They were a gift for my son. He loves the color and style. They seemed a little narrow but he thought they would stretch a bit. I hope so.

The slippers are comfortable and warm. The heel is a little hard to get into the shoe, even though it is a low heel.

The barely noticeable back of the scuff will take a bit of getting used to but very comfortable plus a great tread on the soles.

For me, scuff style slippers are a difficult purchase. Too short and you just crush the backs, too long and they won't stay on. Too narrow and they are simply uncomfortable. As most reviews (and Bean recommends) half size order up....at a minimum. Most shoes I'm an 11W or 11.5W, with the width being critical.
I've owned many "regular" shoe type slippers including Beans wicked good style moccasins and they fit superbly, but I wanted something that I could just slip on easily in the dark right out of bed.
These were very tight right out of the box, and the size up (to 12) had about a millimeter to spare in length to not crush the backs. That said, I have hope knowing that these would likely loosen up within a day or so. I really wish they would design these with a slightly wider toe box and taper in toward the arch. That would solve most all of the negative width reviews. as they are no doubt pretty narrow.
I like to wear my slippers bare foot and that is the only way these will fit. If you're a socks on guy, either try two sizes up or pass.
I like that these are not memory foam. Plenty of cheap slippers out there if that's your thing. The firm yet relatively soft footbed quickly molds and holds your foot without feeling like you are walking on marshmallows. These are plenty warm with a high quality lining. I suspect my overall review will eventually add another star once they are fully broken in. So if they fit close enough out of the box, give 'em a couple days and I think you'll be happy.

the only thing i dislike about these scuffs is, for me, the back heel of the slipper is just too low. i get my feet in the slipper and as i walk the backs get under my heel and stay there. Other than that they are awesome, very comfortable, correct fit except for heel.

Thanks ti Zappos' great return and shipping policies I got to try several pairs of slippers until I found the one for me. These L.L. Bean scuffs are fine slippers. I find them very warm and easy to slip in and out of (if I want to put my feet up on the couch). Although very snug cross the top of my feet when brand new, they've stretched out a bit, but still are snug enough to stay put. My only real complaint is about the fact that they aren't just right for size. The size 7 I tried on was too tight, and too short, the size 8 I'm wearing is a bit longer than I'd like, but, they're just slippers to keep my feet warm inside the house. Which they do famously. These also seem to be very well constructed, I expect a long life out of them, much like my beloved Bean Boots.

These looked so comfy in the catalog that I decided I wanted a pair, even though they were mens slippers. They looked like they weren't too bulky anyway. I called LLBean customer service and asked what size in Mens I should order if I'm a 10 in Women's.
The nice lady said go down one and a half size. I still like a roomy slipper so I ordered a Mens 9 and - just for good measure - a Mens 10, figuring I'll keep the one that fits best. Unfortunately, even the 10 was a tad short and a tad snug (and I have narrow feet!). I can't imagine a guy's size 10 foot fitting in this slipper. So they're both going back. I'm debating weather or not I should risk more shipping charges and try the 11. They sure did look nice though and I think the right size would be comfy!

Bought these for my husband. Once he figured out how to deal with the insoles that are too bulky, he loves them. Luckily, they fit without the insoles.

Pros: the cushiony heel. Cons: the low ankle heel cut makes it difficult to keep your foot in the Scuff

Very comfortable and warm. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because all of the reviews are correct that you need to order a size up from your normal size and Bean still has not fixed that problem yet. Other than that these slippers are great!

Insole is the problem with the fit. I read many of the reviews before purchasing and can attest that, yes, you definitely need to order a size up. I wear a 9.5 and bought the 10. The length is fine, but it can barely get my foot in them. The problem is not the shoe - it is the insole.
The insole base is far too thick for the shoe and the top of the insole is fleece. Combined, it is way too thick for the shoe. If you discard the factory insole, and use third-party insoles, they fit fine. However, the factory insoles make the shoe unwearable. To get them large enough to get your foot into them would require a length that is far too long to work. Other than that - great shoe!

I was worried when I first got them and tried them on. They seemed at least a size to small, but after wearing them a few weeks they fit perfect. The only real complaint is the back of the slipper is to low and I end up stepping on it. My next pair will have a higher back or no back at all. Overall very nice.

Some what tight usually wear size 8 and these were 9 still a little tight. One slipper has a bulge on the out side but does not inter fear with wearing them.

It's a great shoe once you get it broken in. Buy at least one size up maybe two.
