20 years ago I purchased these pyjamas and afterwards about 10 years later again, they were perfect. After getting a better job and a better salary I moved up pyjama wise as well and bought my Flannels from a UK-based store. They were quite expensive, double price compared with LL-Bean's. After some time I found out that it was simply not worth the higher investment, so I returned to LL-Bean. Last year I bought 3 new sets (the UK ones were degraded to rags), had the trousers shortened by my tailor after 3 washes and took them out a few weeks ago as it became colder. Now all fine so far; no lint in the washer, trousers fit perfect, the waist is a bit smaller, but the shirt ... Here's the problem; it is smaller than my old ones, it is a slimmer fit, still a medium but different cut, not the traditional one I got used to. The shirt is so uncomfortable it is hard to sleep in, they twist at the arms and limit my movement. The armholes are too small, ok I gained a bit, but I still wear a Medium in the chamois shirts, which I think have become a bit larger in cut, but anyway. In the future I will only buy the trousers I guess. LL-Bean; don't change the design of something that always worked in the past. Don't try to re-invent the wheel, and don't try to go cheap, be LL-Bean.

I was pleased with the quality of the flannel, but the Large size which is normally the right size for me was more like XXL with sleeves too long and trousers that were so long you could trip on them if not being careful. I will have to spend money to have them altered at my own expense on top of the $85+ I spent on the purchase

For $80 I expected the material to be nice thick flannel. It was T-shirt thickness Could see through it if I held it up to the light. I can get better at retsil stores.

Following advice from other reviewers, I washed the pajamas separately. I had to clean the dryer twice before they were even dry. The second washing produced the same resultso much lint in the washer, dryer, and on the garment. My husband never got to wear them as I returned them.

The fit is perfect except that I have to have the legs shortened about 4'. Otherwise very nice.

Bought these for my dad and he said the waist was just too tight -- disproportionately smaller than an AdultM sizing. Had to return them.

Material and fit was good. The material that folds over in the front (both sides) is loose and not sown done. Did not lay flat, pushed the collar out of shape, and was uncomfortable. These would be perfect if greater effort was made to completely sew the garment and try to just get by. These were returned.

This is my second pair of pajamas that I ordered recently. Loved the material and comfort of the first pair but the waistband was way too tight and was leaving marks on my waist. The overall fit for my size is perfect but the elastic is way tight. I thought it might be a mistake in manufacturing so I returned the first pair and re-ordered. A bit better but still too tight. Perhaps are made for extra slim people. The second pair of pajamas also appears to be balling up a lot more than the other pair. It's too bad because I love the feel of these pajamas otherwise. They are going back again.

Every 3-5 years, I replace my lovingly worn LL Bean flannel Scotch plaid pajamas. Typically the flannel material is thick and cozy. Because of this quality, it takes a few years for the flannel material to eventually loose it's fluff and warmth. Last year, I decided to buy an extra pair to rotate use in order get extend the life of these pajamas. I ordered an additional set in red/black Buffalo plaid this year. They were back ordered and I just received them. Holy cow, not worth the price. I could find better flannel pajamas at a discount department store for twice less. This new LL Bean flannel pajamas are very thin, almost more like a soft cotton, not the usual thick flannel. Save your money, not worth it.

I have been buying these PJ's for my entire family (3 prs of men's and 3 prs of women's) for several years now. This year, the men's PJ's were lacking in quality. No top stitching on the lapels and after one wash they are very misshapen. Size also ran smaller than expected. I will have to find another company to buy from in the future.

Needed to wash them three times to eliminate the fuzz. The fabric thinned way down. a pair we bought about 2 months ago only required one washing and did not thin down. Not a good product.

My family grew up always buying LL Bean men's pajamas. They were soft and indestructible. I was really shocked at the low quality of the fabric of this recent purchase.

The top was fine, the bottom had elastic that was far too tight (borderline trying to cut me in half). From calling customer service, I learned that the elastic in the mens pants is 53% rubber/47% poly. The elastic in the womens pants is 38% rubber/62% poly. In terms of elastic tightness, my wife's womens set felt like something a human would voluntarily wear. I returned this to get a womens set. I wish they would have the supplier switch to 38% rubber elastic for the mens pants, in addition to using it for womens pants.

Sleeves and pant legs are WAY too long. Washed and dried both on HOT, still not ok. Material is wonderful, so I will hem sleeves and pants, but would not buy again.

First wash of both pairs left "lint" all over the other items in the same load. It took me a long time to pick the lint out of my machine and off of all the other items. For the price of these pajamas, I would not expect that to happen! Very frustrating.

The flannel material does not hold up well in washing. The dryer lint screen is always full of the flannel after drying. Does not look good after a couple of washes. Your flannel shirts do not exhibit the same issue. Will not buy again.

Fit was good, however, once washed it must be ironed or nothing "fits" like it did prior to initial washing. And, when tossing and turning in bed the arms and legs of the PJs pushed/moved up. Made it very uncomfortable!

Nice pajamas, though quite expensive. Did not last more than a couple of seasons - the knee ripped out while putting my foot in and the seams fell apart in various areas. I do not believe LL Bean quality to be of the same high standards as in the past. I ended up throwing them out.

Warm comfortable pajamas! But the first week of wearing them there's a big hole in the crouch area. Not worth the money if they rip so easily.

I was hoping these would have been at the same level of their competitor's product that I wore for years, but its just okay of a product. My previous work was a fit model so my expectations on fit may be expecting a bit more than other customers. The Good: The pants fit great. They have the side pockets and drawstring for tightening up for smaller medium waists. The top and bottom match perfectly and I was so happy I could buy them as a "set" versus having to purchase separately. I also was thrilled to have a matching robe for each of the three sets I purchased. The Expected More: The armhole fit in the top is binding when moving your arms forward or simply walking. Its not so severe that I would not wear it, but its not comfortable for sleeping in them. And not something I would wear than for my mornings or evenings. The pajama top has no coat/hanger hook. And the LL Bean tag cannot be used as a hook. The same is true for the pajama bottom. I find that a must. I'll be returning two of the three sets I purchased that I have not worn.

These have been my go to pajama for years. Recently ordered a pair for winter 2019. They changed the cut and they are slimmer in shoulders legs and arms. I would not consider this a full fit. Additionally the flannel was a little stiffer and did not feel soft like my former collection. I returned these and won't trust trying another pair ever again.

I ordered this which clearly showed a woman wearing them. When I received them, I washed them and put them away for cold weather. I just got them out for a cold night and discovered they were MEN'S pajamas. They buttoned on the man's side and were really really big. Ugh. I will have to donate them. I'm disappointed in LL Bean misleading me. I gave them 2 stars because the quality is nice.

Nice material, soft. Size was off. Sleeves were short. Pants were perfect, prewashed.. You know what happens to flannel when it's washed. Thirdly, the monogram. Nice touch, except it was as large and bold as possible. Not done with subtlety or class. Llbean cut back on monogram options. That may be part of the problem. Other part was placement, regardless of monogram size . Collar when unbuttoned covered the monogram.
