I'm not a big fan of clunky snow boots but after my last pair of boots wore out after 13 years (soles had holes and weren't replacable) I had no choice but to purchase new boots. I'm not an LL Bean fan by any stretch but I knew I needed something that would last at least 13 years. Someone recommended LL Bean and I was off to the races. Read the previous reviews of this boot and upsized to 11 as I wear a 10.5. It was a solid recommendation, thanks to previous reviewers for that. Boots came in short order and were packaged well. They looked good and wearing them has been comfortable and warm thus far. I'm hoping to really break them in overtime to reach that sweet fit but so far, a quality boot. We'll see if the LL Bean name lives up to how long they last i'm not terribly hard on my snow boots and the quality here leads me to believe that I don't have much to worry about. I'll definitely update if they don't make the 13 year mark. Otherwise ended up buying some snow suits and jackets for the wife and kids. That'll be the true test but I have to say, so far they are looking good! Hope to never order from LL Bean again, well, except for the kids, they're still growing.

The boots not only fit well (in my usual size wearing thick socks) but are very warm and lightweight. They are great for walking over uneven terrain, in snow or thick underbrush. As usual, great boots from Bean!

I was looking for a boot to wear in the cold Minnesota winters. I've had this boot for about a month now, and I'm really enjoying it and it's checking all of the boxes. I normally where a 9 or 9.5 shoe, and I bought this in a 9. It is slightly loose with a normal athletic sock (though you can tighten the laces down well enough to keep it from slipping), but when I wear thicker, warm socks (which I do 90% of the time with these boots), they are snug and comfortable. They are easy to slip on while holding the little strap on the back, but take a little effort to get off after being tightened up to wear out in the cold and snow, but this is normal for winter boots (just need to loosen up the laces quite a bit). They have seen some snow and rain and have performed well in terms of not letting water seep into the boot. I was outside in 20* weather for about 5 hours a few weeks ago and with just one set of "warm" socks on and my feet stayed warm. One thing I like is that I can tuck my pants into the boots OR pull my jeans over them and both ways are comfortable (read: jamming the jeans into the boot and under the tongue doesn't make it chunky and awkward; there is space). I cannot yet comment on the how they will perform in the -30 windchill and 2 feet of snow, but I anticipate they will be great.

After trying and returning other styles, these fit my wide feet. The color makes the clunky style almost cute. They quite flat but my arch supports fit in them.

I give product 4.5 stars but rounded up. Purchased for birding treks when it's cold and snowy. Have walked 20+ miles on snowy paths and trails during single digit Fahrenheit temps so far this chilly winter. Excellent foot support and toasty warm.
Tread could be a bit more aggressive for slippery slopes but really the boots have handled what I've come across thus far.

Got these from my wife this past Christmas to replace low 6" (other brand) winter boots. Got tired of deep snow the last few years and having to roof rake and shoveling walking in deep snow. I do other relatives homes too and these boots were amazingly comfortable and warm. Wore them with summer socks and the below freezing temps and never got cold feet....great boots for the deep snow and freezing temps even when out for hours.

Purchased these for my husband for Christmas. He has been complaining for 3 years that he cannot find a pair of boots that keep his feet warm. Well.... he has found them! He said they are the warmest boots he has ever owned. They even kept his feet toasty when we had wind chills of minus 27!

So far, these seem great! We have just been hit with below zero temps in Wisconsin and I have worn 2 Xs with good results. I also bought the Bean thermal socks to add warmth. I have read other reviews that expressed mild disappointment that these were not made in Maine and that the tread on soles does not seem deep enough. I am not too concerned about thread but share disappointment about product made in China. I am hoping LL Bean will stand behind any problem I may have and trust their oversight of the manufacture. I will use for snow removal and some hiking. I usually wear 10.5 to 11 and ordered 11 medium which fit great with thermal socks.

