a very comfortable Henley, but still a Henley made of cotton, not wool ! too much money to pay for a garment like this.

I got this for me, but ended up gifting it to my husband as it has really long arms and a long body(men's shirt after all). I wish they made a women's top similar to this. It would be perfect under my down coat when I'm on the atv doing chores. The color is beautiful and it washed up well.

I'm glad I finally was able to afford to replace my old River drivers shirt. I will keep it but it isn't as nice as my old one because the wool in the outer layer isn't as soft and supple as the old one. Good thing there is an inner layer of softness. The construction is good.

I agree with the reviewers that gave the collar an unfavorable review. It did "pucker" after the first wash but did touch up with an iron to remove most wrinkles. It was a little itchy when first worn but after a few washes it feels fine. Use it as a first layer, around the house, intend to use it for hikes. The fit was, for me, fine. But it is just a tad smaller in the medium I ordered. My main size in cloths when ordering is medium, but close enough to give a "True to Size" rating. I do like the shirt and ordered another.

Nice shirt, fit well, comfortable material;. Like other Bean shirts like this however, material stains easily and they don't come out

Husband normally wears a "tall" large, and it was too big generally, but abnormally long. We exchanged for a "regular" large, which is still a bit long. Nice and warm for winter indoors and spring indoors/outside. Nice color and feel. Husband really likes this shirt.

The sizing is just right, and it fits well. The shirts (I bought two for my husband) are NOT soft though... kinda scratchy even, which is odd since the inside layer is cotton. He doesn't usually complain, but this seemed unusually coarse.

The XL Tall is a perfect fit. Washing instructions in about 4 languages except English. It can be washed in cold water but think it cannot be put in dryer. Must be laid flat to dry..guessing on that?

Not quite as heavy as ones purchased in the 1980's.

I love this shirt!! I have one ~35yrs old. I wanted all my family to have on; I ordered four in what I believed were the correct sizes. Three shirts did not fit the intended persons. We swapped two , gave one to a friend, and returned the fourth. I wish the shirt was made more "unisex". I must have shrunk my old one, as it fits me fine. The shirt has a few stains so I wear it for outdoor work only. Perhaps you can make it more unisex sizing?

Just purchased my second River Driver Henley. These shirt are extremely warm and comfortable! A little high maintenance with the "No dryer" (hence the 4 vs 5), but worth it!

Way overpriced period! This is a "duofold" original and LLBEAN has bought the company while tripling the price, And doing nothing for the warmth quality.

Love this shirt (I have 3 others). I would like to have the neck trim lay smoothly.

I really like this shirt. It's warm and looks good. It fits me perfectly (5'9", 185 lbs). I bought the large. The only negatives: the neck can get a little ripply, and the lay flat drying is not that convenient. I bought 2 more (the dark red color).

'Outdoor activity'... it would probably be fine.

Very nice shirt. Comfortable. Thought it might be warmer, but this was for my husband who is always cold. That was his opinion. But overall he likes it.

I have loved wearing "duofold" river driver henleys since the 1980s. Bean used to make them in pretty colors that a woman might enjoy more. I wore one with a pretty flower print and a few pink ones in the winter to my electrical construction job. I worked so hard in all weather, and these kept me toasty in the winter. I work hard, but I still enjoy pretty things and do not enjoy looking so much like a man. The reddish color is nice, but I don't like that Bean seems to care less about women in their products and styling anymore. We like to be warm and comfy, too! My pink and flowered ones just went into the trash last week because after wearing them consistently every winter for 4 decades, the finally wore out. What's up, Bean? Please make more pretty functional clothes that are not clownish or frumpy.

My son runs so warm, he seldom prepares for drops in temperature. This shirt is great because you get the warmth of wool, but don't feel it against your skin. He finally tried it on a cold winter day, and enjoyed its comfort and insulation. I would size up, as many will be tempted to toss in the dryer for a few minutes, since it takes so long to dry flat. Be cautious, as it will quickly shrink, pucker, and lose its formyou will be sad. Besides, if it's ever too large, you have room for a layer underneath. It's a casual, yet handsome shirt, provided you properly care for and have patience with the drying process.

RD shirts have been a staple in our family for many years! I had a darling one for women (off white with pink rosebuds) that i wore to threads literally! Why did L.L.stop making river drivers for women?! So I wear the men's in not so feminine colors or prints...darn! It is a tad roomy on my slim body but i'm good with that.

I am a 126 Lb female. I like this shirt because it is very warm due to the wool outside and I love the cotton inner layer. I use this as a middle layer over my long johns all winter long The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because it is made for a man so it really dose not fit me very well. the sleeves are long and the collar instead of laying at the base of my neck kind of sticks up and scratches my neck. initially the wool outside is very itchy but after many washings it does get softer. I bought a charcoal grey one about 10 years ago and it is still in perfect condition and very soft. I wish LL Bean made this shirt for women. Women work outside and need warm rugged clothes just as much as men do. Over all great shirt and would recommend it for anyone who wants the extra warmth of wool but loves the feel of cotton.
