I know I'm not the biggest guy around but the length of the pants are obnoxiously long! I literally can fold them back over and they come back up to my knees. That well over a foot to long! Others have left reviews to the length being to long and they are 100% correct! I will have to take them to my tailor and have them shortened. Kinda frustrating to be out the time and expense when your talking about a premium set of PJs from a reputable company. Whats odd to me though is the length of the sleeves are perfect in the shirt but the pants are rediculously long. Another complaint I have is the female area part of the shirt where the buttons go into isnt sewed down on the inside. So there is this floppy part that's rather annoying on the inside! If they had simply spent an extra 3 seconds and sewed it down it wouldn't be floppy. This was a Christmas present from my kids and they had it monogrammed so I cant exactly send it back. For the price I'm very dissapointed. The over all quality is pretty nice, in fact it's very soft and durable feeling. If it wasn't for these 2 huge oversights I'd be in love with these and ordering another pair!

Expensive for PJ's. But it was my husband request. After two washes, two buttons came loose. And slight color fade. This will be last order with LLB.

I expect a high quality flannel for the price and being LLBean but that is not the case. When wash and dry the material sheds a large amount and became very thin after 2 washings. Won't last and not as warm as should be.

I was not happy with the quality of the flannel the pajamas we're made of. When the person held the pajamas up to look them over I could see through the fabric which I expected more thicker fabric for $69 95, I will never purchase another pair from L.L.Bean.

I bought the blue plaid which was lovely and soft. However even after three washings the lint was impossible.

I bought these flannel pajamas a year ago but am writing about it now since I only wear it during winter. There are two problems. First, after a few washes the material does not look good or feel comfortable. But the main problem is with th material that folds over the inside of the buttons and buttonholes going into the collar. After washing the lining material comes outside of the pajamas and it is not finished on the inside of the lining so it does not look or feel very good. A simple solution would be to sew the lining under the buttons and collar in place

I am 5' 6" and ordered a medium regular, in accordance with my waist size on the size chart. The pajamas seemed very nice, but were way, way too long to fit me. LL Bean - Please allow a selection of inseam sizes.

Sometimes change is good. This time it wasn't. LLBean's Scotch Plaid Flannel Pajamas used to be so very very comfortable for sleeping. But now unnecessary pockets have been added to the pants; the structure of the elastic waistband has been changed and is now less flexible and much too tight; and an uncomfortable (and unnecessary) draw string has been added to the waist. Please go back to your previous, wonderfully-comfortable design, LLBean. THAT change would be so much for the better!!!

I bought these for my husband a couple of years ago and the length was perfect. The new pair I just bought is a good two inches longer than the old pair. I will either need to hem them up (can't sew though), return them, or my husband will step on them every time he walks and then they will quickly fray. Yes, I recommend them if you are on the tall side, but don't want the tall size. No, I don't recommend them if you are shorter than 5-9.

The flannel fabric that these pajamas are made of sheds fiber. You will have to vacuum your bedroom daily because of "bunnies" of fiber coming off in unbelievable amounts. You will also find find a lot of cotton fiber in the washing machine and drier filter. I suspect the fabric will become threadbare quickly because of the rate of fiber loss. I gave it 2 stars for the pleasant skin feel, but I will not buy LL Bean flannel pajamas again.

I purchased this pajama set and upon receiving them was delighted. They were soft, warm, fit large but they were comfortable. After a few months of wear they developed a tear in the fabric, right at the crotch. Not the best. I figured, maybe this was a fluke. I setup a return and immediately bought a replacement pair so as not to go without a pair of pajamas. Received the new set and, within a week, the fabric tore again. The same exact spot. Its not a fluke. These are not well made. Very disappointing. I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I'm 5' 6" and ordered a regular size mediumthe size I typically order from LL Bean. The pajamas were way too big. I would suggest that LL Bean make the pajamas available in various lengths to better fit.

These flannel pajamas shed all over the bed sheets and the floor even after they were washed. They also shrunk. They feel thick and luxurious before washing and thin after one washing. I would have returned them but I could not find any other flannels for my husband.

I wear 34"waist and 32" length pants, and medium size shirts usually fit fine. I ordered a medium in these PJs. Leg length is ok but the waist is tight, almost to the point real discomfort. Sleeves hit me just above the knuckle and it's a little wide in the shoulders, so a large size wouldn't be the answer. Also the colors are misleading in the online pictures. The gray is much more dominant then pictured and the red is not as bright. I'm wearing them and I'll keep them for now but if I gain a couple pounds they'll be off to Good Will Industries.

