hope L.L. Bean puts out even more classic styles like this.

Excellent sweater! In my comfort zone! The color is perfect!

Heavier than expected, and weave was very chunky. I sent it back because it was warmer than we need in the Seattle area. My partner said it would be perfect for northeast cold climates. Quality seemed good, although we did not keep it so can't speak to durability.

A little loose around the neck compared to others I purchased from LL Bean.

Great around house sweater does not grip waist . Would look better if the waist were narrow.

It's beautiful, but I fear that it's a little itchy, as wool can be. My nephew had just a t-shirt on under it, and I noticed him scratching his neck. Also the sleeves seemed very long, but maybe my nephew just has arms on the short side.

96 yo very picky Dad LOVED it. Made me throw out cheap quality merino wool from another brand. ONLY wants LL Bean. FOREVER.

I am starting my second season with two of these sweaters bought in 2024. They are comfortable, warm and fit me well. My main objection is the pilling of the wool. I have noticed this on several of the the Bean wool sweaters. It is disappointing but I tolerate it.

As a man I don't usually select bright colors. Otherwise these sweaters are great have bought them for many years

I bought this classic sweater for work at the ship but with in six months it has pills, especially on the sides, under the arms.

I ordered the XL Tall size as I'm 6' 4.75" and 190lbs, built like a basketball player. The sweater fit well in the sleeves and the length of the torso, the only issue was the neck opening was quite large. If it was smaller it would have fit me perfect. For a 100% wool sweater it seems like a good value for the price.

Looks sharp. Runs a little big. No doubt it will last for many many years.

My husband loves this sweater but it's the first time I've seen a sweater shed like this - it's all over the floor and despite me picking it off the sweater it keeps shedding little wool balls. I'm washing it now to see if that helps (yes, I know how to wash wool).

The color through me a little. I thought it was grey.

It's a pretty sturdy sweater, the only knock is that it is pretty itchy, so if you aren't wearing a long sleeve baselayer under it, it can be uncomfortable. Otherwise, it's well built, fits like you'd expect, and looks nice.

As usual, good quality but fits tighter than some other medium size sweaters I've bought from LLBean. That inconsistency can be frustrating when trying to determine what size to order.

only negative is the cuff around the body of the sweater. It is too loose, could use some elastic material in to tighten up around weareres body.

Very warm & even keeps the breezes at bay. The only thing i don't love is that it is bulkier and less cosy than the Shetland sweater that is almost the same color, but was a little oranger and nicer, that I got from LL Bean about 5 years ago. The only reason i got this one is that they don't sell Shetlands any longer and the one i have is totally worn out. I still love it best.

This sweater fits great, looks good, and is very warm. It was delivered in a timely fashion. The only negative is that it pills easily.

I normally wear a Medium, as a matter of fact, I had to exchange the Medium for a small. The sweater runs big on both the chest and the sleeve. I wear a 42 in jackets and wear a shirt with a 32 in. sleeve. The Small fits perfectly.
