Nice looking light hiker. Not a lot of cushion on the ball if the foot, but room to add a thicker insole, which I did, which made them very comfortable. I ordered a wide just for this purpose. Plenty of room in the toe box.

A classic that replaced my 20 year old LL Bean hikers. They are comfortable and medium lightweight. The styling might be a little "classic" but these are classic trekkers !

Overall quite good. The shoe is wider than typical (yes I ordered the standard version) and when I put my foot in the shoe the sole seems kind of basic but I've been pleasantly surprised that my feet don't actually hurt. I'm waiting to see if that changes once I've worn them in.
The 4 star is because of the width and uncertainty of the sole lasting compared to the price tag.

Overall I love the shoe, I have purchased several. One of the most comfortable shoes available for me. The shoes look good. The only downside is the top over the small toe always wears out surprisingly fast. I also purchase upgraded sole inserts as I am on my feet all day.

Nice day hikers, seem well made and have good gripping sole. Fit well and are comfortable. Used them in place of a full hiking boot on a day hike that went longer than expected and they performed very well.

Like many others commented, the shoe runs small. I normally wear a size 13 and my toes were jammed against the toe box. It seems a little narrow but that was OK for my feet. Had to send back for a 14. Nice styling (i bought the brown). Waterproof are typically too hot for summer so got the ventilated. Typical great LLBean quality

Quality materials and construction make this shoe a good choice, The fit in 10.5 is comfortable on my narrow and flat feet. I'd prefer a slightly narrower shoe, but I am pleased with this fit and would buy them again.

Nice fit and comfort, a little heavy but they will not turn on you if your rock walking.

Very stiff but assume they need to be broken in for a while. A solid feeling of support from this, and appreciate that.

Bought these for exercise hikes and am pretty happy with them. They're lightweight and fairly comfortable for the price. My only issue, like most shoes I buy as a bigger guy, 6"3 and 275lbs, is I had to add an extra dr scholl type insert for extra cushion for my hikes/jogs, otherwise there was definitely a point my feet started burning. Unfortunately, companies that make extra wide/larger shoes never seem to adjust their designs for heavier people. They're designs are just scaled up or down for size, but never account for the weight difference between someone who weighs 115lbs vs someone who weighs 300lbs. It would be like using the same tire design, just bigger or smaller, on a sports car and a semi-truck. lol

A bit narrow for W size. Will give them time to break in.

Pretty good, perhaps a bit tight around the toes. I have wide feet and normally wear a 10 or 10 1/2 double E. I ordered 10 1/2 EE. Overall I like them.

Love the Trail Model 4 Ventilated Hiking Shoe. Very sturdy & comfortable. Excellent for hiking or everyday wear. However, it has an odor that never goes away, something in the material. It was there when I opened the box & is still there months later.

First impression was the horrible smell. I had to put the shoes and box out in the garage for a couple of days. I've gone on a couple of walks and they are fine.

Well made. Very comfortable. Good traction and support. Great all around summer shoe. Good for light hikes, walks and around the house and town. BUT they came with a very, very strong and unplesant chemical/petroleum kind of smell that after about two weeks is now slowly starting to fade away. I'll give them another week or so, and if the smell does not dissipate, they are going back. If necessary, I would reorder a replacement.

Good construction. Tread is good for hiking trails. Ventilated so my feet do not sweat. Accurate fit. Strings could be a bit longer.

I bought this same shoe many years ago and they lasted me many years. The sole is getting worn off though but they are holding up. So I bought another pair. The toe box has a little more room but I would buy them again. Nice shoes!

At first I thought the shoe was a little stiff compared to my worn out running shoes. Then I noticed my arches were well supported. This is a hiking shoe, not a lightweight running shoe. They are breaking in and are fast becoming a favorite.

Hey, these were inexpensive and my expectations were low. They look really sharp and they fit well. Put a high quality insert in them and they are pretty good. Only complaint is they are pretty rigid and do not have a lot of cushioning.

When I first ordered these to replace another hiking shoe brand that discontinued their mens' line, Ahnu, I was hopeful. I tend to pronate, especially my right foot with a collapsed arch, so I need shoes that help force my foot outward and have arch support. After finding my correct size, which is a half size down from usual, I tried them for a day and was in pain. But I also had and ankle injury from another pair of shoes at the time, so I didn't return them. Now, about a half year later, ankle mostly healed, I am trying them again. The roomy toe-box is perfect, and the heel is still narrow enough to hug my heel. The insole heel is a bit higher than I'm used to, but that might actually be a good thing. My only complaint is they could have slightly more arch support. But all in all, I'm on my third day, and these will no=w be my go-to hiking and work shoes (and I have tried many, many brands.) And the price is great, too. Thanks LL Bean!

These are nice, good fit comfortable and good ventilation. The insoles are not good, but my orthotics fit great.
