My husband loves these chamois shirts - he asked for three new ones for his birthday. It used to be that you could order them by neck and sleeve size but, like so many men's clothes today, they only come in S, M. L, etc. This meant that we had to have the sleeves shortened by 1.5 inches, at a cost of $20 per shirt. It's expensive but he is worth it (and it is his birthday!).

My husband did not like the pocket flap because of the things he carries in his pocket.

My husband has wore these for years and continues to order new ones. You need a bigger variety of colors.

Really nice as usual, love these shirts. Wish the sleeves were a bit longer, ordered a tall but sleeves still a bit short.

The chamois weight is just right for fall and spring. The shirt is too heavy for summer wear. Great shirt to wear as a light jacket.

Unlike almost all of my other shirts, this one gaps at the top sufficient to show the collar of my v-neck undershirt. Maybe it will shrink on first wash and that problem will go away. Quite comfortable.

This shirt is well-made, very comfortable and warm. What I can't understand is why LL Bean continues to make shirts with flapped pockets where the pockets are not deep enough to accommodate even a moderately sized cell phone. The pocket flaps cannot be buttoned and the cell phone sticks out like a sore thumb. In all other respects this is a great shirt.

I love this shirt and recommend it to folks that can use it as a light winter jacket. I live in North Carolina and our winters don't require a heavy winter coat. The sleeves and shirt tail are a perfect fit and the material is thick and warm. Perfect for my use.

The shirt has great fabric and fit, but for my long arms, in order to get a long enough sleeve length, I need a tall. The medium tall was very long, so I had to be taken to a seamstress so it cost me an extra $20 but I wear it all the time.

My son is 5ft 6in with an athletic build. He "borrowed" an older version of this shirt from my husband and loved it so much that he asked for another color. This shirt fits him great through the shoulders and waist. The color is vibrant and it is so soft. My only problem is that the tails of the shirt nearly hang down to his knees. This is a size M, not an XXL. He tucks it in and keeps going, but it makes him look a little bulky around the middle. He also wanted to wear it untucked as an overshirt which he cannot do. Overall, he still loves it, but if you are on the shorter side, beware.

It's a great shirt, I love it and even after the elbows tore I've been rolling up the sleeves and wearing it anyway. Buying a replacement now. It did tear at the elbows too quickly.

I got this shirt yesterday. It fit great until washing and drying. It got noticably snugger out of the dryer. I'm sending this one back for a larger size. Other than the shrinkage, I really like it.

This shirt runs big. I have many XL LL Brean shirts that fit great. The chamois shirt works for me in Large.

This runs smaller than promised. Disappointed because the brand is usually accurate about its sizing. Quality of fabric and construction seems good.

This is a great shirt and it is made very well. It is very soft and heavier than expected which is nice. Unfortunately, it runs so large that the XL I ordered for my husband looks more like a XXL on him. It makes me think it must have mistakenly been tagged as XL. Oh well his older brother who is much taller and larger is going to be getting a new shirt now.

I love Bean chamois cloth shirts. I asked that this one be monogrammed and was shocked to see a big monogram over the pocket rather than on the sleeve where all my other Bean shirts have been monogrammed. The color is okay, but I wish they would bring back the true red.

Quality is top notch but the XL felt like I was wearing a garage sack is was so baggy. Worn it twice and it hangs in the closet gathering dust. I should have sent it back for an exchange. This year in 2018 I sized down on another order and was pleased. XL felt like a XXXL.

My husband wore this shirt right away even though it was a little large. He likes it. Haven't washed it yet, so don't know if it will shrink.

Actually I bought two Chamois shirts. The first was a beautiful green, all the shirts I wear are ex.large, so I ordered this one ex. large.I thought it may shrink a little and that would be fine. I tried it on when it arrived and it was big on me,I washed it and it did not shrink enough. So I bought one in grey, size large.I tried this one on and it fit better. However the shirt tail is still as long as the green one.The shoulders fit me fine, the chest size, sleeves are good,it's just the length of the shirt tail that I not comfortable with. These two shirts are six to seven inches longer than my other flannel shirts.Hopefully washing and drying will help them fit me better.

I bought this for my grandfather for Christmas. I guestimated on his measurements (included his here, not mine) as he is in his 80s and a relatively slight build; he's not much taller than me.
I was leery of buying a larger size, though I considered the medium as he has put on weight and I didn't want the small to fit too snug around the belly, but I also didn't want the medium size sleeves or width to be too baggy. However after trying it on he said it fit "perfectly." Phew, thank goodness! I will note that I also bought the 1933 fancier chamois for my bf who is taller and skinnier and he said it fit just about perfectly except the sleeves were a little short. So keeping in mind that both of these men in my life are far from tall, big guys--those of you who are might want to size up!
I bought this in blue and it was true to what was advertised--a classic, dark navy blue--not cobalt or anything bright. It is soft and seems of medium thickness--not too heavy it makes moving around bulky but not so thin it's basically your average button up.
My grandpa owns a billion and one flannels collected over the years but I figured he could use something new that could either serve for lounging around in or slightly dressed up if he chose to, as well as for the mild chilliness we get in CA during winters.
I did purchase this with an LL Bean discount which was nice, but considering that this was well-sized and well-received, I'd consider buying again if, to me, more interesting colors were offered!

The two shirts fit fine and are of good quality. Ordered two last year and they are fine, but the two I ordered and received a few months ago have button holes that are too small.
Very hard to get the buttons through the holes. Both shirts are the same. What happened? Would give them 5 stars except for this flaw.

I don't know how many years I have been wearing the Chamois style shirts but I do know it's been at least 10 years. This shirt really looks sharp with the outdoors look. It's sturdy and can be washed and worn without having to iron. Looks good and I've worn them for dinner engagements along for daily wear. The only negative and it has nothing to do with quality is that I'd like to see this shirt offered with button down collars. The shirts I bought years ago had the button down collars and being just a little OCD, I liked the look. Again, nothing to keep me from buying the current style, as I bought 3 shirts this Christmas in different colors, all w/o button down collars.
