I purchased this boot in black last week from the L.L. Bean Flagship store in Freeport, ME. I'm glad that I was able to try the boots on in-person, as I normally wear a size 8/39 and I needed to size up to the 8 1/2. I absolutely LOVE THESE BOOTS. I haven't taken them off since I purchased them. I have worn them every day for a week and they have been nothing but comfortable. My husband and I were on a trip through New England when we stopped by the L.L. Bean store. I have since worn them on all types of terrain, from rocky coasts to see lighthouses, on boats, through rainy streets in Salem, MA and on hot sunny pavements in North Carolina. They are SO COMFORTABLE. It's almost like wearing a pair of moccasins. They have excellent grip, and a nice leather insole. The outside leather is also very nice and soft. I think these will be my go-to shoes for many years to come. They are a bit sparse on support, but I think a nice insert will solve that issue with minimal effort. I couldn't recommend them more.

Got mine today and 1st impressions are they look sturdy and the leather is nice. I usually wear an 8 1/2 and I sized up to a 9 and I'm glad I did, it will be perfect with a thin pair of socks. I can't wait to wear them in cooler weather. Great purchase!

I have narrow feet and these boots were too short and too narrow with thin socks. Definitely would need the next size up or larger to wear normal medium weight or thicker socks for the cold weather the boots were made for.

Looks like a good sturdy leather boot. Unfortunately, they run small and even though I ordered up a half size there was no way I could wear these boots.

I need a wide boot because of a hammer toe and bunionette, but these were too wide even for me. Too bad, because they are good looking and very sturdy boots.

Dark Cocoa is just that - A very chocolate brown. Pretty but not the color in the photos. Comfortable but zero arch support. I do love them regardless of both issues. Very cute and I've received lots of compliments. Not too narrow, fit perfect! I read comments about an odd fit, I did not have that experience.

The shoes are bit tight but I decide to keep the product hoping the shoes get looser as wearing.

I really like these boots but they didn't have any arch support so I had to buy inserts.

So happy that I bought these. They are comfy, keep my toes warm and well made.

After reading reviews, I was a little nervous on the fit of the shoes. To my surprise, they run true to size! Super cute with flare jeans and not uncomfortable. They were a smidge stiff when I put them on, but quickly loosened up. I may buy another pair in a different color, I like them so much.

Perfect fit and very attractive. I gave it a 4 only because the leather is a bit stiff at the top of the boot.

I'm typically somewhere between size 7-7.5, but following reviews I sized up to an 8, and I'm glad I did. I can wear thick, cozy socks for a little extra warmth or cushion if I choose to add an insole. I'm only giving 4 starts because there's not much cushion in these and no arch support so I do feel rocks/uneven ground beneath. I am not so sure they would do great on long treks. Overall, still a solid fall boot.

Comfortable, I typically wear a 8.5 but needed a 9. I've worn them in wet grass and feet stay dry and leather has not been damaged or stained

I love these boots. They seem sturdy and they provide good traction. They do run narrow and are slightly difficult to slip on. I hope that the tab in the back will hold up because it is completely necessary to get into the boots.

It's a bit too soon to pass final judgement on these boots. However, they are breaking in nicely at this time and my hopes are that they will become a good walking boot.

I have narrow feet and I feel like the toe box is still abnormally narrow/not as tall compared to all other shoes. I have to wear rather thin socks, but the next 1/2 size up was loose on my heal. Hoping the leather will stretch with time. Craftsmanship is excellent and the foot bed and ankle are comfortable and breath well. For the price point, they exceed other flat sole casual Chelsea boots. They look less urban and more woodsy/outdoorsy and masculine than Chelsea boots with a split sole and chunky low heel such as Doc Martens. Good purchase.

Nice looking boots at a reasonable price. I've only worn them once, and they were pretty comfortable. I need to get them broken in. I'm happy so far.

I like this product a lot, but I need to size up because they're overall a tad too small. The leather has a good feel and I think they will last. Overall satisfied, just completing an exchange.

Ordered size 8 ,runs narrow in toe box.Returned for a 8.5 much better fit .Very rare for me to go up a half size especially in a boot.Beautiful boot for the price.

When my husband ordered for my Xmas gift he asked if the dark color was smooth leather or nubuck because the dark color does not indicate "nubuck." The rep said "smooth". In fact, both light and dark colors are Nubuck which refers to the type of leather. I prefer smooth because nubuck tends to get shiny spots and will not retain its nap over time. I will keep though because they are quality, comfortable and nice looking.

I wear an 8 normally. The boot works with a slightly thicker sock. Roomy and feels good. Any ideas on caretaking/winterizing?

Good quality leather. Footbed isn't as cushy as I thought it would be, but I think it'll be fine.

This boot runs a bit short in length and quite narrow in the toe box. I am a size 8 and based on reviews, bought an 8.5. The length was OK, but the toe box was too narrow for my average width feet. If you have narrow feet, this boot would work for you. I also didn't care for the style. I bought the black. I thought it would be more "cool" looking. It looked rather drab to me. Maybe the brown color looks nicer. The quality is high. I always appreciate stitching around the shoe vs. glue and the inside is leather. It certainly is a well made boot.
