This is the single greatest article of clothing ever created. Where do I even begin? They are very warm but still lightweight and flexible. They last forever, I literally have a few of my fathers old ones from the 90's for yard work and stuff. When they're fresh they are even fairly stylish in a rugged sense. I'm 6'6" and the large tall fits perfectly. I don't even say things fit like a glove anymore, I say they fit like a River driver. They were out of stock this summer and I was so worried they had been discontinued I took a full inventory and assessment of condition, wasn't great so I got two more this year, tan and dark blue. My all time favorite was a white and blue horizontal stripe, it's a but worn now after ~12 years of solid use and minimal washing but I still pull it out when the wine is right. Crossing my fingers they do another run of special editions but I haven't seen any in years.
If your considering buying this shirt you should. You won't regret it. You'll probably remember this post and feel the need to thank me. Your welcome.

This is just what I needed: warm enough, soft enough, and long enough.

Most comfortable shirt that I own. Love the color and the style. Have received lots of comments about it. Plan to order other colors.

I wear this shirt on very cold days between an undershirt "inner layer" and an outer layer comprised of a down "puffy" and an outer soft shell. On warmer and dry days it is a perfect outer layer. The sleeve cuffs are long, warm, and well-fitting, and the shirt material is soft, thick, and warm. The brown color of my shirt goes well with the outdoors, and the size small shirt fits my slim frame very well.

I bought this shirt with 40% off the ticketed price of $80.00.
I feel these shirts are overpriced and I will only buy them at a discount.

I have been looking for a warm, soft shirt for years. I bought one and instantly knew this is what I have wanted for so long, they fit great and the fabric looks very high end yet durable. Mine wash up well, I never put them in the dryer.
I have several and wear one almost daily.

Sadly, they cost double what they did when I purchased my first River drivers shirt many years ago, but they're really nice and I seem to keep buying them

We have owned a lot of River Driver Shirts over the years. I hope this lasts like the rest. They are very expensive, I only buy them when I get a deal. I love the color.

I love it. I have had a green one for years, added this one in the midst of cold 2026 winter. Sadly I fell this week and broke my arm and it had to be cut off! The goods need is they were able to save my LL Bean barn coat.

Bought this shirt for husband to wear as bottom layer on these cold winter days. He loves the shirt just the right thickness to go under a flannel shirt.

This latest River Driver is my third one! They are smooth and comfortable to wear and warmer than other shirts eg.miniwaffel, etc. Great for traveling and as a first layer in chilly weather.

It wish I could afford to buy these in every color. I remember when these used to be 39.99. They have gone up so much in price. I love the way the shirt fits, it is great as a top and as a layer. Keep making amazing products, but I would appreciate it if these were more affordable.

Comfortable, tough, warm and stylish. I still have the first one I purchased in 2002 (Loden, crewneck). They get more comfortable as they age. When new, they get me complements for casual style. In harsh weather they are the best midlayer I've found. Shoveling the drive or hiking 6 miles in snow to see a frozen waterfall.

A very comfortable shirt - I really appreciate the double-layered construction. While I originally bought as a night shirt, I purchased a few more to wear under casual sweaters. Wash and dry as instructed, and the garment will maintain its shape and size.

I really like these Henley's. Nice heavy white fabric, but still soft and comfortable on the skin. I like to wear them layered up sometimes with a short sleeve tea underneath and a long sleeve flannel or other shirt on top. Given the cold weather, we're having now this is just what the doctor ordered.

Llbean has the best quality shirts. They last and the Tall size is perfect for men who tuck in their shirts.
