I love this robe, though two issues hold it back: first, when it first arrived there was a strong smell from what I assume was the dye; so strong that I had to run it through a regular wash just to alleviate it (which I was not happy to have to do, with it being brand new & all, but it did help to get rid of it). Second, after one wash of this brand new item, and having it for a few weeks now, I'm noticing pieces of blue shedding off here & there. After such a short space of time & pretty normal wear, I wouldn't think a robe costing over $100 dollars shouldn't be slowly coming apart on me, which leaves me somewhat dissatisfied because I really do love how comfortable it is.

The robe is heavy and warm - great for northern NH winters. Disappointed with the piling that is happening around the collar. My husband has only had the robe for less than 2 months.

The large size was way too big so I sent it back and ordered a medium. The medium is slightly too small through the shoulders. My main issue is with the feel of the material. Terry cloth should be very comfortable but this robe is a little scratchy. I consider this robe to be at a premium price and so expected better comfort.

The fabric should be stronger. After the first washing, there is an area around the neck that is worn out.

The quality and fit are great. I'm issue is the price I paid from the online store was $20 more than the price tag that came with the item. Emailed customer service and got no response. Disappointed in the customer service and price discrepancy.

I returned this robe because the sleeves are too tight - normal 5'7'', 165 lb. I've noticed that not only LL Bean, but other manufactures are either cutting costs by cutting material in certain areas, like sleeves, or they were designed and made in countries where people are smaller?

Really large for an extra large. He compared it to a buffalo robe!

It was okay. Maybe 3-4 stars for softness and quality/feel. I used to own a terry cloth robe for years that I remember being much better material, build, and feel. This one wasn't of the same caliber. And from the reviews I read, it seems a truly good terry robe is hard to find these days. Still, it was okay. It's a lot of robe. Arms were too long on mine. Otherwise it fit fine. Definitely not meant for the warmer months. I ended up returning and got a different robe elsewhere.

Beware, the robe shrunk one size. Lucky for me, it was a little when I tried it on in the store. So now it fits perfectly.

Runs large and sleeves are too long. Will have sleeves shortened.

Noticed a pull in the fabric after the first wash. Somewhat warm for the climate I live in.

This is a beautiful robe. Because of the amount of fabric required it is very heavy, which was a problem for the person I gave it to.

I purchased this for my husband as a gift. I would not recommend this, nor would I purchase this again. The robe is very comfortable, but snags easily & is not wearing well.

I purchased the robe for my father, he thought it was to heavy, the sleeves and length were to long for his taste.

Bought this robe for my husband at Christmas. I always admired LL Bean products because they wear very well. Last forever. Had it initialed. Fabric very nice. First wash belt loop came off. I washed separately and removed the belt from robe. Belt loop came off completely. Can't return at this point. Check stitching before washing.

After only two washes, it developed pulled threads. It was a gift for someone important and it was disappointing. We bought three robes of different kinds and, really, none of them seemed to be great quality. From now on we'll probably buy from a bricks and mortar store somewhere where we can feel the fabric and look at sewing details.

It's a very warm robe, however the collars on both sides are pilling. The robe is only a couple of weeks old and only washed once! A bit of a disappointment based on Beans quality. The robe is for myself

Robe was cumbersome and too heavy to wear and enjoy. Material was not that soft as I would have preferred. I decided to return it.

Incredibly comfortable and cozy. Perfect fit. Wife gave me one as Xmas gift after she read many positive reviews. Having now washed the robe I suspect that all the reviews were written before washing it. After one wash the robe looks like it has aged many years. The fabric is pilling similar to the effect often seen on synthetics. Edges are frayed and color has faded. AFTER ONE WASH. I considered returning it but it is so comfortable, I reluctantly decided to keep it. This is particularly concerning for an LL Bean product.

The problem with this robe is the neck. There is a large lump of material right in the middle of the neck. Alway a problem. I intend to return it.