I ordered this PJ set as a Christmas gift for my 90 Dad. I was so happy to order this PJ set as they are not a popular choice and hard to find in stores. I was confortable in ordering from LL Bean knowing that their quality standards are high. Well, that was until I opened the package. The frabric is flimsy, the cut of the PJ shirt looks off, the arm holes are too high, I question the comfort across the shoulders. I've worked in the textile business so I know quality at a glance. Being from Canada this purchased came to $80. At this price point and a LLBean item I am very disappointed and in a panic before Christmas.

Material and quality is there. The pajama pants were fine but the top was fine through the waist but binding through the shoulders. The armholes were high and small. The top would be uncomfortable to sleep in if you much around much at all in your sleep. I would think that pajamas would be "relaxed" fit and not "slightly fitted" as so much of L.L. Bean items are now. Disappointed and they are being shipped back.

I have been purchasing these PJs for my father for many years because of their comfort and quality. The PJs would last for several years. The last couple of sets I have purchased are of an inferior quality which have lasted just a few months before being relegated to the trash. The material becomes thin and fragile, subject to tears and holes. I am unable to repair them because the material has become so thin. I suspect there has been a change in the material, as it seems much lighter and less substantial than before. I regret that I now will have to find another source for quality PJs for my dad.

My husband bought two pairs of these Pajamas in December. Wow...I have never seen so much lint collect in my dryer. I swear they must have shed 1/2 of their weight with the amount of lint I've pulled out of the dryer for the last couple of months. Both colors (grey and red) shed like crazy. After about a dozen washings, the lint collector is back to normal but I've NEVER experienced this with LL Bean flannel before these purchases. I've bought at least 6 sets of flannel sheets and many many PJs. Very disappointing. I am okay paying more for a quality product. I'm disappointed this isn't one. I did add an extra star because my husband still wears these quite a bit despite the shedding, but I will wait until next year before I buy any for myself and hope the quality goes back to what it used to be.

I own 5 LLBean flannel nightgowns, 4 in Norway where I live and 1 in San Diego, now my second home. Love them all and they last forever. However, I have a question about the Grey Stewart flannel PJs I recently gave my husband. After the first wash, the dryer filter was clogged with dark lint, there was also lint all over the bottom sheet, and after the second and third wash the dryer filter is still completely full of dark lint. Is this because they are "brushed on both sides?" My husband doesn't feel they have the same "plushness" or warmth as the first time he wore them. Would love to recommend them, but.... Norway/S.D.

Although these pajamas are warm, soft, and fit well, I would not recommend them to anyone because of the pilling of the flannel. It got all over my bed linen and filled the dryer lint filter to capacity. Although improved, even after numerous washings I am still picking some pills from my linen. I am surprised and disappointed that L.L. Bean, a name that I previously thought was synonyms with quality, would offer this product to their customers.

I bought these because from LLBean because of the scarcity of full pajamas these days and my experience with Bean quality. I had these issues with the "Royal Stewart" medium pair I ordered: (1) The color seemed a lot darker than the pair in the catalog, making me wonder if there was an issue with the fabric; (2) After washing before wear, a large and undue amount of lint clumps were left in the washer and were overflowing the lint catcher in the dryer. I mean this was a massive amount of fabric dropping from this garment confirming my suspicions about the fabric; and (3) I'm a fairly slender 5'9" guy who buys M clothes which universally fit me just right, but the legs of these PJs are 3" or 4" too long, as if for a L or larger size. (4) Unlike some of your reviewers I do like the drawstring feature added to the bottoms rather than just elastic or buttons to adjust the waist as thinner people need the added adjustment a drawstring provides. In all, I'm very disappointed with the quality of the fabric and the too long cut of the bottoms of these PJs.

The pj's were a good fit. When I first washed them, the entire load was full of clumps of red flannel. When they were put in the dryer, I had to clean the lint screen twice because of all the flannel on it. Even after all that, everywhere I moved or sat, I left traces of red flannel. I even put them in the dryer alone, and still got more loose pieces off. Then I find that it's going to cost me for return shipping. I will not purchase anything from LLBean again. Thanks
