Traditional fit. Keeps you warm outside, not too warm inside.

Replaced another one just like it that I've worn to death over more than 10 years. Great fit, great look and toasty warm.

Love this sweater. Chunky knit wool. Tough construction. Classic ll bean traditional fit. If you're worried about the sizing, but own traditional fit shirts from them, go with same sizing. I typically wear L, but am a medium in ll bean traditional fit (I wear large for slim fitted, and am 6', 200lb). If you are going off of the size chart, I find it not to be true to size. I wear a size 44 in chest, but the large would just be too big and baggy. The smell is lanolin as typical with most wool products, it's not at all noxious and I only noticed it because I deliberately smelled the fabric when I got it. I love the color and it is quite warm. Great to use as a mid layer. Over an undershirt and Beneath a jacket. It's not the softest wool, but it is not advertised as such. This isn't an Italian merino wool sweater, it serves a different purpose. It's rugged and warm.

The fit and the quality that you can't get anywhere else. It's the thickest sweater material ever. I really like everything about it.

These sweaters are comfortable, keep you warm without getting overheated, and look good. Main thing to keep in mind is that they are vanity-sized. I usually wear large but for these I had to go to small.

Nice sweater that fits good. Reminds me of a sweater that I had (and loved) when I was a younger man. I was mentally prepared to have to return it because of being too big/small, but pleasantly surprised with the perfect fit. Might just buy another one. Ordered, shipped, and received in less than one week.

This sweater is the best! It's nice, thick wool and wonderfully warm. The color is funky but only mildly so. I can wear it and not look like some weirdo trying to emulate the young or, worse, some old curmudgeon out in his grandpa sweater. Another store used to sell wool sweaters but doesn't anymore, just cotton and, at Christmas, cashmere. I ask you, what is the point of a cotton sweater in December? I will wear this sweater forever.

My husband wanted a lamb's wool sweater to replace his decades old one, his go to when sailing! The fit is spot on, L means L!! Washed in cold water, low heat dryer until semi damp, reshaped on a towel over night, comfy, soft, L still means L!

My husband loves this sweater. He's still wearing his 30 yr old red one, but was in need of a new one for weekends at the office. Just wish it was his favorite red/black tweed of the 90's. This new sweater is more maroon than red. Ragg wool is an excellent choice for this fisherman, dog walker, attorney.

Nice and warm sweater. Buy a size up. I usually take a Large Shirt but the Extra Large sweater size fit more comfortably

Glad to find the ragg wool sweater still extant. Us older guys live in them. One note: my considerably older sweaters like this had even thicker wool. But with continued global warming, perhaps I won't need this feature.

Why on earth LLBean failed to sell their signature sweater for so many years is beyond me and obviously their marketing team. IT'S BACK! Yippee! Bought enough to last me til I'm dead. They are the absolute best to keep you warm. Wool is the winner!

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love this sweater. The wool is soft and doesn't itch at all! It's super warm, yet thin enough to layer under a jacket. Bonus is that it can be hand washed, and doesn't have to be dry cleaned!!
