Looking good and very comfortable wearing the River Driver's shirt. However, the washing instructions printed directly on the fabric inside the shirt are blurry. A phone call to customer service was necessary for instructions.

I really liked this shirt when I put it on even though it was so long in the sleeves that I had to roll up the cuffs to the seam. But after it was washed once it is very tight and too small due to the huge amount of shrinkage. Originally wanted to buy more as it was great for the weather here at Lake Tahoe, but due to the huge amount of shrinkage I will not.

LL BEAN is getting annoying with poorly placed tags
about as annoying as them refusing to acknowledge and demand you enter
review text?
DISLIKE the TAG
LIKED the shirt but its a pain having to cut off an unneeded tag
thats as long as CVS receipts
Because of them making me do the review over and over instead of 4 stars
it now only gets 3
shame they wouldn't allow the inside of the shirt photo because it was too much data.

I have a few older river driver tops that were much heavier then this. The current one makes a tee shirt seem heavy.

I was disappointed in the weight of the fabric. For the price point I expected something more substantial. I will keep the articles but will not order this product again.

Really want to like this shirt, but it comes down way below my waist and the arms are just a shave too long. Quality materials and fits me well on the shoulders and across the chest. I'm worried that stepping down a size will be ill fitting elsewhere so returning. For reference I order XL from LLB on all of my other shirts and rarely is this an issue.

I have a River Driver shirt that is wearing out...a fave...the new one is a bit harsh feeling on the skil...fit is fine, and hopefully it will age into the softness of the old one.

I was excited to finally get two River Driver's shirts for three-season wear inside and outside the house. I carefully followed the care instructions: machine wash cold, air dry flat (don't use a clothes dryer). A hassle, yes, but worth it. I really liked wearing the shirts, but I was concerned that eventually they would accidentally find their way into the clothes dryer. It didn't take long - one of my shirts went through the dryer and is now too small to wear. I compared it to the other shirt which had not (yet) been through the dryer, and saw that it shrank two inches in the sleeves and two inches in the body length! What was a comfortable but slim fit is now tight around the chest and the sleeves are too short.
Why are these shirts not made with pre-shrunk fabric? The solution is simple. These shirts are expensive ($64.95 each), and I guess they're going to end up at our local clothing donation center.
Very disappointed.

Fits well and well made but hem is unfinished
Fabric is very rough and scratchy
It cannot be worn as a base layer
I have long arms so sleeve length was excellent
Over priced

My husband loves how warm this shirt is for winter, but the material makes his skin super itchy. He has to wear another shirt under this one. Washing the shirt with fabric softener did not make a difference.

I bought this for my husband and find the material very stiff or on the itchy side, the fit is a little tight too. He isn't complaining, but I think it could have been softer material and a looser fit.

This shirt was a very nice color, and the fabric felt very heavy duty, good quality. However, it shrank much more than we expected, in spite of laundering it with care per directions... so tight at the neck (and pretty much eveywhere else)

First use, true to size. After first wash, disappointing shrinkage. Fared much better
with the unshrinkable mini-waffle henley, which was true to size and absolutely no shrinkage.

I love these shirts, but this is the second one I have purchased in which one cuff was miss-sewn, so that it never lies flat around the wrist. It has unnatural folds and constantly begs to be laid straight, but the material is not symmetrical.

Size runs large. Body is too long. I own the previous version and the fit was perfect, the newer version not so much.

It is a warm shirt, but it emerges quite wrinkled from the dryer.

This is a good warm shirt when using an undershirt. Length-wise, it shrank a bit because I didn't follow the "lay out flat" drying instructions. It is a wool-blend shirt so pay attention. It's still wear-able for me though it shrank a bit. Kind of pricey for what you get though.

I purchased both the grey and blue versions. The grey fit okay, not roomy, and was long enough to wear either tucked or untucked. The blue fit okay, again not roomy, but the length is at least 2" shorter than the grey. I was able to tuck it but looked really funny untucked.
I am definitely returning the blue one. Otherwise they are what you would expect, a warm comfortable shirt.

I like everything about the shirt except for the hem. In my personal opinion, the way it is finished cheapens the appearance of the shirt and the way it looks on you. (and they are not cheap) I bought two of them for my son and probably would have returned them for a more finished product but he didn't want me to go through the hassle of returning.

I'm a true 41 in size, therefore your sales rep advised getting a medium rather than a large because she said they are generous, but for me it was not as generous as I imagined, fits snugly. On the plus side, I was very impressed in the warmth as advertised.
But my biggest complaint is the way you terminated the bottom of the garment. A cheap t-shirt is better constructed. A t-shirt is typically folded over and double stitched to prevent unraveling of the material. This product I'm reviewing is simply stitched at the bottom of the garment making it prone to fail after a few washings. You've taken a quality material and for the sake of saving a half inch of said material, cheapened the end product.

THIS SHIRT LOOKS GREAT OUT OF THE BOX,
BUT THE NECK QUICKLY BECOMES STRETCHED OUT OF SHAPE, A BIG DOWNSIDE. I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE TRUE OF OTHER BEAN COTTON OR KNIT SHIRTS.

Purchased this online and hoped for the best. Unfortunately, "traditional fit" has enough room for one plus fit people. The drape is tent like. If this was made in a "slightly fitted" version, it would probably be perfect. As is, it is not clear if I am wearing the shirt or it is wearing me. C'mom, Beaners, get with it, one size does not fit all.

I'm a little leery of the waist hem. It's not a quality finish and I wouldn't be surprised if it starts to quickly unravel. The care instructions require flat drying unless you like a shrunken shirt. I tend to avoid this sort of thing, Did I miss this requirement in the shirt description? I like to wash my street clothes and throw them in the drier. Still, lot's of excellent ratings from others so I'll give it a chance
