the insole was misplace making it protrude into the boot which caused irritation to the ankles.

Order a size smaller. They come to big. Not much stability cushion in rocky terrain.

Loved the thick lining for this boot but too hard to get boot tied up at ankles-according to my son

These are beautifully hand-constructed boots, and very well made. I wish they were a lot more comfortable. I am trying to replace a 20-year-old pair of Columbia Bugaboo women's snow boots. Those are perfection and I wish I would have bought three pairs at the time. I am having an extremely hard time trying to replace them. I need a super comfortable winter snow boot that will keep me dry in rain or snow. I like to do winter hiking in these. These boots lack cushion and comfort under the foot. I might as well have been wearing inexpensive rain boots for the support and comfort I was given. The volume in this boot is too low to add in a cushioned arch support. So very sad to have to return new. Please come up if a cushioned footbed and I will try them.

There is a distinct level change from the heel area towards the front of the boot. Meaning that that was the reason for me for returning the boots.

I put an order in on December 12, 2025. It is March 3m 2026 and the boots have not come yet. Latest delay tells me they are coming March 31, 2026. Do you think I'm a happy customer?

I will start off with the positives and then proceed with the detrimental negatives. First, these boots are advertised as "Best for rain, slush, snow and colder conditions. Not designed to stay submerged in water." Positives. I got them on sale and they are incredibly comfortable. Great arch support, great for hiking up rough mountains or just walking around town. They look awesome and are very warm. I have never made a purchase from this brand before and always wanted a pair of "duck boots / bean boots". I was under the impression of high quality and the "original" duck boot as every item they are selling is at a premium. As a business owner myself I though they must have worked there way up to that price selling quality products. I didn't have an issue spending the money believing I was getting a good product. The negatives (I'm the least picky person you will ever meet). I've hardly wore the boots for 3 months and not everyday. Maybe a total of 35 days of use and never more than 8 hours on my feet. I am located in Northern Nevada and we had a very mild winter. It snowed twice the entire winter and no rain. Now that the season is over the problems have come to light. I could not figure out all winter why my toes felt like they were going to need to be amputated and the ransid smell coming from the boots. I thought maybe it was just the leather they use. Little did I know what was happening. The last couple of times I wore them there was snow on the ground and the first time I had to actually test them. Come to find out, the boots are full of mold from water trapped beneath the insoles. Not sweat either and the boots have never been submerged or seen rain. No the boots were not stored with snow on them and have never seen snow inside them. I took great care of them and it is just a shame. I would usually take the insoles out after wearing them but being lazy and it being the last time I wore them for the season I left the insoles in. A week later, Ive taken them out to find mold and a severe amount of water under the insoles as if I ran them through the washing machine. These boots could not survive a rain puddle. I am at a loss for words and just upset I spent the money. I will not be making any other purchases from this company. This is another fashion boot not meant for actual use.

My wife gave me a pair for Christmas and I immediately noticed the boots were not made well. The leather was not cut cleanly around the rubber and there were several spots where the stitching was not done properly and the glue was delaminating between the leather and rubber. It was immediately noticeable. The company claims to stand for high quality, but this is not a quality boot. Have no clue how anyone thought this boot was ready to ship to a customer. They clearly do not care at all about their products or their customers. We drove an hour to Indianapolis to make an in-store exchange, and they are completely out in store and online. Sales associate cannot even see on the computer when they will be available again. She didn't tell me they were totally unavailable when she gave me a gift card so I could reorder. Now I am stuck with a 260 gift card for a company that I have no desire to buy anything from. High prices, low quality. I will never buy anything from LL Bean again. Don't waste your time or your money.

To preface, I'm hard on boots. I wear them every day and I work with livestock. I figured spending $250 on boots would buy me some durability. And I thought LL Bean had an excellent replacement policy if they didn't hold up. Wrong on both counts. The upper of these boots completely separated from the rest of the boot (on both sides) after 3 seasons of use. And I barely wore them for chores! LL Bean wouldn't do anything to make it right, even though they started falling apart after 9 months of use (my socks were exposed/visible to the outside world). These guys were mostly glued together and any stitching broke down quickly. Never again! I'm done with Bean.

They didn’t come with the shearling fur which is the whole point of the boot.
