It runs much larger than my previous pair of boots. The insole is flimsy.

Disappointing but will make do for taking dog out in the mornings. Internal seams are a bit rough, and the fleece and zippers seem cheap. The height of them is odd -not tall enough to keep jeans tucked in, and top opening is wide enough to make it difficult to slip Levi 501s over the top of the boot. Just a weird little boot for the price

Unfortunately the way the top of the boot is cut, when zipped up it digs into my leg. Also the seam on the inside where the leather and rubber come together is very rough and irritating. I still like the idea of this boot but it is very uncomfortable to walk in.

I wanted to love this boot but will be returning it. The stitching where the fleece meets the leather by the heel of your foot is uncomfortable and rubs against my heal. I checked my other bean boots and there's a piece of leather by the heel so this doesn't happen with my other boots. Hopefully they can redesign the back portion of the heel area to add the piece of leather to allow for a more comfortable fit.

I'm normally a size 7. I bought a size 6 and the length was just right without socks. But its a bit too narrow. I don't like socks so I wore them around the house with barefeet and the seam at really cut into my feet. The insulation inside the boots was very thin and feels flimsy. I'm returning them.

I bought my usual size 8, and it was a full size too large. I went down to a 7, and that was too narrow in just one shoe but a better fit length-wise. I had to return them because the width issue was a problem. Separately, these boots have a major design flaw which is that the seam where the leather and rubber are sewn together is very chunky on the inside of the boot, so it creates a noticeable and very uncomfortable ridge that rubs against the heel. It's possible that thick socks might disguise the seam problem, but I would have needed to stick with the size 8 in order to wear thick socks, and that size was still too long on my foot even with heavier socks.

Well made but...the zipper style isn't snug on my ankles. I pick up my foot, but the boot stays on the ground! Fit foot well, but can't snug up to ankle enough. Returned them. They are very heavy.

These would probably be okay, were it not for the absolutely wacky sizing. I wear a 9.5, sometimes a 10, and never a 9. Going with L L Bean's sizing advice, I ordered a 10. I was planning to wear these boots with handknit wool socks; they are never very thin. Mine range from fingering to sport to aran weight. Well, I am swimming in the Bean boots. If I wear the boots with some of the lighter socks, my feet flop around as though I am a Dickensian orphan wearing hand-me-downs from a dead uncle. My socks fall into the boots after a few steps (this does not happen with my other shoes!) If I wear these boots with the heaviest socks I have, there is enough room to stuff a mouse-sized mammal in each toe. I am giving the boots two stars because they have two attractive features: (1) easy on/off, and (2) the soles have pretty good grip. But overall, I am regretting not returning them before I wore them. It's too late now. Maybe I'll go the Dickensian orphan way and stuff some cotton wool into the toes.

Absence of half sizes made it impossible to get the correct fit

These boots were very warm and kept my feet dry on a rainy walk. But the top edge is angled in toward my shin in such a way that after less than 20 min it had rubbed my shin bloody on one leg and raw on the other. Fit was large as expected and maybe with thick socks they wouldn't rub, but they hurt.

Bought these boots for the winter. Took advantage of the sale price. Unfortunately, they are a whole size, possibly a size and a half too large. Returned. Will try to get to an LLBean store and try on. Won't be on sale, though.

I want a bean boot pull on crazy bad for dog walking and easy trips out in snow. These "bucket boots" are poorly engineered and too large around feet and ankles. Even with thick socks these don't fit anything like a regular bean boot that laces. If they could get the fit right, I'd believe it for so long.

I love wearing my boots in the snow mud and rain . My feet are always warm and stay dry. I recommend these boots for easy on and off and on the go.

Humongous had to return. Did not seem true to size. Also too short. Snow easily got inside as they don't fit snug on upper ankle.

Returned these boots. Biggest problem, way too large. But even with a smaller size, they would be so heavy and clumsy to walk in, not useful for quick trips outside with the dog. Felt like my feet were encased in lead.

Was so excited that LLB was again offering a zip front boot. My old ones were just about finished. LOVED the navy blue color! But when I put them on there is a PAINFUL seam in the heel area, where the two types of lining are sewn together. Can't understand how anyone could wear these. LLB, please re-work the lining and re-issue them for next year. Sigh.

Very disappointing. The boot was way to wide at the top which would allow snow to pack in and I found the appearance of the boot to be very odd. I miss the classic boot with the zipper.

I was disappointed by this boot. I was told by the LL Bean agent to size down when I ordered it, so I did. Turned out to be too small. I have returned the boots.
