I ordered the 13 and it fit like a size 12. Last time i got the green boots similar to this and they were 13 and are great even 5 years later. Sent these back cuz too tight but was told there is no 14.

Pulled the shoe out of the box, put it on my foot, laced it up, pulled the laces tight to make a knot and BOOM, the top eyelets just explode off the boot. I was flabbergasted. I explicitly bought LL Bean boots for their durability and quality, and this was just terrible. Will try ordering another pair to see if it was a one-time problem or not, but I'm very skeptical after this experience.

Poor quality. Comfortable but the hooks for the laces broke after 1 wear.

I ordered two pairs of the Alpine hiking boots. They were extremely comfortable and warm. However, multiple eyelets popped out of the shoes. One pair was a Christmas gift for my son, and two of the eyelets popped out the first time he tried to tie the shoes. I wore the other pair for a few days before two of the eyelets popped out. I returned them and received a full refund. I'd love to order replacements but seeing so many recent reviews with the same problem, I'm holding off for now.

The hooks on top of the boot ripped out when I was trying to tie my new boots for the first time (1/6/22). The riveted lace hooks pull out easily, you can pull them out with your fingertips if desired. Don't waste your time buying these, especially for the price.

Most comfortable boot, but all of the latches that hold the shoelaces have ripped out. I went to tighten them and they have all pooped off.

Got my first pair for Christmas and as I tried them on the top lace buckle popped off. Thought it was just a freak thing, so I swapped them for the same pair. My first day wearing them, the SAME THING happened mid-walk. Very comfortable for the 30 minutes I wore them, but very poorly constructed.

On the very first lace up a top lace hooked popped off. I've seen this issue in the reviews.

Eyelet popped off the3rd time they were used more of a shoe than a boot. Sent them back to LLBean

I have had these for about 4 weeks. While they are comfortable 1/2 the buckles have already come off the shoe. Very poor construction. I would not recommend these to anyone. Substandard construction at the least. Thankfully LLBean stands behind what they sell. Dont waste your money

My husband loved these boots but the top lacing hook fell off with the first lacing. He was so disappointed that we returned the boots, but immediately ordered another pair thinking this was a simple construction flaw. However the second pair did the exact same thing. L L Bean you need to fix this problem before you advertise these boots again.

I have only had the boots about a month. The other day one of the eyelets came off at the top of boot. Really sad because the boots were very comfortable for all day wear. I should have listened to others who had issues.

Had to send 2 pairs back due to bad quality control, both pair had the same problem as I tightened the laces the eyelids would pull off. Sorry to say because I've had this boot in the past and loved them

The top buckles broke on both boots first time I put them on. This boot does not meet LL Bean's quality standard. Very disappointed.

We purchased these boots at our local LLBean store for our son last year and we and he were quite satisfied, so when he outgrew those we went back for the same in a larger size. After about two weeks, one of the uppermost hooks in the lacing system popped out as he was lacing them. We thought maybe bad luck on that pair and LLBean provided a replacement. Same thing happened, simply lacing the boot - and he's an ordinary 12 year-old, not a strongman. We went back to try and ultimately settle happily on the original Bean boot for him. When we explained to the salesperson that we were replacing a second pair of the Alpine Hikers he mentioned that the same thing had happened to a customer who was just trying them on in the store! The Alpine Hikers seem to need a better attachment method for the lacing hardware.
