Fabric, construction and fit all excellent.
Same problem here with pockets that I had with Bean pants recently. Why make such a nice product and skimp on pockets? Is small pockets where the profit is?!?!?!?
My iPhone sticks out an inch plus. My note pad uses 3x5 cards and sticks out 1.5 inches. The only thing I routinely carry in shirt pockets that can be buttoned down securely is eye drops.
If you used the same amount of fabric to make one big pocket it would not be optimal. But it would be better.
Again: I simply do not get it. Why make such a good shirt and then skimp on the pockets? Seems foolish to me. No pocket pinching at Duluth Trading or Filson.

I ordered the men's size corresponding to my Womens' size as you do not offer this shirt for larger ladies. I cant say it works because it is different in the way clothing for women is designed. PLEASE offer this shirt for women in the larger sizes even if it has to be a bit more expensive. I have always loved these chamois shirts which become super soft over time as has my companion. He would wear them till they were worn thin.

I rarely give 5's so take star rating with a grain of salt. Like most heavier flannel shirts from LL Bean these are stiff and a little too large at first, then soften and shrink to fit after several washes in warm and with normal machine drying. Sleeves may get a tad shorter if you launder as I do. Not the heaviest weight but definitely heavier than traditional flannels. Will pill with machine washing and drying but that doesn't bother me as I like to break my new clothes in to a worn in look and feel as quickly as possible. Go up a size to wear as an outer layer. I'm a 40R and Bean's mediums fit me best.

I own eight of these shirts. Love them. But no two of them are cut the same. The arms are all of a different length. They all fit my torso differently. They aren't so different that I cannot wear them. And I love the material. But each one fits differently from the other. You'll note that I marked it as slightly large. I didn't want to mark any of the choices. Some are snug. Some are a bit large. A couple fit perfectly.

This shirt is soft and warm. I gave it to my husband for Christmas, and he loves it. It seems to run a little big in the body, but it is a nice comfy shirt, so he is good with the sizing. The color is a little more yellow/gold than what I expected judging from the color on the internet. I would have preferred something a little paler, but it is ok.

The shirt was way oversized. I double checked the label thinking I received an extra large.

This nice shirt needs slightly deeper pockets to hold a smart phone; in my case an iPhone 7. Pockets with Velcro closures rather than buttons would make me happier.

I love the shirt, but the sizing is completely wrong. I wear Bean size Tall/Large, which is what this shirt is. The sleeves come down almost to the ends of my fingers. The shirt comes down 2/3 of the way to my knees.

XL-Regular is slightly larger than expected. Arm Length=ok (same as most); shoulder width=1/2-1" wider than what I have bought at other vendors; Length=1" - 2" longer than what I have bought at other vendors. Due to length it is difficult to tuck into trousers - too much excess material. Material and fit is very comfortable for use when lounging at home; however, length and inability to tuck into trousers makes it unusable for me when shopping or visiting friends. I wear this shirt during the Fall & Winter; but wearing it un-tucked does not work well with a winter jacket. Sleeve length prevents me from going to a smaller size such as "Large".

I love these shirts and have several in different colors. They are warm in the winter months without overheating. I'm a 2XL Tall and that size fits just great. I dont like shirts that are tight fit and prefer these since they do fit nicely, but lose. The one downside I have seen to these shirts is the elbows seem to wear out quickly. I'm not sure why this happens. I'm watching my most recent order to see if and how quickly the elbow wears out.
Bottom Line: Order the shirt. I think you will be pleased.

My husband loves these chamois shirts - he asked for three new ones for his birthday. It used to be that you could order them by neck and sleeve size but, like so many men's clothes today, they only come in S, M. L, etc. This meant that we had to have the sleeves shortened by 1.5 inches, at a cost of $20 per shirt. It's expensive but he is worth it (and it is his birthday!).

My husband did not like the pocket flap because of the things he carries in his pocket.

My husband has wore these for years and continues to order new ones. You need a bigger variety of colors.

Really nice as usual, love these shirts. Wish the sleeves were a bit longer, ordered a tall but sleeves still a bit short.

The chamois weight is just right for fall and spring. The shirt is too heavy for summer wear. Great shirt to wear as a light jacket.

Unlike almost all of my other shirts, this one gaps at the top sufficient to show the collar of my v-neck undershirt. Maybe it will shrink on first wash and that problem will go away. Quite comfortable.

This shirt is well-made, very comfortable and warm. What I can't understand is why LL Bean continues to make shirts with flapped pockets where the pockets are not deep enough to accommodate even a moderately sized cell phone. The pocket flaps cannot be buttoned and the cell phone sticks out like a sore thumb. In all other respects this is a great shirt.

I love this shirt and recommend it to folks that can use it as a light winter jacket. I live in North Carolina and our winters don't require a heavy winter coat. The sleeves and shirt tail are a perfect fit and the material is thick and warm. Perfect for my use.

The shirt has great fabric and fit, but for my long arms, in order to get a long enough sleeve length, I need a tall. The medium tall was very long, so I had to be taken to a seamstress so it cost me an extra $20 but I wear it all the time.

My son is 5ft 6in with an athletic build. He "borrowed" an older version of this shirt from my husband and loved it so much that he asked for another color. This shirt fits him great through the shoulders and waist. The color is vibrant and it is so soft. My only problem is that the tails of the shirt nearly hang down to his knees. This is a size M, not an XXL. He tucks it in and keeps going, but it makes him look a little bulky around the middle. He also wanted to wear it untucked as an overshirt which he cannot do. Overall, he still loves it, but if you are on the shorter side, beware.

It's a great shirt, I love it and even after the elbows tore I've been rolling up the sleeves and wearing it anyway. Buying a replacement now. It did tear at the elbows too quickly.