I have to admit, I'm quite impressed with the overall feel and quality of the boots. Hopefully they will last many winters. I've expected the sizing to be a tad roomier for thick socks layering, but I expect over few weeks, the boots leather will open up a bit. So far, highly comfortable. Winter is coming...i will update once i've put them through snow, salt & slush.

just LOOKING at my boots you can SEE the craftsmanship that goes into the Making and of course that should translate into long life !
I love the boots for deep snow and muddy and wet, but i was wondering if a more aggressive tread might be nice. Maybe another boot style has this?.

I love these!
(Wish they were made in Maine.)
I have poor circulation and these kept my feet warm in the recent "Snow Bomb" that dropped on New England. The fit is great with enough room to wear a thicker sock if needed.
The first pair I received didn't have the tumbled leather look that is shown online, so I ordered another pair which came in with the nice tumbled leather texture and then I returned the original pair. I'm super picky, so this wasn't necessary for anything but appearance.
Just another reason to shop with L.L. Bean.

My husband loves his new snow boots. He has been wanting a pair for years and I finally convinced him to order a pair. He only wanted a pair from L.L. Bean! No sooner did he receive his new boots, it snowed. His feet are always cold, and after walking a mile in them to get a cup of coffee at our local coffee shop, he said his feet were toasty warm. These boots were a great purchase that should last him for years.

I find the LL Bean snow boot to be comparable to a pair of Sorels that have lasted me over 30 years. They kept my feet warm and dry during the last storm (12 to 14 inches of snow). I've only worn them once so far but they seem to be of excellent quality, the leather has a nice soft feel, and the felt liners are an inch or so taller then my previous boot.

Bought a very similar pair ages ago. Felt liner design was first truly warm boot in my life. Had sole replaced when Bean could not do it (Bean had discontinued this type) and replacement was not quite satisfactory. Saw this model and immediately bought one and am extremely happy to see it return. A very minor purely cosmetic shortcoming is the replacement liner does not have a color match to the original (doesn't matter to me, but...). Great product!

These boots are a great pair. I should know - they were the third pair I tried. Lands End, Keen and then these. I initially sized up from my normal 9-9.5 in shoes to a 10. Those were too large also, so I exchanged for the 9s. These boots are tall enough for real snow duty (unlike the Keens), they are plenty warm and the leather is so nice looking. Highly recommended.

I love these boots! I have reynauds and lose circulation in my extremities. This leaves me freezing! Blue toes are something I try to avoid and these boots do it. The lining keeps me warm throughout a blizzard and the boot keeps me dry. Thanks to the height I can trudge through even deep snow in comfort. I usually wear a 12 womens boot and these fit me perfectly.

Awesome boot. Plenty warm, 100% dry, very comfortable. After a day of plowing/shoveling and wet, freezing feet in my *imberlands, I got these and am never going back.

Toasty!! These boots were everything I needed! Let me start off by saying I work up in the Rocky Mountains and am outside 12-13 hours a day 4 days a week in chest deep snow. Temperatures that can get down to -20 below. Pairing these boots with my Outdoor Research Crocodile Expedition gaiters, I was toasty warm and DRY!! I bought these boots because they are L.L.Beans snow boots, not just the warmest rated bean boots. They have not leaked, they have not ripped or failed in any way and I have worn them for over a month and a half on the job. The men's version does not give a temperature rating however the women's gives a rating down to -45 degrees. (Fahrenheit). There are not enough positive things I can say about these boots. These are meant for COLD weather, not spring or fall boots as your feet will sweat and get wet easily in the warm temperatures. Yet again, another great product from L.L.Bean.

Just another great LL Bean product. While they're not made in Maine, they seem to have similar quality.

This is a quality boot; very well constructed top to bottom. It's true the tread is a bit tame, but I like being able to carry wood into the house without shedding the boots at the door each time because of tracked snow. I use stabilicers for added traction when hiking mountains. Most felt lined boots are a bit sloppy so I put superfeet inserts in the boot for added comfort and support. The boot is light for a felt lined boot and very attractive. Without question, the best felt lined boot I have owned. I have been a LLbean customer all my life (70 years) and never had to return a purchase. I don't expect to return these boots.
