I bought mine in my local store in Virginia in July 2020. I took a day hike that week to break them in and found that they were pretty much ready to go. A couple weeks later, I used them in Acadia National Park, circumnavigating Jordan Pond and scrambling up The Bubbles. They kept my footing on the rocky beach at Otter Cliff. Every so often, I used them in nearby Shenandoah National Park. Three weeks ago, I wore them in Iceland, crossing a lot of streams and a glacier (with crampons, of course). These boots are relatively light, very sturdy, and really comfortable. I have a narrow heel and and wide forefoot. I never developed any blisters or even hot spots. Like many others, I feel like I'm wearing sneakers but with a firm sole. I have low-cut trail shoes, but I prefer wearing these for day hikes, because they're more comfortable and keep out debris and insects. Never had any lace hooks pulling out. I know it's a long time to wait before writing a review. I kind of lost track of time. But I always appreciated reviews coming from folks who had their products for a while and had sufficient time to shake them down. I hope you appreciate this review.

I am a 60 year old self employed truck, heavy equipment mechanic and welder, these boots have been soaked in hydraulic oil, engine oil, gear oil, diesel and the sparks from welding, over the years I have purchased many pairs of hi dollar boots none have lasted this long. 18 months every day. these have held up better than any other, I just receivedmy second pair I am sold.

These are the best shoes I have ever bought. Your foot slips right in and they feel great. True to size.

bought these for my son and he loves them. He rides his bike to work 12 months of the year and in the bad weather he walks. He wanted something waterproof and very comfortable and not too heavy in these fit the bill.

I ordered these boots for my husband who needed ankle support. He says they're great! They're warm and give very good traction.

I ordered this item in a size matching other "Bean boots" I've purchased and it indeed fit as expected. I experienced very little break-in needed, and the shoe is comfortable and the laces stay locked in and have not come untied despite wearing them all day. And, I liked the alternate set of laces - a nice touch.

Comfortable and broken in right out of box. Very soft bottoms.

Did not buy for hiking, but he will wear them for hunting & fishing. He likes the low cut in the heel & they were comfortable right away.

Nice boots- can't beat leather for durability. My husband needed new work boots. I searched for a pair that would be sturdy and endure rugged wear. They are lightweight so they work well for him for the summer.

Boots feel like tennis shoes and they are comfortable. Had them on during a rainy day and they held up perfect!

Unbelievably comfortable. Just hope that they hold up. These are now my "Go To" shoes for my 4x a day dog walks.

These were comfortable right out of the box, and appear to be well made. We'll see how the Alaska terrain treats them.

I've had these for about two years now and wear them almost every day. I've done hikes over 10 miles in addition to putting them on every morning to walk my dogs or to go fish. Through rain, snow, mud, standing water and summer heat these boots have held up and been comfortable in every weather.

These are the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever had. It feels like I am wearing sneakers. The boot top covers my ankles securely without being restrictive and with the leather exterior they look very nice as well. Only hitch is that, sometimes, the tongue sits in a way that is uncomfortable but I have not figured out yet what causes that.

These are my favorite hiking boots. I love the style. They fit great. They are comfortable. I previously had another pair in another color that I greatly enjoyed. I will continue to buy this style boot and would highly recommend them. LLBean please continue making these.

The most comfortable boots I have ever worn. No break in needed. I especially like the lower back of the boots

Love these boots. Comfortable, easy to get on and off and large toe box. Short, easy break in time. Nice looking too. Size seems right on to me.
