the upper heel is feeble; it collapses when one puts slipper and and it takes some serious monkey motion to restore its upright shape afer foot is in shoe; otherwise one walks around with the heel material flattened under foot, which is uncomfortable, even briefly; it should be stronger, reinforced, so that placing foot in shoe does not crush it and require a shoe horn or placing fingers to uncrush it,which is a bother, has good arch; ALTERNATIVE is to by Bean moc, flannel or sherling lined and then buy a gel insole liner....in order to get some arch support

Just way too narrow and short for an adult size 10. The size is advertised as a 'Medium D'. The pair I received was no where close to a 'D'. ..... Luckily, I have a youg nephew who will grow into them soon. The slippers are nice looking and I liked the soles but the sizing is really off. ..... Where is the LL Bean quality that I am used to from purchasing in the past?

These slippers have a seem on the inside in the middle top of the slipper which creates a bump that rubs against the foot. They are narrow and uncomfortable.

Ordered my shoe size, it was comedically small. I ordered my shoe size +2 and it was still WAY too small. I cant even slide my feet in to get a feel for them. I really would have liked them. Too bad they weren't designed for human feet.

TLDR: sizing-up won't solve the fit problem with these, just get something else. I am a shoe fit/wear tester for a major footwear brand. I have a reasonable amount of experience evaluating the "why" of shoe fit, so when I tried these on (they were a gift), and I found as others did that I could not comfortably squeeze them onto my feet, my natural response was to figure out what was wrong. The problem is that the shoes don't have enough internal height (aka volume). When I removed the insole, and inserted my foot, the slippers fit correctly - the length and width are a true 9D. The insole is very thick (ample foam and fleece), and I suspect that at some point in the design process, it was thickened without increasing the interior height of the slipper to accommodate it. On a new pair, the deficiency is at least 1/4 inch. This would probably decease over time, but I found these so uncomfortable to force my feet into, that I can't imagine wearing them long enough to compress the insoles. Since the problem with fit is height, rather than length, just sizing-up won't help the fit significantly, since the height doesn't increase as fast as the length with each size step. You would need slippers that fit like clown shoes before you get something that you can "slip" rather than squeeze your foot into, and at that point they probably won't stay on your heel.

I read the other reviews stating to order size up due the being small. Nothing was mentioned about how narrow these are. States Med width. Ummm....no way! Returned. Very sad cuz the tread was great.

If you don't prefer a narrower shoe don't purchase these. I was very disappointed because normally things from L.L. Bean are great. Not only are they too narrow they are way too tight and I ordered a size up. They are so tight that it seems to be cutting off the circulation to my foot. Maybe they'll loosen up overtime but I don't know if I'm willing to wear them in pain to get to that point. I can't tell if this is a slipper trying to be a shoe or a shoe trying to be a slipper. Either way, it somehow is neither.

This is a great pair of slippers, but the design is a bit messed up. When the "Thick, removable insole for added comfort" is in the slipper, there is no room for your foot. I hope LL Bean will fix this design, as really really liked the concept of this new sliipper.

This shoe was very nice looking, but it was so small in width and length that it must have been mislabeled. I wear an 11.5 and ordered a 12 to make sure it fit comfortably. It was extremely tight especially for a bedroom slipper. It even looked like it might have been a size 10 or10.5 at the most.
